It's easier to spot liars thou. You see my fishing buddy I know him too well. Sending me photos and on social media of his fish and claimed the biggest was over 12lb. Nice deceptive photo to make the fish look bigger, and I never known him to have scales and weigh his fish he always claims, must only pull out the secret scales when im not there. Oh, and of course he lost a 20lber.

You cannot bs someone who knows bs.

Can take a photo of the fish on a specific angle looking big, but just somehow cannot show a photo of it on the secret scales no know one has ever seen weighing 12lb.

So many BS's out there. Oh they got a sore wrist and back so they can't work, next thing you see them riding a motorcycle around the country showing photos boasting there life and travels. Got a sore shoulder but can cast a fishing rod 250 meters no problem.

Challenged someone to a bowling comp and every bowl apparently it was the clothes they wearing fault, acting like it's the clothes they wearing fault so they cant bowl properly, then they bowl a good bowl and suddenly there clothes are a perfect fit, no problem, they suddenly just skilled and a good player.

Say I'm just curious what all the hubbub is about.

Why is Flat Earth the absolute worst thing I could possibly ask a question about on a Christian Forum?

We can discuss satan and child rape and child trafficking and demon worship and all doctrines of all kinds from all other religions, but say a single word about Flat Earth and you are swarmed, attacked, mocked, ridiculed and your words/threads are removed, if you aren't outright banned.

Why is this concept such a threat?

Think about it. If I were to go around pushing the idea that something completely unbiblical, and totally asinine, were the truth, most wouldn't even pay any attention. A few would speak up and correct me, but most would just look upon me like we look at an ignorant child that doesn't know any better. No frills, no chaos.

Why? Why is the Flat Earth the absolute unspeakable evil on every Christian Discussion Forum, much less any social media forum?

What gives? Why is it SO threatening?
It doesn't matter, it is simply ignorance. Anybody can get on a plane today and fly around the earth, simply proving the fallacy as being false.

Water is wet and the earth is flat – which is sad news for conspiracy theorist Bob Knodel. Knodel is a proud Flat-Earther who was so confident in the theory that he spent a whopping $20,000 on an experiment that ironically concluded that the Earth is round.
The conspiracy theorist has a YouTube channel that is dedicated to proving that the Earth is flat and the channel has developed a community.
Knodel wanted to prove naysayers wrong, so he spent $20,000 on a laser gyroscope that he was sure would highlight that the planet does not rotate. The experiment took place in the Netflix documentary Behind the Curve where it was revealed that the Earth is actually round (shock horror).
However, using a gyroscope he discovered that there was a “drift” that was collected each hour.
“What we found is, when we turned on that gyroscope, we found that we were picking up a drift. A 15-degree per hour drift,” he says.

And yes, 15 times 24 is 360, if you were wondering.

And I should make clear that I'm not making fun of this guy. He showed a commendable willingness to test his ideas and the integrity to admit that he got results which are difficult for him to explain in his theory. This exact thing is what produces scientific break-thoughs, even if it's pretty uncomfortable to experience.

I was going to say just that. He really did his money where his mouth is.

Why is the subject of this OP actually being discussed by rational adults?
I think it's good to occasionally revisit topics we consider settled. Mainly because we can become lazy and forget the reasoning as to why we hold a stance to begin with. For a l9ng time it was scoffed at to think that anyone would think the Earth is flat, then from 2015 to 2017 it became a decent sized movement with a cottage industry.

Sometimes we over assume everyone is on the same page.

There is some evidence that it began as a joke, but of course in the age of COVID-19 conspiracy theories, it took right off.

The guy you talking about who tested the science for flat earth and found it to be round, that's what people do and as you said you not going to make fun of someone who is testing the science and is sceptical.

There were not that many covid 19 conspiracy theorists. A very very tiny minority believed and probably still do believe the virus doesnt exist when the science and evidence proves otherwise.

Basically everyone believed and knows its real and the science. Aside from that it was just a debate and concern to some about the coercion over a vaccine.
