This is a good listen from Pastor John MacArthur. He talks about threats to the faith that come NOT from the outside, but from within the faith itself. For instance, the unwillingness of many Christians to admonish supporters of abortion is a clear sign, at least to me, of apostasy from the faith.

2Thess 2:1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
2Thess 2:2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
2Thess 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
2Thess 2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

To those who hold the truths of the word of God given by the Holy Spirit are seeing a great falling away from truth, especially those who call themselves a Christian, but only have a form of Godliness as no truth is found in them, 2 Timothy 3:5-7.

Abortion is one of the greatest tools of Satan to deceive the mind in logical reasoning for this heinous act on life.

There are numerous teachings in Scripture that make it abundantly clear what God’s word says about abortion, even if the word abortion is not found in scripture. Jeremiah 1:5 tells us that God knows us before He forms us in the womb. Psalm 139:13-16 speaks of God’s active role in our creation and formation in the womb. Exodus 21:22-25 prescribes the same penalty, death, for someone who causes the death of a baby in the womb as for someone who commits murder. This clearly indicates that God considers a baby in the womb to be as human as a full-grown adult. For the Christian, abortion is not a matter of a woman’s right to choose. It is a matter of the life or death of a human being made in God’s image (Genesis 1:26-27; 9:6).

Abortion your fave topic?
That issue is often used to weaponise conservatives against Biden and the Democrats. All politics.
And you say you prefer to avoid politics?
Abortion is a topic that needs to be discussed and it has nothing to do with politics, but that of what shows us in scripture about it being murder. Politics/laws of mans making will always come against the word of God for most politicians don't even know God or His Son Christ Jesus.

BTW, let's not make this about politics and also let's keep civil and to hold what the scriptures have taught on this subject.

To me the moment a baby is conceived he or she becomes a living perrson. I cannot imagine why a mother would want to murder her own son or daughter.
Perhaps there are many reasons, such as fear, shame, rape, finances, career, illness or just plain selfishness.
Whatever the reason I think there should be a lot more counselling offered and much more information given on procedure, the pain suffered by the baby, the after effects on the mother. Will she totally regret her decision? Will she be able to conceive again if there is a time she wants to?
The biggie - does she even realise that she is committing murder? Had anyone talked to her explaining about having her baby adopted?
Some women are even threatened by boyfriends or parents or husbands to have an abortion.
They need a lot of support to give them and the baby every chance.
I have heard of women never emotionally recoveing for the rest of their lives. Some are not thinking straight.
It is heartbreaking to read of one of God's babies bring killed.

Pro lifers seem to say that the baby is more important than the mother. But as your post reveals, both are important.

Abortion is of course horrific but there are other issues important for Christians.
Some people have a passion for a certain subject they want to talk about as within the discussion it helps us all mature in the word of God when scripture is revealed before us to learn from.

i dunno....abortion is generally immoral, but I think the anti-abortion political forces (deliberately?) miss the point: our society kills people, anyway. poverty, school to prison pipe line, shredded safety net, no paid maternity leave, minimal worker protections, and...

well, think about...15-25, a young lady gets pregnant. by then, odds are pretty good she's got a good sense of how hard the world can be on people...no safety net, probably not much in the way of family to help out, how is she going to fend for herself, much less herself+baby?

that doesn't even take into account rape, incest, genetic probs, drugs, bad relationships, health and mental health probs that might make things difficult, if not impossible...

or the cases where the lady has 1-3 kids, already, and bam!! pregnant. ok. whaaa?

so...honestly the -key- to reducing abortion rates is to build a more pro-life society. :)

I've heard/read an untold number of abortions are from incest/childhood rape and that this is not revealed.

here is a chart of the usa statistics on the reasons given for abortions

7%Not mature enough to raise a child
8%Don't want to be a single mother

The first argument that always arises against the Christian stance on abortion is “What about cases of rape and/or incest?” As horrible as it would be to become pregnant as a result of rape and/or incest, is the murder of a baby the answer? Two wrongs do not make a right. The child who is a result of rape/incest could be given in adoption to a loving family unable to have children on their own, or the child could be raised by its mother. Again, the baby is completely innocent and should not be punished for the evil acts of its father.

