Jesus died bodily even though He was sinless, so I see no reason why Adam and Eve were ever intended for an eternal physical life before their first sin.
God's intent was for Jesus to die for the sins of the world, because He see's the end from the beginning and works all things according to the counsel of His will.
as it is written -
He indeed was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you 1 Peter 1:20
As I said, from the scriptures that I gave, I believe it was God's intent for them to live forever, however He gave them a free will and a choice to choose whether to obey.
as it is written -
35 But those who are counted worthy to attain that age, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry nor are given in marriage; 36 nor can they die anymore, for they are equal to the angels and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection. Luke 20:35-36
In this scripture, I see God's intent for Mankind from the beginning, as His intent was carried out in spite of man's rebellion.
In the beginning, mankind could have reproduced from perfect, sinless bodies with full dominion over the earth as Jesus displayed, without all the suffering to mankind as well as to the earth and the effects sin had upon the animal kingdom.
Jesus will restore all things to back to His original state, however He will cleanse the heaven and the earth by fire to do so.
That's the way I see it.
Otherwise, why all the suffering on everyone's part.
