I think you are missing something here. These tithes didn't just pay for men to give the Word of God. It paid for the whole governmental system. The nation of Israel was a theocracy. The tithes paid for the judges who heard criminal and civil cases. They paid for the upkeep of the government not just the ministry. The whole government actually was God's ministry.
There is not a teaching of the tithe in the NT. Tithe simply means 1/10. You will have to show me where the 1/10 is taught in the NT. Not one of the scriptures you have listed speaks of a 1/10 of one's increase.
The covenant of grace is mentioned as giving from a joyful heart not because it is demanded by any law of the 1/10.
The reason for tithing under the law was to support the ministry, (Num. 18:21-26; Neh 10:37; 12:44; Mal 3:10) and to support the poor, (Deut. 14:27-29; 26:12-14). The tithe was used to further the work of God as the Priest only received a small portion for their needs and the rest of the tithe was used within the needs of the Temple.
Jesus instructed His Disciples to take nothing with them in their travels, but to live off what was given to them by others. (Matthew 10:10; Luke 10:7, 8) The Disciples did not teach in the Temples as the Priest did and at that time went from house to house and not Church building to Church building as they established the Church wherever they traveled to.
Paul never taught tithing, but yet gave the same principles of it as in not calling it tithing as in the OT covenant, but giving from the heart in the NT covenant of grace. (Gal 6:6; 1Corintihans 9:7-14; 16:2).
I never said we are to tithe as in the OT law as now we have a High Priest (Christ Jesus) after the order of Melchizedek in whom Abraham paid tithes to the High Priest back then, but now through the covenant of grace we give our best to the High Priest (Christ Jesus) in that of taking care of the needs of His Pastors so they will not have to work outside of their calling so they can concentrate on leading the flock.
It truly doesn't matter if we decide to tithe or not as long as we are doing it the right way and taking care of the needs of the Pastor, the Church (building expenses) and those in need
