What this text is not suggesting is that Satan in any sense is "lord" or "king" of the world after the resurrection of Jesus. Many people believe that, this side of the cross, Satan is still "the lord of this world".

That is not what the Bible teaches. Thankfully, the ruler of this present world is the Lord Jesus Christ.

I think the prince of this world wants us all to bow down to him, even though he has not earned our respect.

Satan is the prince of the powers of the unseen world around us.
