Trivial, but are you pessimistic or optimistic and if so, why?

I can say without taking it that I'm pretty optimistic, but not by nature. I think it's because of the Holy Spirit within me, and the fact that He governs my heart and mind. I don't let myself think very negatively for long anymore.
I tend to be a pessimistic person based on what my dad said when I asked if the world is getting worse each day (And also based from this test.). Yeah, a very negative-minded person I can be.

Well, he was right that the world is getting worse.

It's just that you have to see your own world as getting better, which gets easier the more you give your life to God. At least it did for me, anyway.

No, I think he believed that the world is getting better or something, and I said the opposite, which made my father say: "Why are you pessimistic??". Can you blame him though? Not really, and even though it is true, I was more negative about it.

So basically, I have to be more dedicated in faith, so I can be better, yes?

Well, what you want to do is focus on what God is doing in the earth instead, and what He going to do. In the end we win, but even before that, if you subscribe to modern prophecy, the church isn't going to just lay down and die. The days are coming when Joel 2:28 will be fulfilled in earnest, and then the real end-time harvest will begin.

Scripture says the harvest is the end of the age, so we still have a lot to be looking forward to. We are just going to have to endure a time of things getting darker for awhile before the dawn comes.

I will say I am optimistic as I see the glass half full instead of half empty. When you seek the good out of this world over that which is evil then there you will always find your happy place as Christ is our happy place that we need to be dwelling in His presence.

Col 3:1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
Col 3:2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
Col 3:3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
Col 3:4 When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

I don't know if I make sense to others in this regard and I hope I don't sound like a looney for what I am about to say, but for me it's not about optimism or pessimism, it's about trusting in God's plan for us.
Our country's infrastructure is in disrepair, corruption is rampant, and nothing is seemingly being done about it, but I am not hoping for things to get better, nor resigning myself to a bleak future where the infrastructure has completely collapsed.
I pray that God's will be done and trust that whatever we have to face, is God's plan and wherever we have a hand and a say in the matter that God will guide us on the right path and will bless us in everything we do. If it is God's will that we suffer for our sins till we turn back to Him, then so be it.

Thy Kingdom come.
Thy will be done in earth,
As it is in heaven.

Amen

Well said :clap

At 16, I think you're off to a better start than I was. In 2004, I wasn't thinking about God at all.

Romans 7:24 kjv
24. O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
25. I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.
Well I guess I am both. The bad is really, really bad, and the good is extremely very good.

Somehow we have to come to grips with our bi-polar self. Does sin still have dominion?
No I really look forward to Romans 8.

And beyond Romans 8 is the last trump where we are changed to face eternity with God.

One or the other? No, I think we face both.

I followed _Tery_ here.

Romans 11:22 kjv
22. Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.

The hidden man of the heart works in us to accomplish his will.

🤣 well I guess I didn't need a test to know I'm a pessimist but a lot of it has to do with I don't trust others. I feel the world has gotten worse. Our technological advances have gotten better but human behavior, well we just keep repeating the same mistakes over and over again and we're making some of the biggest ones yet again.

Neither. I try to be realistic.

When someone asks, is the glass half full or half empty, my answer is that it's half full if the liquid has been poured into the glass, and half empty if liquid has already been drunk from it.
