    I know she was raised Christian, and was following that before. Now in interviews she says she still has faith, she just doesn't agree with all the ways she was raised. Whether she was referring to actual Christianity, or the fact that her parents were extremely strict, I don't know.

    Well, they are both similiar in the fact that you're getting Christian fellowship. However, being part of a local church and interacting with other Christians face to face is more beneficial. Plus with church, you get the worship and teachings. I believe church is very beneficial.
