IQ & Christianity Correlation?

questdriven:

Flair in arts and languages, etc., can't be measured by such grading, anyway. Or not that I know of. Being musical, as you are, often involved highly developed sensibilities; from Bach chamber music to heavy metal, muscial knowledge involves a wide range of appreciative skills (as you as a hard rock / heavy metal woman would know). BTW, there are more posts on the other thread, too, about metal.

So I'm sure that IQ tests have their value, but they certainly don't tell the whole story.

Blessings.
True.

I got a low score on the IQ test I mentioned, but math is my worst subject. I actually score higher than average on other things, such as reading comprehension.

My dad once told me that some rock songs actually borrow a few melodies from classical music, and maybe change them up a bit or something. Not sure if that's true or not.

Yes, well, Benny Andersson of Abba lists Bach as a major influence. There is even a recording of Bach played by Benny Anderssons Orkester on Youtube. Bach counterpoint is a kind of latent background to some of the Abba songs, I think.

Cool =)
I like Abba's song The Dancing Queen. :)

I think I'm getting off topic now. xD

I was 17 when I first heard it. :) (That was only a couple years ago.)

questdriven:

It's actually well over 30 years old. About 35 years old, in fact.

I'm sure that you prefer to be a Godly young women, rather than the dancing queen of the song that pursues men, though.

To return to the theme: music (and art) are highly developed disciplines of study, to which you seem to be inclined in one way or another. So you'll have plenty of options, I guess.

Blessings.

I know. :) I don't know a ton of songs from back then, but I like the sound a lot of what I have heard.

And, yes, I wouldn't want to be the girl in the song. I just like the way the music and voices combined sound.

I looked it up once. I've listened to a few other songs by the same band. A friend of mine had a movie called Mama Mia that was based off of songs by Abba.

Yes, well, it's a very melodious sound that is identified with Abba. One of Benny Andersson's strong influences and interests is Swedish folk music, to which he devotes himself considerably now, still.

I think that since you are also into hard rock / heavy metal, some of Abba would probably be quite soft in comparison. Seems that you would possibly prefer a sustained and rugged, raw sound from a hard rock band that has lots of throaty lyrics; this is why Abba would classify as soft rock instead.

Although I do think hard rock is my favorite, I tend to like rock in general. :)

I took one of those online tests and it said I'm a genius! :idea I think the real test was whether I thought the test was accurate or not ;)

Most of the online IQ tests I've taken always ask for personal information, or my cell phone number. I don't have my own cell phone right now, and even if I did, I wouldn't give it to them. :rollingpin
So anyway, I only found one that didn't ask for personal information, so that's the only one that gave me my score.

Yes, well you've definitely given the impression, anyway, that the elemental, confident and even rough, hard rock sound is what you really like.

I do think that an appreciation for one genre, ought not, and does not, exclude an appreciation for another, or various other, musical genres and styles.

Blessings.

G: Sometimes the Online tests can be a bit unrepresentative, I guess.

(Not denying your genius, mind...)

Here's one of my fav sites. It's chock full of cool tests. IQ, personality, all sorts of stuff. Very cool. I've always been a good test taker and enjoy testing myself.
