    military?

I served in the USMC back in the 80/s before I was saved~~I couldn't do it now nor recommend it to the younger folks in our congregation. The teaching "you cannot serve two masters" goes beyond God and mammon, it also deals with nationalism...I wouldn't recommend it to brothers and sisters in...

Have you ever lost sleep due to a bad nightmare?

I am a very prolific dreamer but rarely have nightmares~~I wouldn't mind having a few. Mine are very boring and are usually work related; what kind of knucklehead has dreams about working, then gets up and goes to work...yeah, I'm that guy. :shame

    America's Founding

You don't need some gov't provided "freedom" to have liberty in Christ~we're citizens of the Kingdom of God serving as His ambassadors to whatever nation we reside. Regardless of whatever that nation's laws may be our freedom is not bound by their rules. And in living by that we may well...

    America's Founding

:clap See, you did provide some Scripture: Rom 8:35 –Rom 8:39 NKJV Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written:       “For Your sake we are killed all...

    America's Founding

"Inalienable rights"? Got Scripture for that? When I read what Jesus said it seems like we were promised hardship and persecution and even death when we pick up our cross and follow Him~~not "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness"...

    America's Founding

Agreed~~it's become a civil religion to perpetuate the status quo instead of the redemption and tranformation of sinners through the blood of the Lamb to work in the Kingdom of God.

    America's Founding

You follow God, not men. BUT you still must submit to the authority for whatever punishment they will give out. Rebellion is not a NT teaching regardless of how romantic it may be.

    America's Founding

:confused The first amendment trumps scripture...? Submission to authority is not an option. Understand submission does not equal obedience (under which one has to suffer the consequences of disobedience in submission to authority), but to look at the Constitution as higher than Scripture...

    America's Founding

Wonder why the "founding fathers" didn't obey 2 Peter & Rom 13 regarding submission to authorities...even Paul submitted to Nero and he was way worse than King George :yes

I am buying a gun today!

There's an old saying: Anything worth shooting once is worth shooting twice. Regardless of the caliber you shoot until the perp is down. When I was in the USMC (and that's been a while) I shot expert with a .45, and that was inspite of the poor condition of the weapon. I was a gun guy though...

I am buying a gun today!

I was in a local gunshop that had an old retired spec ops guy working the counter. I'm former jarhead so we would chat when I came in on occasion. One day at the other end of the counter some guys were arguing 9mm vs. .45 and the old timer said under his breath to me "I've shot men with 9mm's...

:yes Partial to Berettas myself~~it is all about the safety, it can't be said enough. From basic handling to shooting to cleaning; find someone to show you. Gun people tend to be very helpful folks

    The Shack

I bought it and read it over the holidays~well ok it was in two evenings. I don't see it as an evangelism "tool", I found it to be an insightful story exposing deficiencies in my relationship with God and others.
