Katy Perry's "E.T." Lyrics -- Alien/Occult Deception

I've had the unfortunate experience of having my little sister blast that song repeatedly in the house.:crazy

Regardlss of the occultic meaning that may be there, why would any Christian listen after hearing a few stanzas of the lyrics? It's very, um, disturbing and way too sexual for comfort to say in the least. :gah

perry is a bi and promote lesbian activities in the song sex on the beach. why would a christian listen to that?

While her song I Kissed A Girl may promote lesbian activies, she herself is not bi. She has never said she is. The song I Kissed A Girl is about something she tried once and decided to write about it. You know, she also in a way promotes Jesus/Christianity. She openly talks about her Jesus tattoo, her Christian music record that she released as a teen, her Christian upbringing, etc. While I don't agree with all of her songs, I do find many positive things in her music. She has a couple on her secular cds that are rooted in her faith, and she has many that are very encouraging like Firework, Pearl, Fingerprints etc.

Katy Perry - I Kissed A Girl Lyrics

i kissed a girl and i liked it. that doesnt sound like a christian to me, you tried it once and then decided no, bo ick its not me.
look i was a bi man and now these things, i kissed a man before and no what its is to love a man.it doesnt start with oh i want to try men, its ohh he looks good and you act on it or try to deny it for fear of being made fun of(these days that gone). i tried not to look at boys but i did. i am healed of this.

I understand what you're saying, but I don't think kissing someone of the same sex once makes one bi. Kissing someone and being attracted to them are two different things. You can kiss someone and not be attracted to them. Plus, I'm really just telling you what she's said about the song. There's nothing Christian about the song at all, so please don't think I was trying to say that. I'm not even saying she's still a Christian. From what I gathered in her interviews, she still has faith in God, but she's just not really living it. We cannot judge someone's heart though. All we can go by is what she says. There are many artists out there who are bi, but she's just not one of them.

In the lyrics themselves, she's saying it wasn't planned, that she was drinking, and lost her discretion. She also says it was experimental and that she was confused. She says it's not what she normally does. While she does say she liked it, she also says she's not in love. Not to mention, she wrote this song about an experience she had as a teen, and she's now an adult.

Not everyone's experiences are the same. You have a different viewpoint maybe because you were bi at one point. I noticed you said you were healed of it, which is great! I hope you understand where I'm coming from on all this.

first one doenst kiss a girl in that context and not have some type of attraction, otherwise why she state oh my boyfriend might get jealous. drunk or not one doesnt just something that you already dont have an inclination to do so. beer gave her the courage to do something that was already there.

however, that being the point or even its not the case. she still supports that idea of gay is good. think about it.if she came out and said i was wrong for that and i repented that wouldnt be well received. the music industry is hedonism as a whole. she also sings way to desriptive one what women wear on the beach in one song. i dont think a straight male would sing about what men whore a beach if he was talking about fornication like pery did. makes you wonder doesnt it.

either way, she isnt what one ought to listen too. just so you know, once a person is in the lbgt that joke about the gaydar is all that off. gaydar does work.

Well she is kissing someone else, so that would be reason enough to wonder if her boyfriend might mind it, regardless of who she's kissing. I'm still holding to that just because you are curious about kissing someone of the same sex and try it, doesn't make you gay/bi. I have kissed another girl when I was younger. I can honestly say it was just to see what it was like. I have never, ever, actually been attracted to a woman.

I don't see how she's supporting necessairly that being gay is good. I'm not sure she'd care what the industry says if she did repent. She is very open in the industry about faith. As far as her being way too descriptive as to what women wear on the beach, I really think you may be taking the song wrong. She's not using those descriptions to say she's checking out women. She's using them to tell the guys that California girls are the best. Hence why she uses the line "We'll melt your popsicle." I'm sure you can guess what she's referring to there.

I don't feel it is really your place to judge what someone should listen to. If you don't want to listen to it, that's fine. However, you shouldn't pass judgement on those who do.

so telling someone not to listen too or look at things that promote sin? think about it. so i shouldnt stay a christian ought not to look at porn?things that promote sin so openly should be avoided.dude, i used to be a porn addict, i know what she meant. let me ask you this.

didnt god say this? be ye holy as i am holy. are we not called to be holy?.and you oddly didnt say YOU liked it. that is how this so called non-chosen lifestyle starts. i had urges for yrs but only acted on it once.

why do you listen to her. does it make you think of what? sex, sin? what goes in does affect you otherwise why then does the bible say guard your heart? each person must come to see that certian things arent edifying to them or their walk.

