Congrats ... you are almost (but not quite) as tricky at times to follow as Paul. Yes, MANY parts of the Scriptures are meant to be understood only through the Spirit. And NOT by just reading the words! That's why unbelievers, such as the Muslims, really have NO idea what the NT is saying... -

Post-apostolic, there has been way too much dB (so much that it hurts). Post-apostolic, there has been way too much dU (so much that it hurts). Way too much disastrous Belief in such things as OSAS. Way too much disastrous Unbelief in such things as the spiritual power gifts. -

I'll take a wild guess and say ... God wants to do what He has promised, warned, threatened, etc. in His word, which, in this case, is to exclude them from eternal life. -

I would suggest that many people have done this, all the while believing in OSAS. IMO, MILLIONS have lost the salvation they initially had because of this. -

IMO, most of you are missing the point that false doctrines can be very damaging, even very dangerous. And that was the main intent of the OP. OSAS especially comes to mind as being very dangerous. So again, the safest course to take is to go directly to the source: Scripture and the indwelling...
