Im slightly skeptical about Jesus?

So why do you use the forums
I don't use forums for answers, and if a person wants to have faith, they should know that faith is a Spirit, and that is God, as it is the faith of Jesus Christ.

This world is the devils, and what else can the devil use but people, to deceive people, and that has to be those who claim to have belief in Jesus Christ, as that is the spirit of antichrist. ( directly against the Spirit of the faith of Jesus Christ.)

For anyone to be saved ( from unbelief, which is sin.) it is by believing in Jesus Christ on the cross for us, dying in our place, in the love He showed He alone has for us, and they then believe in love, which is belief in God, as God is love. then they also walk in love, and no longer for everything they want out of this life, which the role of the deceivers, are to convince everyone to remain self seeking, and trusting in what people think is right, instead of the only thing that is right, which is the kindness of our Saviour Jesus Christ. (nobody else has that kindness, that is why nobody else can testify a single word of truth, as truth is the Spirit also, John 14:17, and it is why there is never preaching of the cross on forums, as you can read with me and understand below in 1 Corinthians 1:17, how their discussions of baptism, and their wisdom of words, only makes the cross of Christ of none effect.)

Romans 3:22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

1 Corinthians 1:17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.

1 Corinthians 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

1 Corinthians 1:21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

1 Corinthians 13:4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;

2 Corinthians 4:13 We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;

Titus 3:4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,
5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

1 John 4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

No offense but I don't really want people telling me how to use the forum. This attitude is why youths aren't seeking religion. They are pushed away because their method of seeking isn't the "right way". Good day to you

I've been pretty nice but this really ruffles my feathers because this is exactly why young people don't seek religion. People like you shouldn't be saying stuff like this but instead commending youth for seeking God instead of the easy temptation route most do.

And since you've readily offered me so much advice I didn't ask for I will give you some: when someone repeatedly expresses their gratitude and is polite, saying you're welcome wouldn't go amiss. :)

Nothing stops people seeking God, apart from the fact that they have no interest in what is right.

If a person hungers and thirsts for righteousness, they cant seek that from anyone but God, and that is exactly why God confirms they shall be filled. ( that they did go only to God to be filled with HIs righteousness.)

Matthew 5:6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

God testifies truth to us, if a person wants lies, the forums, this world, all things but the testimony of Jesus Christ on the cross ( truth) are the lies they choose.

1 John 4:6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

That also is why I am on the forums, because Gods truth has swept away all refuge of lies.

Isaiah 28:17 Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place.

I went to public school most of my life and it wad always drilled into my head to be skeptical about everything. Always ask questions and don't take anything at face value.

It has served me well throughout the years, but it's also made it difficult to live as a Christian. I would get into arguments with friends just for asking questions and being skeptical about certain stories in the bible.

I remember one time we had two new people show up at the youth group. They expressed their skepticism in front of everyone, and the pastor's response was "Well, what are you doing here then?". I just shook my head at his lack of awareness. Of course, they never came back.

This seems to be the norm among religious folk. They don't like they're beliefs being challenged. But Jesus was always being challenged and he would take the time to hear people out and address the skepticism in a productive way.

The bible is the testimony of Jesus Christ, beginning with Adam, who was made a living soul, and the second man, ( the Lord from Heaven/the last Adam) was made a quickening Spirit.

All in Adam die, and so all in Jesus shall be made alive.

1 Corinthians 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

1 Corinthians 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
46 Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.
47 The first man is of the earth, earthy; the second man is the Lord from heaven.

There is no good skepticism about Jesus Christ, and the same answer that Christ gave to the skeptics applies, if they do not believe that Jesus Christ is Lord, they shall die in their sins. ( doubt and you are damned.)

John 8:24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.

Romans 14:23 And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.

So basically I just need to have faith (pun intended haha)

I will do this but I still want to ask for forgiveness if I get anything wrong while trying to follow the creator's word.

You have been given good advice. You asked a honest and good question. So what should you do? You should take your doubts to the Lord in prayer and speak your heart to Him. (He already knows your heart and thoughts anyway)

Ask the Lord, You know I have doubts. I want to know you. Please show yourself to me, reveal yourself Lord. And be expecting Him to answer you. Maybe not instantly maybe so. But if He is answering a prayer for you then He will confirm it for you.