Is she even a Christian? I heard from my brother that she was, but she turned away from God.

Her parents are Christians, apparently, and I think her dad is a pastor. I am sure she has brought some real trial to that family. I pray she and her husband will be saved.

I know she was raised Christian, and was following that before. Now in interviews she says she still has faith, she just doesn't agree with all the ways she was raised. Whether she was referring to actual Christianity, or the fact that her parents were extremely strict, I don't know.

I said you shouldn't pass judgement. If someone was doing something harmful like watching porn, I do think you should help them to stop. While some of Katy's lyrics may not be appropiate, I wouldn't say they call for an intervention if someone you know is listening to her.

I listen to her because I've been a fan of hers since she was a Christian artist. I just like her stuff. While there are some things I don't agree with, it's not causing me to sin and it doesn't affect my walk with God. There are certain things that do, and others that I don't. Like I don't listen to Christina Aguilera anymore because she's way over the top with the sexual stuff. It was affecting me and causing me to think about things I shouldn't. Katy's song I Kissed A Girl doesn't make me want to kiss one. I think that song is actually quite juevnile. I don't like the other one you mentioned either, California Girls. She does have some very positive and inspiring songs as well. I do listen to secular music, but I pray everyday that God would give me discernment in my entertainment choices. I do often stop listening or watching things that are affecting me in negative ways.

Different things bother people differently. Using I Kissed A Girl as an example, that doesn't affect me for the reason I already mentioned. However, it probably wouldn't be wise for you to listen to it because you used to be bi and it might cause you to dwell on your past. I know some Christians who watch horror and vampire stuff and they have no issue with it. I, however, cannot watch that type of stuff because it affects me badly due to previous occult involvement.

When it all comes down to it, I just feel we shouldn't judge someone and assume something about someone. She has never, ever said she was bi. She has talked about the song, and said she was just curious. So until she says otherwise, we shouldn't assume. That's really been my main issue here is the judgement and assumptions. We can't just go around stating things like they are facts when we don't know for sure they are. That to me is not only gossip, but slander.

so songs about sex dont cause one to stumble? doubtful. think about it. i know sinners who think she is bi, they love that song. agian calling one to holiness isnt judging. did i condemn thee, i merely stated a christian ought not to listen to her.

there has to be a line somewhere between a christian and the sinner if not how is the world to know? i dont watch tv (havent in two yrs) and secular music in 14. i dont miss neither. few very few movies do i watch.

also can you tell me why sesame street canned her appeareance?
sex sells, you are right this isnt savinic but neither does she or such like edify.YOU ASSUMED THAT I SAID ONE CANT BE A CHRISTIAN AND LISTEN TO HER AND I NEVER DID.

This is a misconception. According to Paul, anyone in the Body of Christ is subject to judgment by their Christian peers.

It's those outside of the Body that we are not to judge. That, is God's job.

also can you tell me why sesame street canned her appeareance?
I can. The parents spoke up! :clap

vic i know why that happened but i wanted to see if she did know. i feel that HOT N Cold is most innapropriate for a kids show. If pery sung a kids lullaby or other thing, who cares.

that said, i am not interested in making her angry and will no more post on this matter.the seed , in love, has been planted. i dont hate katy perry. i am just as guilty of the sin of male lusts therefore who should judge?

It doesn't matter if she was raised a Christian or even still claims to believe in Christianity. Her actions do not say she is a Christian.......faith without works is dead......her works are not glorifying God, so therefore they can only glorify the world and things of the world.

She sings about being sexually immoral and is naked in her music videos......you tell me what Jesus thinks of that?

That is not glorifying Jesus....that is glorifying yourself and at the same time causing other to stumble because of it.

Do not listen to her music or any other secular artist.....don't allow yourself to be lulled into a false Christianity that exalts the world and not Jesus.

If you have to make an excuse why you are doing something, that is a pretty good sign that it probably isn't something you should be doing.

God Bless

They canned her appearance because of her outfit. After showing previews of her appearance, they got complaints from parents about how low-cut her dress was. I do agree is was inappropiate for Seasame Street, and can't believe they even filmed with that outfit on.
