“We must therefore simply assert that the Mother of God, as she was a virgin in conceiving Him and a virgin in giving Him birth, did she remain a virgin ever afterwards."

The blessed Mary mother of God, is a perpetual virgin to the glory of God!
There is nothing in the Bible that says that Mary is (was) a "perpetual virgin". She was a teenager chosen by God to give birth to Jesus, followed by his brothers (and sisters?). Since it's not stated anywhere in the Bible that Jesus' siblings were the result of more births without intercourse, it's obvious that she was a virgin for Jesus' pregnancy only.

Sola scriptura.

Do you always contradict yourself?
There are no denominations in the Bible only one true church founded by Christ on peter and the apostles Matt 16:18 18:18 jn 20:21-23 eph 2:20
Are you saying only the Roman Catholic church was founded by Christ?

Actually, none of them were named "Mary", which is an Anglo-Saxon name. They were actually named "Miriam".
Apples and oranges, Mary, Miriam, Maria take your pick as they are all the same. How many names did Jesus go by as Jesus is not His proper name.

Are you saying only the Roman Catholic church was founded by Christ?
That is what the RCC claims, even though a) the word "Catholic" doesn't appear in the Bible and b) there are quite a few churches mentioned in the New Testament. IMHO it is just non-Biblical self-aggrandizement.

God didn't need a mother, as He has always existed.
Jesus, the Word, needed a mother in order to be manifested in the flesh.

I never said that Mary was the mother or source of the divine nature
But the mother of God
Mother of a Jesus who is God

Why scripture alone? Where the Bible say scripture alone?
It does day perpetual virgin
Isa 7:14 a son singular
Matt 1:23 Same
Lk 1: 34 Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? No sex period

brothers of Jesus does not mean children of Mary could be cousins as lot and Abraham uncle and nephew are called brother in scripture
And the twelve sons of Jacob are all brothers but have four different mothers

I have been as specific as I care to be. Again, it is really, really wrong to take some earthly (non-Biblical) doctrine based on one's culture and apply that as some universal truth revealed by God.

Sola scriptura.
Ok mother of God is biblical Lk 1;43
Mother of our salvation Lk 2:30
And cos she consented to our salvation Lk 1:38

According to the Bible... That is the only truth that matters, not the extra-Biblical doctrinal inventions of men.

Of course Isaiah 7:14 is singular; Mary didn't have twins or triplets or quadruplets when pregnant with Jesus.
All Luke 1:34 is saying is that Mary didn't have intercourse prior to her being pregnant with Jesus. It says nothing about her being a virgin forever. That is the invention of some men who want to believe otherwise, but it's not Biblical.

Saying that the "brothers of Jesus does not mean children of Mary" is non-Biblical sophistry. The NET Bible translator's note on Matthew 12:46 says "The issue of whether Jesus had brothers (siblings) has had a long history in the church. Epiphanius, in the 4th century, argued that Mary was a perpetual virgin and had no offspring other than Jesus. Others argued that these brothers were really cousins. Nothing in the text suggests any of this. [my emphasis] See also John 7:3."

To say otherwise is manufactured, forced ideology. Sola scriptura.

There is only one church Jn 10;16
John 10:16, "I have other sheep that do not come from this sheepfold. I must bring them too, and they will listen to my voice, so that there will be one flock and one shepherd." A flock consists of many sheep; there are many NT churches. They are mentioned throughout the New Testament, yet the Catholic denomination is not mentioned even once in the entire Bible.

Biblical Mary:

Mother of God Lk 1:43

But why is this granted to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? Luke 1:43

This verse doesn’t mention Mary as the mother of God.

Remember, Jesus Christ became flesh, he became a man, a flesh and blood man, born of a virgin, for sure, but as a man.

For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, 1 Timothy 2:5

He often referred to Himself as the son of man.

God on the other hand is Spirit.

God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth. John 4:24

We honor Mary as the mother of our Lord. We also know she had other children after Jesus.

Then His mother and brothers came to Him, and could not approach Him because of the crowd. And it was told Him by some, who said, “Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside, desiring to see You.”
But He answered and said to them, “My mother and My brothers are these who hear the word of God and do it.” Luke 8:19-21

Please consider these verses.

God bless you.

There is only one church Jn 10;16
John 10:16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

What Jesus is referring to in the full context of chapter 10 is that Israel are His sheep in who hears His voice and follows Him and the other sheep are the Gentiles who also heard Him speak and followed after Him.

Jew and Gentile make up the body of Christ with He being the head of the body that is God's true Church. Has nothing to do with denominations or non-denominations as God does not recognize organized religion, but only knows His own by what is in their hearts.

And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. Revelation 12:17

So at least you admit Mary had other children.

Good start.

Yes, Mary has many spiritual children: Those who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Isa 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

Mat 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
Mat 1:24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:
Mat 1:25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.

Luke 1:34 Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?

What else is there other than the word of God for us to learn from. Nowhere in those verses you gave say anything about Mary being a perpetual virgin. Mary was a virgin when she was conceived by the Holy Spirit as that is agreed upon by all and Joseph did marry her during her pregnancy, but abstained from the yichud until Jesus was born.

We have shown you with scripture Mary and Joseph had other children as Joseph knew her not until Jesus was born as there after the yichud was performed which is Jewish tradition. You blow off the scriptures believing only that of mans traditional teachings that are taught in many denominations and non-denominations that Mary remained a virgin all her life, but is nowhere found in the word of God. Catholics have made Mary nothing more than an idol made by hands to be bowed down to, prayed to and worshipped as she is lifted up higher than Christ Jesus. We have been through this many times with you in the other thread. What is your purpose in starting another thread on this.

2Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
2Timothy 2:16 But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.

Isa 7:14 a son singular
When our first daughter was born, one could have only said that my wife gave birth to a daughter.....singular. Two years later she went on to have another baby girl and at that time she also gave birth to a daughter....singular. So what?

Although I agree that Miriam (Mary) had children other than Jesus, this verse doesn't prove your point.
