China Virus

President Trump used the term CHINA VIRUS...
so I think you're safe.
Every country here in Europe reacted the same way as Trump.
I think it was difficult to know what we were dealing with due to China's witholding of information. Or, maybe we wouldn't have believed it anyway --- who can know.
I think we still don't really know a lot about this virus....
Here all stores are closed: Only food stores, medical, and banks are still open. Illegal to go out unless necessary...not even family get-togethers. No jogging or walking dogs....and more.
We can still do things like that, but starting tonight we won't actually be able to go out anywhere unless it's essential.

Same here. Last day before I'm in lockdown. I can go to work and get gas and food, that's about it. I can go fishing but only with the people I live with.
Must stay away from people.
First to the fishing dock wins. Lol.

Who knows? In the future the vibrant, persecuted underground church in China may send missionaries to America to help revive the church here some day. Wouldn’t want them restricted from that by China being isolated.

They have a "Back to Israel" mission planned...where they will flood (one million at least) the areas west with missionaries heading towards Israel... until the whole world hears.

To the question of the blame game. Just finding someone to blame is of no value, however, discovering that a particular person or persons are responsible for this becoming the epidemic it did is important. Not so much in order to reprimand but to set in motion processes to hopefully prevent such catastrophes in the future.
In the case with China's hush-hush attitude, by challenging it and calling China out we just might reduce the chance of this happening in the future.
When my children did something wrong, I didn't sweep it under a rug, shrug my shoulders, and say that it's too late to matter who caused the problem. I did my best to find out and take appropriate measures to train my child to not do such things again.

It's not the virus itself...it's going to happen there... been happening there for a long time now. We never have given them recriminations for them either. Just asked to let us know when it happens...
But this time they didn't...and that's what the nation's are upset over.
The west should stop trading with China or at least stop buying from them.
Well then I'm not sure about from where you are but that would mean that America would pretty much have nothing as that's where we get the majority of our products.
Bring industry and engineering back to the states.

How do you pay for that? It requires land, buildings, machinery, personnel, and so on. That's a huge investment.
First, that doesn't solve our immediate problem. Second, it's not my place as an unknowing bystander or Christian to support a statement like this. Besides, Nike isn't in the business of making the needed medical supplies.
During the swine flu epidemic, some companies did try what you describe on a low scale. It nearly put them into bankruptcy. Here's a statement from the article I linked below where it is explained.
Prestige Ameritech, for example, owns a limited number of machines that assemble, sew and shape the masks. A decade ago, it ramped up production in response to the swine flu outbreak by buying more machines and hiring 150 new workers.
"We made a really big mistake," Bowen says of that decision. It took about four months to build the new machines, which are as long as a school bus and cost as much as $1 million.
By the time they were ready, the swine flu crisis had ended, demand vaporized, and Prestige Ameritech almost went bankrupt. "One day — and it is literally almost like one day — it just quits. The demand is over, the phones stop ringing," Bowen says.
To make matters worse, the hospitals and medical supply companies suddenly had a glut of masks; they stopped buying for months.
