You seem intent on making the word "many" different than "all".
I see them the same.
Many means a large amount, but not all without exception. All can cunt for the large amount of the many. Is that all you see ? Certainly more was said.

Lol, I cant believe you asked me that, read the OP again
I'm not here to play games with you. If you only want to keep this one sided and not allow others to discuss with their replies than what is the point of your problem that man/mankind was added. The point you should be making is that Jesus laid down His own life that we who believe in Him will have eternal life with Him.

You seem intent on making the word "many" different than "all".

Here is how I would explain it. All being whosoever of the many that believe in Christ will have eternal life with Him.
But it seems like according to brightfame52 we are not suppose to use any other scripture other than Hebrews 2:9.

This only becomes a one sided statement thread without any discussion or adding any more scripture. I really do not see what point he is trying to make other than saying the word "man" was added by the translators.

We know Jesus died for all.

Don't you not understand that in discussions we discuss many scriptures that pertain to the subject, not just one scripture given in the OP.

The subject of your OP seems to be that the word "man" was added to the translation. You give us a language we can not read and refuse to give the English, but expect us to believe you! Ain't happening Skippy. You don't want to discuss, but only think you are above discussing anything other than your own opinion of what was added to scripture.

Yeah, but where is that word in the verses I used in the OP ?

Who said we are restricted to verses you use?

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Again, do you understand what the word “whoever” or “whosoever” means?

The writer of Hebrews wrote Heb 2:9

9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

Now honestly, did the writer write here that Christ tasted death for all mankind without exception here ? Nope he did not. In the original man isnt in the verse:

τὸν δὲ βραχύ τι παρ᾽ ἀγγέλους ἠλαττωμένον βλέπομεν Ἰησοῦν διὰ τὸ πάθημα τοῦ θανάτου δόξῃ καὶ τιμῇ ἐστεφανωμένον ὅπως χάριτι θεοῦ ὑπὲρ παντὸς γεύσηται θανάτου

Man was added by the translators. The word pas can refer to all the whole, the sum total of all the group intended. Context is important n determining the group that the writer has in mind. Lets look at the very next verse 10

10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

Bingo, its the many sons that e suffered and died for, or tasted death for,
The word many polys:

many, much, large, many, numerous, great

He tasted death for many Sons, a great number of them, everyone of them. This is important,, because later in the same epistle the writer uses the adjective many again to denote who He tasted death for Heb 9:28

So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

See to taste death back in Heb 2:9 is the exact same thing as " to bear the sins of many;" again, the many Sons of vs 10, everyone of the sons is who He tasted death for, not all of mankind without exception.

See Isa 53:11

He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.

Jesus tasted death for every man; everyone

Not every man will be justified, as it takes believing and therefore obeying the Gospel to be justified; saved, born again.

If we continue to look at Heb 2:9 and its context, lets look at Vs 9 and on: We can see who the all peratins to within the context We already seen in Vs 10 all the Sons are in view In Vs 11 we have them which are called the sanctified/brethren.

11 For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,

9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

11 For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,

12 Saying, I will declare thy name unto my brethren, in the midst of the church will I sing praise unto thee.

13 And again, I will put my trust in him. And again, Behold I and the children which God hath given me.

14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;

15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

16 For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.

17 Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.

18 For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.

You dont have to be restricted, as I dont have to be restricted, Im discussing from the context of Heb 2

Everyone of the Many Sons He tasted death for.

Jesus tasted death for whosoever will become the sons of God.

You have completely ignored my post #31 as it is translated "of-a-Deity over of-all" meaning all who are the whosoever's that come to Him and become the sons of God through Christ Jesus. John 3:16.

You are confusing the provision of divine transition from death to life being extended to "whomsoever", with the decision to accept what has been provided by the individual .
I can issue invitations to a party to ALL my family members, and the invitation may only be accepted by many of them.
This is one of the most basic of spiritual principles contained throughout the Word of God.

When Moses was commanded to hold up a serpent of brass on a pole to save from death, was it being held up that everyone who had been bitten may look upon it , or was it being held up so that just " many " of those bitten might look upon it and be saved ?

Understanding that there may very well have been those bitten who refused to look upon the brass serpent provided
for all who subsequently died in their negligence to accept what had been provided to everyone .
Which likewise means that only many of those bitten were saved from death .

" ....and it shall come to pass, that EVERYONE that is bitten , when he looketh , ( individual choice being made) ,
Shall Live ." ( Numbers 21:8 )