The second argument that usually arises against the Christian stance on abortion is “What about when the life of the mother is at risk?” Honestly, this is the most difficult question to answer on the issue of abortion. First, let’s remember that this situation is the reason behind less than one-tenth of one percent of the abortions done in the world today. Far more women have an abortion for convenience than women who have an abortion to save their own lives. Second, let’s remember that God is a God of miracles. He can preserve the life of a mother and a child despite all the medical odds being against it. Ultimately, though, this question can only be decided between a husband, wife, and God. Any couple facing this extremely difficult situation should pray to the Lord for wisdom (James 1:5) as to what He would have them to do.

Over 95 percent of the abortions performed today involve women who simply do not want to have a baby. Less than 5 percent of abortions are for the reasons of rape, incest, or the mother's health at risk. Even in the more difficult 5 percent of instances, abortion should never be the first option. The life of a human being in the womb is worth every effort to allow the child to be born.

For those who have had an abortion, remember that the sin of abortion is no less forgivable than any other sin. Through faith in Christ, all sins can be forgiven (John 3:16; Romans 8:1; Colossians 1:14). A woman who has had an abortion, a man who has encouraged an abortion, or even a doctor who has performed one—can all be forgiven by faith in Jesus Christ.

Since the statistics are derived from the questions asked concerned parties, the answers given may not reflect the real reasons they seek abortion. Is a father taking his daughter in for abortion going to answer "Because I raped her?" He will answer in any way that keeps him from accountability.

Abortion is one of the greatest tools of Satan to deceive the mind in logical reasoning for this heinous act on life.

Abortion is NOT one of the greatest tools of Satan.

The LAW and the SCRIPTURES are the greatest tool of Satan to deceive the mind in logical reasoning.

He temps you like Eve with the knowledge of good and evil, a fruit that has come to be desired.

There are numerous teachings in Scripture that make it abundantly clear what God’s word says about abortion, even if the word abortion is not found in scripture. Who is it that sits in the temple of God, showing themselves that they are god, reading laws etched in stone and words printed in ink and presume to declare God's judgement on the matter?

...but I think the anti-abortion political forces (deliberately?) miss the point: our society kills people, anyway. poverty...
It's ok to be financially poor. Jesus was poor. Being poor isn't the problem; lacking a relationship and obedience to God IS the problem.

Look at all of the filthy rich, immensely popular, Hollywood stars that killed themselves. Take Robin Williams. Having money is no guarantee of success or happiness.

As well, if one was to ask poor people if they could like to be "aborted" (so to speak), my guess is that 100% of them would say "no thanks".

For reasons we do not necessarily understand, God wants us to experience life in this world. It's one thing for nature to take its course and cause a miscarriage; it's another thing for a woman to intentionally terminate the life of their offspring simply because they don't feel like enduring the remainder of the pregnancy.

Killing one's offspring might be the most selfish act one can commit. Some folks like to say that they're "inclusive", "tolerant" and "loving". I ask them, is it inclusive, tolerant, and loving to kill one's offspring? They dislike that question because they dislike the obvious answer to that question even more.

Some people have a passion for a certain subject they want to talk about as within the discussion it helps us all mature in the word of God when scripture is revealed before us to learn from.
I have him on "ignore" but you might let him know that, since my posts bother him so much, he might consider putting me on "ignore" too.

It's typical of a certain political demographic that, they not only don't want to listen to truth, they don't want YOU to be able to listen either. They don't want light to be shown on the topic.

The fact that a so-called "Christian" would want to protect the practice of abortion seems an act of apostasy to me.

Another argument of the more enlightened, inclusive, tolerant, loving-left is that the fledgling human life is simply a PARASITE. People who have that view are lost souls that need prayer that Jesus will open their eyes.

And one of the company said unto him, Master, speak to my brother, that he divide the inheritance with me. And he said unto him, Man, who made me a judge or a divider over you? And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth. And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully: And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits? And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods. And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided? So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.
And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on. The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment. Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls? And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit? If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest?
