1000 year reign

Actually the book of revelation reveals not one but two resurections. The first at the beginning of the 1000 year reign and the second at the end .
The first resurrection contains those who died for thier testimony of Jesus and did not worship the beast or his image.

Now that was the first resurrection. The rest of the dead dont live again till the 1000 years are expired.
Now the second and final resurection takes place after the 1000 years had expired.

Im thankful God has revealed these things to us .Im sure Paul and Peter as well as the other apostles would have loved to had known these things as well but it was not given to them to know.
Im sure God has his reasons for waiting till after they had died before revealing these things through John .

It is my belief that those in the first resurection are al Israelis and they keep the Sabbath.

Where we differ is that I do not believe in a literal 1000 years where the saints will reign with Christ here on earth. A 1000 years in Rev 20 is not literal years, but only symbolic of a certain period of time as nowhere else in scripture does it mention a literal 1000 year reign of Christ here on earth, but symbolic as in Deuteronomy 7:9; 1Chronicles 16:15; Psalms 50:10; 90:4; 105:8 Ecc 6:6; 7:28; Daniel 5:1; 2Peter 3:8.

Rev 20:4-15 during this time of Satan being bound comes the resurrection of all, (as all means saints and those who are not of faith in God), who are asleep in the ground will hear the voice of Christ calling them to come forth as some will be resurrected to eternal life with the Father and others to damnation, John 5:28,29, 1Corinthians 15:51-58; 1Thessalonians 1:1-10; 4:13-18. When we are given our new glorified bodies Jesus will gather us to Him like a mother hen gathers her chicks under her wings for protection, Matthew 23:34-39. Satan will be loosed for a short time to go out and deceive the nations by gathering all those who are his own and then sends them to attack the camp of the saints, but God sends fire down from heaven and to devour them. Satan is then cast into the lake of fire followed by those who stand in Gods Great White Throne judgment and as their names are not written in the book of life will then be cast into the lake of fire and remembered no more.

Many teach that there are two resurrections, but that is not what scriptures says. There is only one resurrection, but two judgments of those who sleep in the grave, John 5:28,29. Everyone was created by God, but not all are found faithful to Him as many refused to Hear the word of God and turned away from Him and will continue to do so until the coming of the Lord. Then there are those like that of the parable Jesus gave in Matthew 25:14-30 and the judgment of the Gentiles in Matthew 25:31-46. We know Jesus comes with rewards as the rewards are different for each one.

I quoted the bible talking about two resurections.
I wonder why you cant hear it?
Just curious. Can you see and understand the word FIRST in the following verse?

And I also gave the scriptures that show there is only one resurrection, but two different judgements. Why can't you see that?

John 5: 28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, 29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

The hour not two different hours. All that are in the graves both saint and sinners will rise, but those who are Christ own will be raised to life, while the sinners being those who have rejected Christ will be raised to damnation. White Throne judgement that only comes once two books will be opened as one is the Lambs book of life and the other the book of damnation as all are judged from these two books.

The first resurrection are the first fruits of Christ who even though their physical bodies die, they will still have eternal life in Christ in the New Jerusalem. The second death is those who have physically died rejecting Christ have no life in Christ as they are dead to Him. This is the sting of death written of in 1 Corinthians 15:55, 56

Only one resurrection two different judgements, John 5:28, 29, happening on the last day when Christ returns, John 6:40. The second death that has no power over the saints is that of death and hell being cast into the lake of fire, Rev 20:14, 15.

This does not say this is the first judgement. It says it is the first resurection.
Why are you trying to change Gods word from resurection to judgement?

I never said it was the first judgment.

John was shown in a vision those souls that already had the victory over death as being in Christ. When we who are of Christ die before His return God has already passed judgement on us and we have the victory in Christ over that of the second death, 1 Corinthians 15:51-57. Those who are not of Christ will be judged and cast into the lake of fire. There is only one resurrection, but two judgements, John 5:28, 29.