Matthew 7: 7-8
7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.../KJV

Those are promises. Ask the Lord to fulfill these for you. Here I am Lord, I'm asking and knocking on your door. Are you real?

All those good scriptures you said you like. Those all can be seen as instruction to read your Bible even more than you used to. Scripture is the primary way that the Lord speaks to us. As you read it, He will make verses just jump out at you and you will think, that sounds like me. He is talking to me. There will be no mistake.

My favorite phrase: Here I am Lord!

Jesus didn't resurrect from the dead in the tomb and then roll open the stone and go on His merry way...

Jesus reurrected in the tomb and went on His merry way from there. He didn't move the stone. He was in a reurrection body, a good one! One that can walk through walls. Why else would they have to send an Angel to open it for the women who would be coming? So they could see in the empty tomb, and confirm it for them by witness.

It is confirmed in scripture that Jesus could do these things. Later on when the disciples were in the upper room behind a locked door, Jesus just pops into the room and says, peace be with you...! I bet He scared the pee out of them disciples, lol!

Can you notice ( anyone on this forum ?) that to pray saying I have doubts, is the opposite to what we are told by Christ ?

If any lacks the wisdom of God ( the Holy Spirit.) they ask of God and He gives. ( BUT) let him ask in faith, nothing wavering ( without doubting) for let not that man ( that wavers/doubts) think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

Jesus taught exactly that, if we have faith, ( AND DOUBT NOT) all things whatsoever we ask in prayer, ( BELIEVING) we shall receive. ( to receive the Spirit, is to those which believe on Him. John 7:39)

James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

Matthew 21:21 Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.
22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.

Clearly those who believe on Jesus ( without doubting) receive the Spirit:

John 7:39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

Ask and it shall be given, seek and find, knock and it shall be opened. ( our Father in Heaven gives good things to those who ask Him.)

For every one that asks, receives, and he that seeks, finds, and to him that knocks it shall be opened. ( your Heavenly Father shall give the Holy Spirit to them that ask Him.)

Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

Matthew 7:11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

Luke 11:10 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

Luke 11:13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

What we ask the Father, in the name of Christ we receive. We ask in His name, ask and we shall receive, that our joy may be full.

Christ showed us plainly of the Father, ( to ask, believing, not doubting, so we receive) and at that day we ask in His name, and Jesus does not need to pray for us, because we love the Son and BELIEVE, that he came out from God.

Jesus came to the Father, and spoke these things in the world, for His joy may be fulfilled in us. ( to believe that Christ rose from the dead to go to the Father, for us to ask believing, and to receive.)

These are written, that we might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that BELIEVING WE MIGHT HAVE LIFE THROUGH HIS NAME. ( ask believing, not doubting, and we receive in His name.)

John 16:23 And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.
24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.
25 These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father.
26 At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you:
27 For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.

John 17:13 And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.

John 20:31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

Just go away please. You are rude and condescending.

Just go away please. You are rude and condescending.

1 Peter 3:14 But and if ye suffer for righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled;
15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
16 Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ.
17 For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.
18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

2 Peter 2:10 But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.

Jude 1:8 Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.

There is no doubt of Jesus Christ, people believe strongly enough in the devil, ( to do, think and speak evil) so the ones who do, think and speak good, ( have no doubt in Christ.) believe strongly in Jesus Christ their Lord and Saviour. ( in all things including the accusations, and persecutions that Christ endured for us, to follow after in His same examples.)

You seem to be making the point that God don't want to hear from you if you are angry or have doubts. Right?

That couldn't be further from the truth. Most people don't want to pray when they have doubts or are angry about something. Doubts and fears can be some of the most sensitive issues from the heart so I can understand that. God still wants to hear from you though. So if you talk the young lady into not praying and tell her that God will tell you to come back when you have more faith, then you would be doing her a disservice. But I doubt you will understand that and the fact remains, you could not be more wrong about what you said. Not the scriptures, the scriptures are always good but they have nothing to do with what you are wrong about.

Tonight for my prayer I asked God for clarity on the Jesus thing and explained my fears to him amongst other things. I've started writing my prayers out in a prayer journal as well it's quite helpful to be honest
