After someone is saved can they sin any longer?

Will they still suffer consequences

Can one loose salvation as a result of sin?

sure that's possible, actually it's easy.
will you suffer consequence? that depends wether you care about it or not..

for as far as to being saved, i used to be tolerant and accept all these salvation issues and baptises. but i used to allways say if u think u need to be saved or think that u are saved then inmy opinion ur lost:chin.

what is sin? myself i could wish i'd die just for having a thought that isnt good. but in reality there aint no sin in that. leaves you/me with the constitution or groundlaw, simple as that. and yes one can allways sin.

Can we lose salvation as a result of sin?

What is salvation? John 17:3 ESV
And this is eternal life, that they know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.

Where is sin in this? Sin was dealt with by Jesus' death. What Jesus' death does is open the way for us to know God, to have relationship with him.

A relationship is a dynamic thing. I don't really talk to my wife about sin coming between her and me. We deal with the issues that affect the relationship. We also should try and deal with the issues that affect our relationship with God.

Yes, we can sin after salvation. I John 1:5-10 States that we do sin. However, we can go to Christ and ask him to forgive us and he will! Nice!

Now, we will suffer consequences for our sin. For example, I could cheat on my wife and commit the sin of adultery. I could go to Jesus and ask for forgiveness and he will forgive me and cleanse me from all unrighteousness. However, I may end up in a divorce because of my sin as a consequence of that sin.

As far as losing salvation, well I do not have enough time right now to talk about that. But I believe we can because of our own actions and choices in failing to repent when we sin. More later.

Elijah here:
Being Born again find them Rom. 8:1 with NO condemnation! That is only the REQUIRED FIRST starting point. Verse 14 finds us now being LED OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. IF we will be? All throught life we grow as a child (MATURE) one way or the other as we choose. James 1:15 [One way or the other]

Will they still suffer consequences

Me again:
Heb. 12:4-8 tells of the Born Again PARTAKER of Christ, READ THIS!

Can one loose salvation as a result of sin?

Heb. 6:1-6 answers this question. Yes, they can.
And all sin is DEFINED in 1 John 3:4 & still is the New Covenant CONDITION of Eternal Life. + ALL provision's are ours to use to have Eternal life + MATURE to be SAFE TO SAVE! Phil. 4:13 'IF' we will 'choose' to be! And the if is freely up to us.
All professed LOVE for Christ will be TESTED for being Mature & then the FINAL Sealing from the Earnst to the CLOSING of Mature SEALING!

I feel we must define sin to answer this question. If I call sin injustice, would anybody mind? After all, the second commandment is love others as you would love yourself. To cross this line is to be unfair, unjust. Therefore with this definition in mind, I think if someone has the love of Christ in them, I do not see how they can willingly sin. Having said that, I will confess that I have not sold all my possesions and given the money to the poor. I however on the other hand, have not condemned others who also havn't. I also have forgiven those who steal from me even to let it go as if I gave it to them. I feel clean in my conscience because of this law of Christ. In my heart I am waiting for the moment I must give up my life for someone else, and be glad to do it. I am not bragging, but as you all probably know, it is my sincere desire to be like Christ and I give God the glory for this Love. If however we define sin as breaking the law according to Old Testament rules, I think a person cannot help but sin in some capacity, saved or not.

One can sin any time they choose.

Yes, we experience the consequences of our actions.

Salvation is a day by day occurrence. As long as you live a righteous life, you are blessed. When you turn from your righteousness, you are disciplined:

[17] "Yet your people say, `The way of the Lord is not just'; when it is their own way that is not just.
[18] When the righteous turns from his righteousness, and commits iniquity, he shall die for it.
[19] And when the wicked turns from his wickedness, and does what is lawful and right, he shall live by it.
[20] Yet you say, `The way of the Lord is not just.' O house of Israel, I will judge each of you according to his ways." Ezekiel 33:17-20 RSV

Yes, we still sin after being saved. God will give us consequences for sinning. I do not believe one will lose their salvation as a result of sin if one was truly saved. If we could lose our salvation due to sin, then that would mean we are earning our way to Heaven. If we are earning our way, then Jesus wouldn't have had to die to take away our sins. Jesus covers over our sins. That doesn't mean that we should purposely sin though.
