Healing and visions?

I used to. Decided I didn't want it any longer. So I don't have it now. (No, it wasn't "Faith Healing", it was a very surprising answer.)

Dude, I have Chronic Fatigue Sysdrome, and can be out for days at a time, even longer.

I've had 6 major heart attacks, I have 10 stents in my heart, I'm still feeling the effects of the 2 1/2 months of daily radiation treatments that killed the cancer that tried to kill me, I have severe emphysema which has left me with a little less than 50% lung capacity, my blood pressure hovers just below 200 which puts me at a high risk for a stroke and if someone asked me to back a claim with scripture......I would.

And don't worry about offending me. I spent most of my nearly 70 years staunchly resisting and preaching against "that crazy 'healing' nonsense". I was church of Christ, and you don't get much more dogmatically stubborn than that. We were convinced that EVERYTHING died with the Apostles. I led the pack!

Until, God healed me of something pretty painful in an instant... with no preachers around, right in our upstairs bedroom.

The power comes from God. The ability comes from the heart. When we take our sight off of God, our heart follows.

Notice what happens to Peter the moment he took his eyes off of Jesus.

Matthew 14
28 And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.
29 And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.
30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.
31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?



And just so we're clear, I'm not insinuating you have no faith. I'm in the same boat as you. Nothing would give me more pleasure than to empty every cancer ward in the world. But I'm lacking something. It's probably the same thing that caused Peter to start sinking. I hate saying that about myself but it's probably true.

So then, I guess you have been saying that you think what the disciples (there were hundreds) did was because they had some kind of power that we don't?

And BTW, we definitely do NOT have any power other than that which can come upon us to pass on..
