I consider it an interesting health habit. The aroma brings me back to the days as a youth and relieves any tension and anxiety, especially since I basically only drive into and out of work 10 miles 3 days a week takes my mind off the thought of a job I can care less about.
Of course if I have the windows up, I can only burn it about 5 minutes just enough to get the scent all around due to the poor ventilation; I don't make my car smoky. But during the summer time like this, I have the windows fully down, and I realize probably I am letting 99% of the smoke out of the windows, but what circulates around gives a nice, calming atmosphere, so due to the pleasantness, I don't consider my money "going up in smoke" or consider it a loss.
Usually I burn Sandalwood which according to one site is "Burned to exorcise demons and evil ghosts, conjure beneficial spirits, and promote spiritual awareness."
Of course my "demons" are the thoughts I have not liking my job, and I exorcise that by the pleasant aroma taking me back to happier times --- a certain feeling that things are normal again.
