Show proof God does not elect His people, corporately and individually.
Of course election is a Biblical truth.
It's Calvin's understanding of it that is in dispute.

It all boils down to one thing.
We all know that without God's husbandry no piece of 'land', no human heart would retain and bring the word of God to fruition. The question is did God purposely choose some 'land' to be created with the potential to respond favorably to the word of God, and some to not have the potential to respond favorably to God's husbandry? The Bible doesn't actually say.

So God 'choosing/electing' is not what is in debate. WHAT God chooses is.

But here you are in my threads trying to refute them and failing miserably.

Are you not one of the many here trying to teach things you clearly have no knowledge of?

Grace and peace to you.
None of us know anything EBH.
Only Calvinists have the truth.
Everyone else is extremely foolish and ignorant of the things of God.
Pride is a sin you know.
Jesus said we should be humble.
Matthew 5 The Beatitudes.
Why are calvinists so unhumble?

Funny, I was thinking the same about Arminians. It seems to me that those who come against the Doctrines of Grace are anything but humble.

I would say that the reformed doctrine is extremely humble by giving all the glory to the Lord in Salvation and other doctrines one calls Calvinistic.

Is it really worth it anymore? Any doctrine, teaching, devotional, etc., that does not conform to ones thought process will come under fire. We are all guilty of this.

Grace and peace to you.

Insanity debating endlessly trying to change another on a forum .

Yeah I have done it .I can say I have shifted on eschatology and a smidgeon on politics .I was more conservative but have more of a slight libertarian lean then before .

I would find it more profitable in applying what I do know to my life then posting here ad naiseum .

I'm sure in our epitaph it won't read an wondering was changed to reformed by my posts .I'm sure my wife ,her children will put that on my headstone .oh wait .no when my dad died none of this foolishness happened .my reformed pastor preached on the need to be saved,he never met my dad ,he spoke to my mom ,brother and me about dad.he didn't know that my coworker Brian a pentacostal Arminian held Bible studies with my dad ,that an elder of the most freewill type ( pastor is former umc) led my dad to Christ . Both men cried as my dad was laid to rest and rejoiced in his eternal soul salvation .

But carry on with the need to correct on a forum where usernames and avatars are a way of hiding ourselves.all in the name of "fellowship".

There is function on the phone or device ,scrolling .one can use it.

I have .I do read these but I'm not going to endless debate this .the man is thanking God saved him .I see nothing wrong there .

I think she means the pride of thinking Calvinists know it all. I have to agree with her. I'm very open to the matters that Calvinists define and defend. I don't think I've ever encountered a Calvinist who was open to honest and calm examination of these issues. Arrogance does seem to be the trait of the Calvinist.

I do not know that for certain.

I was raised Roman Catholic, lived with Pentecostals for a few years (Pentecostal homeless shelter after Prison). I have been around and the doctrines and tried to understand it from their view. I used to think as the Arminian does, free will to choose God, one can lose their salvation and the rest, especially easy-believism.

Study of Gods word has changed me from the inside to not believe those teachings.

Grace and peace to you.

Jason, You've known me for many years now.
You know very well that I don't continue on ad nauseum.
I've done this for only 2 reasons, if I remember correctly.

One is works. People that believe works are not necessary are not only in danger themselves, but they put others in danger that might listen because it makes Christianity sound so simple and easy, when, in reality, we are required to change our lives and live within the Kingdom of God on earth.

The other reason is this reformed, or calvinist, belief system.
The reason I don't like it is because it changes the nature of God in every way.
Also, it makes persons not seek God because they believe God will somehow find them.

So I DO NOT post to try to change anyone, but to make sure that if anyone is reading along, they will also consider the other side.

Calvinists are very sneaky in how they speak of their beliefs.
They try to sound mainline, when, in reality, they aren't.
I find this to be very dishonest.

This is simply false. I know no one of the Reformed faith who believes that, and if they do, it is wrong.

Calvinists are very sneaky in how they speak of their beliefs.
They try to sound mainline, when, in reality, they aren't.
I find this to be very dishonest.

Again, I do not find this to be true, and you yourself label me a Calvinist.

Grace and peace to you.

Unlike the arminists who ordain women ?
Assembly of God ,church of God ,even Baptist now are ,united Methodist Church and some Nazarenes .anglican and Episcopalians.
Calvary chapel is headed that way too and also Christian missionary alliance .

I guess your right the reformed simply arent mainstream I should leave me church post haste and fall under the female pentacostals,or arminists listed above .

You post quickly in the the reformed posts.

Sorry but you do .

The gate goes both ways.i consider a minor but we'll show me a female pastor in antiquity and elder before John and Charles Wesley .good luck .

There are reformed jerks and arminist jerks .

I left this page over the latter for a few months . I can call my pastor to pray and seek help and he shows up .

That is more then enough .he knows where I stand and I'm not reformed . It's not required to be a member .to be an elder yes .but we'll i can post videos of a pca pastor who if I didn't even mentioned then church you would think he is arminist and he isn't .he just words it different or focus on the way of the cross not how God elects but rather what you must Do to be elected.

John McArthur has given sermons on how his congregation is to be thoughtful of those that are not chosen by God to be saved and how they are not to be superior in attitude.

