For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome. 1 John 5:3

“If you love Me, keep My commandments. John 14:15

If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love. John 15:10

Do you mean except for the 4th commandment to honor the Sabbath?
For most people, they honor all 9 commandments.

Exodus 20:8, “Remember the Sabbath day to set it apart as holy." NET, v2.1 ("Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy." KJV; "Remember the sabbath day, and keep it holy." NRSV; " “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy." ESV) It doesn't say to "honor the Sabbath". Here is the accompanying NET footnote for "Remember": The text uses the infinitive absolute זָכוֹר (zakhor) for the commandment for the Sabbath day, which is the sign of the Sinaitic Covenant. The infinitive absolute functions in place of the emphatic imperative here (see GKC 346 §113.bb); the absolute stresses the basic verbal idea of the root—remembering. The verb includes the mental activity of recalling and pondering as well as the consequent actions for such remembering.

Of course not.
His commandments are a joy that leads us in His way and keeps us so incredibly safe, and teaches us to love more and more.
Tell us which of God's Commands you obey. All of the Sermon on the Mount/Plain? Maybe just in theory or intent, "the best you can?"

Jesus never spoke of "trying our best." A person either does or does not obey. I will now read how you theorize upon walking in the light, and by the Spirit, without giving any examples or testimonies.

What would be your response to the somewhat provocative question: Do You Love God With All Your Heart? My own response came through asking myself some correlated questions. These helped me delve into this very fundamental Christian teaching.

What is your response to this very important question? How does it help you in your Christian walk reflect on it?
The incredibly vetbose five part presentation by this man is typical of all Theologians who have no legitimate work with which to support themselves.

Prov. 10:19 "In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin, but he that refraineth his lips is wise." Jesus only spoke concisely and directly unto any given matter.

Jacob62 my brother.

2 Timothy 2:15 "Do your best to present yourself to God as an approved worker who has nothing to be ashamed of, handling the word of truth with precision."

As for His commands, Galatians 5;13-14, "For you brothers, were called to freedom; but do not use your freedom for an opportunity for the flesh. Rather serve one another in love. "The entire LAW (In this case in context - The entire bible and all its commands) is fulfilled in a single decree: Love your neighbor as yourself (And you shall live).

My friend, the Christian life is an on-going process of learning and growing and maturing in Christ, when we continuously study God's word and use all the tools we have at hand to help improve our faith as time passes.
Nearly 45 years ago I was a totally different person in my faith than I am now, thanks be to God our Savior and the Holy Spirit.

I believe as we grow in Christ, we discover there are more than just 9. However these are a good place to start.

But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. Hebrews 5:14

Blessings to you.

So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths, which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ.

There are many scriptures in the bible that appear to contradict other verses, but God's word says,

1 Corinthians 14:33

For God is not a God of confusion (Contradiction) but of peace (Lack of confusion).

One of the many things you learn as you grow and mature in the Lord and His word, is that the word of God is perfect, not only as it's written, but perfect in explaining His purpose for mankind as the "ADMINISTRATOR", Ephesians 1: 7-12, (See verse below) of all He has created, and all that he has planned, and as OWNER of all we can see on the earth, below the earth, and everything we can see above us and can't see above us and everything in the ocean we can't see.

The longer you study the more you see the completeness of His plan for mankind as a whole, and how important it is to not only see and believe there are no contradictions, but also realize how important it is to constantly look for UNITY and Harmony in His word and not pit one verse against another verse, or one idea against another idea, but instead study to find how verses that seem to contradict each other actually support and complement each other in some way, and remember that there is a bigger meaning connected to God's plan, that just the context meaning in just one word or one verse. There is always a bigger picture that needs to be connected to.

All the verses in scripture are connected in some way to each other, to form the completeness of God's message and His purpose for all creation, including all of mankind.

How this idea of "VERSE BOMBING" ever got started I'll never know, but it's definitely sin, as people doing this are calling God a liar and an embasil, as if He had no idea of what he was doing or saying, and that He was confused.

So,,, if you read something confusing, remember, it's because you don't understand and you are the one confused, and you need to study it out to find unity and harmony.

God bless you all.

ADMINISTRATION
"In him [Jesus] we have "salvation through His blood", the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace that he lavished on us in all wisdom and insight. He did this when he revealed to us the secret of his will, according to his good pleasure that he set forth in Christ, toward the administration of the fullness of the times, to head up all things in Christ– the things in heaven and the things on earth. In Christ, we too have been claimed as God’s own possession, since we were PREDESTINED according to the one purpose of Him who accomplishes all things according to the council of His will so that we, who were the first to set our hope on Christ, would be to the praise of his glory." Ephesians 1:7-12

I recommend not to trust even one theologian , for if they are wrong we run the risk of uniting ( with them ) in error. The best theologian ( well there are two really) are Christ Jesus and the Holy Spirit . Words of the Lord are very simple and direct . No need to run anywhere else in Bible to understand what He was speaking. The Holy Spirit is the best theologian in my opinion . He helps us connect the dots. All my opinion .

My response is drawn from Genesis 4:6-8

Then the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? 7 If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must rule over it.”

You can love God with all your heart when you do what is right always.

And Abel also brought an offering—fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. The Lord looked with favor on Abel and his offering, 5 but on Cain and his offering he did not look with favor. So Cain was very angry, and his face was downcast. Genesis 4:4-5

We can see that giving God the best is what he favors. Giving him what is fresh is what he loves. When you do what is right and give God the best. You have deliberately love God with all your heart.

So people should believe you, acting as an amateur theologian?

Read my post. Ppl dont read, and post...I'm NOT Holy Spirit Jay. Lol I wish I was though :)
You recommended to not trust even one theologian. A theologian is "a person who has read and studied religious thought and ideas." That includes you, me , and just about everyone else on this forum. So, whom do you trust?

BTW, Christ and the Holy Spirit are not "theologians", they are God.

If that " theologian" is in error , you will invite with them in error .

John 14:26
"But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have told you."

Learn from Him Jay. How long will you trust mere humans . Haven't they made huge blunders ? I have lost faith in all humanity , especially teachers of the faith and the " theologians" . My reliance is now 100% on the Trinity , and they are fabulous teachers :)
You please do what your heart ❤️ guides you to

So why should I trust you? Aren't you a "mere human"? There have been and are great teachers and theologians, starting with the apostles and continuing to the present day. If you trust only yourself you're deluded.

Meaningless debate going on bro. Don't want to debate for the sake of debating . Please do whatever you want to. Won't write or reply to you no more on this matter . Just remember Matthew 25 : 31-46 judgment day vision Jesus gave, will play out word for word . No power in the universe or theologian can stop that from happening. Make sure you're not standing in the wrong group on that day. I don't care whatever theologian you use . Isn't it too late for following 'em ? Judgment on mankind is here already
