can you spot a Christian?

No, and more or less anyone who tells you they can would be chalking one up for the Baring False Witness category. :wink

That would be like someone being able to spot a person with a hole in their heart. Since a Christian is a person who is completely committed to Christ and continually striving to be more like Christ, you would think they could be, however sometimes all the right actions may not be done in faith but rather in self promotion or pride. Just like finding a whole in a person's heart, knowing whether a person is a true Christian takes very careful examination of their life.

However, the effort to make sure we know who our brothers and sisters are can make for some great fellowship as the years go by.

I usually have a pretty easy time of it on a certain day of the year. Everybody has a little charcoal cross on their foreheads.

In all seriousness, the best way to discover a true Christian is through their fruit, which includes how they interact and relate to other people.

I don't think it's possible to recognize a Christian on sight, but if you get to know someone for a while, you'll be able to tell who is a Christian, even if they don't mention it and who is a hypocrite even if they say they are Christians.

I have to observe a person for awhile.I have to listen to them talk and see their actions.God knows the heart and I do not.I do not trust any human being.They have to show me their fruit.