If he does this, it means that it's necessary.

As to the Doctrine of Grace.
Where does the bible speak about the Doctrine of Grace?
And what grace would that be?
The God of calvinism seems to be devoid of grace.
A God of grace has love for all His creation, not only for those that He wishes to save for some reason that we're not even aware of because it's a mystery.

God doesn't need your glory.
God needs you to understand how He is. His nature.
You really think God created us to show off His glory?
That's sick.

What kind of a weak God do you serve anyway?
He's afraid to give His creation free will.
He needs to be glorified by them.
He needs to choose who will be saved because He maybe fears that no one will really choose Him out of love.

He's a weak God indeed.
A sovereign God is not afraid to dispense free will.
A sovereign God wants real love from His people...not forced love.

I don't agree with female pastors.
The church is crumbling.
There must be some denominations that are biblically based.

Don't confuse the vocally loud caged Calvinist with all of them.

My pastor has preached it's by grace and the elders say that .they are staunch reformed and don't act arrogant

One elder has sang at an arminist Baptist Church his dad attends and also his daughter attends one near where my granddaughter lives .

No.they aren't .

It's rare I hunt churches if I go to ga.rjese are pre civil war and they are very traditional but are dying .

My wife's family friends her in laws married the Simmons and had kids and my step kids are related to that old ga family .they lie in a grave yard of an old Baptist church that dates to 1870 .they are not reformed . They allow some women to teach men in Sunday school but oddly not in elders .

Now I'm not a stickler on that but it is debatable on that .it's more common in the arminist circles to do that.tjr reformed teach why Luther was right .are hardcore on the Trinity and why words have meanings .

You sinoly are gonna find that less common in arminist .it exists but not as they see it.

I was once pentacistal and had no rhyme against female elders.

My church rents to a church that is Spanish only that does that .every church has that out there thing .try not to get hung up on that .

I don't .

This is simply false. I know no one of the Reformed faith who believes that, and if they do, it is wrong.

Here's what I posted that you believe is false:

The other reason is this reformed, or calvinist, belief system.
The reason I don't like it is because it changes the nature of God in every way.
Also, it makes persons not seek God because they believe God will somehow find them.

What is false?
1. You've changed God from a loving, merciful and just God to a God that
has no love, no mercy and no justice for His creation.

Please explain how God, under the calvinist paradigm, is LOVING, MERCIFUL AND JUST.

2. If you're a calvinist, you believe God chooses who will be saved.
Why would anyone seek God when you tell them they're so depraved they are unable to seek God UNLESS He pulls them up to Him, AT HIS WHIM.

How could you tell me what I believe is false?
They above are both true.
Maybe you don't understand calvinism???

Again, I do not find this to be true, and you yourself label me a Calvinist.

Grace and peace to you.
Here's the other part of my post you do not find to be true:

Calvinists are very sneaky in how they speak of their beliefs.
They try to sound mainline, when, in reality, they aren't.
I find this to be very dishonest.

My goodness man, you're doing it right now!
Your stating my post is wrong when you should know very well, being an admitted calvinist, that everything I've posted is 100% correct.

Do I need to post some stuff?
Do you want it from John Calvin's Institutes or from Confession that you follow?
I know the Westminster Confession of Faith.
And why would I even NEED to post calvinist beliefs?
Don't YOU know what they are?

No.they aren't .

Go to a Catholic Church.
I'm half thinking about getting back into it.

I used to think as the Arminian does, free will to choose God, one can lose their salvation and the rest, especially easy-believism.

FYI: I have always believed in OSAS and have defended it staunchly and repeatedly against very...stiff opposition. I did this, though, not as a Calvinist, but as someone whose soteriological views are a mix of Provisionism and Molinism. I also greatly oppose the notion of "easy believism," or cheap grace, as it is sometimes also called. Again, though, I do as a non-Calvinist.

It's not a good idea to paint with too broad a brush. This is what the racist does, right? He says stuff like, "All black folk are the same; all white folk are the same; all Asian folk are the same." In the same way, casting all Calvinists (or their opponents) in the same mold, tends toward caricatures, distortions of what is actually the case and employs the faulty, over-generalizing thinking of the racist.

A church of idolatry ?
No

Lay plants as they do each season towards saint Helens the patron saint name sake .

As a women had to have an abortion the local Catholic that do continualky go there say Jesus loves you ,versus the deacon my church that teaches repent it's murder ! You will be judged over that .they offer the gospel not some half gospel that implies little to nothing on actually needing to change .

The papists ,seriously I'm hardly that way. .

There are several reformed churches I can go to should mine go south .one whose pastor recently died and started the only Bible based aa meetings and houses addicts to pull them out of that.they feed the poor along with my church .that half way house ,asked for help out elders asusted and others in cooking meals .I know that ministry from work .they bought the apts on a route I have and made 10 units for them . They also have services in Spanish and Portuguese and English . Pastor ball was big on reaching the lost .and adducts in particular.

One of the newer pastors I know .he is a former Anglican who well left his church for a sad reason and roger took him in.

You never know when you might have something to say.

I appreciated your post to which I responded BTW.
