I don't think that they are typically decorative but most of them I think have somewhat of a decorative aspect to them to me at least and perhaps some others. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and so would be decorative to some people but not to other people. It was not designed primarily as a decoration though. It has a use.

You can ask, but will I answer? I can't tell you exactly but I can dance around it to give you a hint. What goes into it is relatively small but then the device willl operate as intended. It runs now! Yee Haw!!

It is designed to store solid things. Not any liquid. It does need a smidge of oil every now and again but it doesn't store it, just keeps it good and functional.

That is a great guess but they are not batteries and it is not an electric shaver. That should narrow it down quite a bit I think!
