I felt it was a reasonable request.... One with much thought put into it... HAHAHAYou want your cake and eat it too!
I pride myself in being a multi-tasker... I can handle both worries.... but snakes are #1 priority.... lolThe best way to quit being worried about snakes is to worry about alligators !
How do you quit worrying about alligators??The best way to quit being worried about snakes is to worry about alligators !
I would not go to bed.
Isilwen .... All jokes aside... ( and sorry for being the one responsible for de-railing your thread so badly )... I'm sure you can appreciate the conversation that has come from your OP.
I have watched some episodes of an exterminator... I think his name is Billy.... He does all kinds of pest removals... I was never able to watch the snake episodes.... but I quite marvelled at those hornet nest ones... Anyways... I hope we did not rain on your parade too much... for the NATURISTS... you are a hero.... for us SNAKE dis-likers... WE don't get it... lol
Well, that's what you get for trying to help a cottonmouth across the road. To each his own I suppose.

You are correct... absolutely every created thing has a purpose... I will admit the snake thing for me is beyond reasonable... It is a phobia... but not one that I wish to overcome... I am A-ok with my feelings and thoughts towards these creatures. I have heard this reference to the "garden".... I know for me... when I think of a snake... I do think of a serpent... so I believe there is truth to my mis-trust and repulsion.I keep reptiles, which includes snakes. I have three ball pythons and a western hognose. The pythons are constrictors, while the hognose is technically venomous. Their venom is medically insignificant to most. Plus, they're rear fanged, so they would need to chew on you to envenomate you.
For me, all snakes have a purpose in this world.
I was not bit. I know how to handle snakes. Yes, it got close, but not so close that I was too worried and I knew she was going to make that strike at me.

You have all made me grateful that I live in the Canadian North. LOL
I'm good with that response... LOLI think sometimes that what we call 'phobia' is just 'good sense' kicking in real hard.
So...what was the adventure?
As I said, to each his own. Myself, I would have made sure I ran over it.

Did you not understand that this would be a topic that would bring to light much emotion??Nevermind, not worth it.
It is always a good thing to save something in distress... that is the point I think
you were trying to make.
and I do believe that this said person.... also described having to fend for himself and family because snakes are a problem in his area.... and he has found some in his home. I don't think one can expect anyone to humanely trap and release a snake that is venomous in one's home.It is and I expected some phobia to come out, but not to hear that someone would deliberately run one over. That amounts to animal abuse!

Anyways... I saw that you were on line... and only posted to communicate with you. Bless you.

Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Luke 10:19
I guess it is a matter of perspective.
