My post was not an anti-vaccination post as I am definitely for vaccines and recommend people get them, including the flu vaccine. Just because the flu vaccine doesn't work for me doesn't mean it will not work for others. My mom, step-dad, girlfriend, and co-workers all get the flu shot and haven't gotten the flu.

I definitely recommend children receive all their shots and boosters.
I know, and that's fine. But your wondering about how much we can trust them and that's a good sign Brother. You are right to doubt and wonder. Deception is rampant. No one will care for you or your family more than you yourselves and Almighty God.

Have a plan. and a backup plan. We have the book of the truth. If we only read it.

No matter if COVID 19 began in a lab or not, there is coming upon the earth, various plagues and pestilence that the medical field will never have time to create a vaccine for.

And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. Matthew 24:4-7

Pestilence is a plague.

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the LORD,He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust.”

Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler
And from the perilous pestilence. Psalm 91:1-3

As for me, that disease tried to take hold of me, when I was exposed to someone who had tested positive. As soon as the symptoms began try and settle in on me I began to confess the word of God over myself and in Jesus name I broke the power of sickness off of me. I confessed I was healed by His stripes. Over and over I confessed the truth over my life by the leading of the Spirit, and eventually all symptoms left and I felt just fine.

Because you have made the LORD, who is my refuge,
Even the Most High, your dwelling place,
No evil shall befall you,
Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;
Psalms 91:9-10

This is one of the promises I confessed over myself and my household.

To me, the Gospel Imperative is learning by the Spirit to dwell, to continually remain in the secret place of the Most High, and to abide under the shadow of the Almighty…. So that no evil shall befall you, nor any plague come near your dwelling.

If this method is not for you (anyone reading) then please get to a doctor and take medicine. Don’t wait. You can still confess the promises of God and claim healing victory while also taking medication.

The answer is to fight and not give up. The devil is a liar.

who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed. 1 Peter 2:24

  • by whose stripes you were healed.

That’s some good stuff JLB .

Having spent the last 20 something years in the church of Christ, I can say they don’t teach the truth you just wrote. It has only been since just after Covid started when all the churches shut down with exception to the one my wife and I now attend.

They speak like you just spoke. It’s all new to me. But I can say this. Most of them won’t get vaccinated, and none of them have gotten sick.

when my wife got sick, she was all in. That’s why she wouldn’t see a doctor. So I don’t know what to make of all of it yet.

This is a Christian forum.
We should be looking to God for answers to this virus.
I believe Psalm 91 says it all.

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. a
2I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”
3Surely he will save you
from the fowler’s snare
and from the deadly pestilence.
4He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
5You will not fear the terror of night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
6nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
nor the plague that destroys at midday.
7A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
8You will only observe with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.
9If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,”
and you make the Most High your dwelling,
10no harm will overtake you,
no disaster will come near your tent.
11For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways;
12they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
13You will tread on the lion and the cobra;
you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
14“Because he b loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him;
I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
15He will call on me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble,
I will deliver him and honor him.
16With long life I will satisfy him
and show him my salvation.”

When I've read this in the past I've always thought how God protected his people from the Black Plague.
The Law taught them to be clean and kosher and this protected them from the plague.

Today we are in the presence of pestilence and plague.
Be safe however you can, but ultimately, put your trust in God.

wondering
why do presume others don't

the apostles healed and Paul was told he was going to die as did peter

who allowed it ,Satan nope God did for what purpose ?
his own

no human will leave alive if the Lord doesnt return

I bet you that say this when it lightning stops working ,I don't ,I have walked in lightning and hail.my job forces me .

our bodies fail ,a disease of some sort causes death .

sepsis ,cancer and do forth ,if God healed every ailment Paul wouldn't suggest whine for sick stomachs or how God was merciful in sparing Timothy .

trust in God might mean God sends you to die for his pleasure

Matthew 23

and I will send you prophets ,so that their blood will be upon you

God knowingly allowing his own to die .

I don't fear death

Where did you get all that from?
Certainly not my post.

We should not be pressured to take a vaccine under duress.
Not sure what you mean by "duress". If someone went into a public place with a loaded machine gun that we all know will occasionally go off by accident, should we not, at the very least, apply very strong forms of social pressure to get them to not do so?

This is exactly what is going on here with covid - unvaccinated people who venture forth are needlessly placing others at some risk of serious illness and death.

If that does not merit strong "pressure" to come to heel, what does?

Not even close.

Trying to compare catching COVID with someone shooting people with a machine gun is just your desperate ploy to cloud the issue.

How does machine guns going off accidentally have anything to do with the OP; Gospel narrative?

Everyone should be able to research for themselves, and make a decision on which vaccine to take or not take.
Everyone can do this, but it is not a wise way to proceed.

The reason is that, of course, almost none of us have the time and expertise to properly evaluate the data.

And we all know how your recommendation has played out in this pandemic. Those who are looking for a reason to avoid the vaccine will cherry-pick those few studies that support their position while discounting the mountains of studies that challenge their view.

Let us be clear: a fair appraisal of the complete picture leads to only one conclusion: While there are no guarantees that this is the right way to proceed, the best evidence and knowledge we have indicates that people should take the vaccine.

death .trust God to protect you implies you won't get sick .
you might ,

you agreed to post psalm 91 that says no pestilrmce shall befall upon thee if you are dwelling in the lord

plenty of saints die from the flu I personally know a few that dI'd.

you can't claim a promise and then say well now God didn't say you wouldn't but here thisvprotection verse to pray over the pestilence

Have you ever shot a machine gun ?

You are entitled to your opinion.

Is everyone esle entitled to theirs?

You made a claim that "vaccines cause cancer, period".

Where is your evidence?

Where is your evidence that the vaccine doesnt cause cancer.

Lots and lots of medications that doctors prescribed 5-10 years ago have been discoveted to cause cancer.

I believe that the COVID vaccine can be harmful or fatal to some people.
So do I.

Just like some people will be killed because they were wearing a seatbelt (i.e. they would have survived if they had not been wearing one).

Is this a reason to not wear the seatbelt.

The best evidence we have shows that the risks of not getting the vaccine are greater than the risks of getting it.

I like you, Isilwen because you stand up for what you believe in even though it's not the popular side of the vote so to speak, lol. That takes courage and presence of mind and you do and it shows because you are being humble and soft spoken and polite and respectful to everyone about it while presenting your views. That's very cool and I appreciate it.

I think you have better delivery than the other prolific poster on this topic. He seems very contentious and you seem the opposite almost.

Even if you are wrong, Lol! :wink

I quoted Psalm 91
Then I said "be safe however you can, but ultimately, put your trust in God".
It sounds like you have no trust in God.
Why?
Do you wake up everyday?
Do you breathe everyday?
Are you trusting God he will wake you up and give you breath?
Or don't you ever thank him for that.
Maybe you think you have a right to wake up and breathe.
I'm not sure if they have a vaccine that will help you with that.

You are entitled to your opinion.

Is everyone esle entitled to theirs?

JLB
When did I ever suggest that people are not entitled to their opinion?

You are "entitled" to your opinion.

But if your actions that arise out of that opinion endanger others, I am entitled, nay obligated, to speak out against your opinion.

It is deeply misleading to even frame this issue in terms of opinion.

Pepsi vs Coke? Yes, opinion.

Covid vaccine? No - we have enough hard data to enable to treat this decision as a question of matters of fact, not opinions.