Those in Christ are raised first as those still alive at His coming will be gathered and caught up together to meet Christ in the air to be with Christ for eternity, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18. The rest are then raised for their judgement as rejecting Christ and there forever have their place in the lake of fire. This all happens on the last day when Christ returns. Rev 20:4 says nothing about Jesus coming to this earth and establishing a worldly kingdom at Jerusalem for a 1000 years.

Revelation 20:1-8 is the only passage in the entire scriptures that the premillinialists have as the basis for the "1000 year reign." Rev 20:4 doesn't speak about a 1000 year reign of Christ it says by the vision John received "and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years."

It's not Christ that reigns 1000 years, but those who were killed for God's sake that reign with Christ 1000 years as 1000 being a figurative number, not a literal number as in Deuteronomy 7:9; 1Chronicles 16:15; Psalms 50:10; 90:4; 105:8 Ecc 6:6; 7:28; Daniel 5:1; 2Peter 3:8.

This is not talking about te many judgements of God.
We are not discusing judgements.
This verse is speaking of the first resurection. Not one of many judgements of God.

Please try to understand the word resurection in this verse.
The word judgement is no whete to be found. Why do you keep changing the word of Gods first resurection in this versr?

I guess your just not able to see the words "first resurection" in this verse.Really nothing left to discuss since you cant see those two words.
I still cant see the word judgement in the verse.Maybe im,blind and just cant see it..

Sorry, but judgment comes with the resurrection as those who are Christ own have been judged already and go to receive eternal life, while those who are not of Christ have already been judged to damnation.

John 5:28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, 29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. 30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

Rev 20:6 says the same thing as well as Rev 2:11that all ties into the two resurrections and two judgements in John 5:28-30, so no I am not changing what has already been written, but giving that which has already been written with full context.

The first resurrection is divided in two parts as the first resurrection is to life to those who have overcome that of the second death that leads to damnation. Please show me scripture that says two resurrections at different times.

I am not sure about the millennial reign for sure, but have always figured that He comes back and puts His feet on the mount of Olives and binds the enemy, then sets up a 1000 year reign where He reigns from Jerusalem. I presume that He will heal the land and show us how we should have been living.

I also presume that this would be when the meek inherit the earth? It has to happen sometime. Commerce would have to continue in some form, right? And so the Christians would be running the Government...under Christ...

And as for the Sabbath...Hey we are on the Sabbath day right now. This is early in the morning on the 7th day since creation. 6 thousand years have elapsed and here we are, into the 7th day/century.

Edward if you read Matthew 24:29-31 with Rev 19:11-21 no where does it say Jesus steps foot on the Mt of Olives as everything is done while He is in the air as He speaks it to be done. Zechariah Chapter 14 does parallel Rev 19:11-21, but I have yet to understand the part about His feet being planted on the mount of Olives unless it's an analogy as all the things that pertain to Jesus and the mount of Olives in the NT.

Keep in mind that the Olivet Discourse is Jesus teaching His disciples from Zechariah 14, and 12.

Zechariah really shows us Jesus as YHWH, the Lord God.

“And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn. Zechariah 12:10

  • they will look on Me whom they pierced.

Behold, the day of the Lord is coming,
And your spoil will be divided in your midst.
For I will gather all the nations to battle against Jerusalem;
The city shall be taken,
The houses rifled,
And the women ravished.
Half of the city shall go into captivity,
But the remnant of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
Then the Lord will go forth
And fight against those nations,
As He fights in the day of battle.
And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives,
Which faces Jerusalem on the east.
And the Mount of Olives shall be split in two,
From east to west,
Making a very large valley;
Half of the mountain shall move toward the north
And half of it toward the south.
Then you shall flee through My mountain valley,
For the mountain valley shall reach to Azal.
Yes, you shall flee
As you fled from the earthquake
In the days of Uzziah king of Judah.
Thus the Lord my God will come,
And all the saints with You.
It shall come to pass in that day
That there will be no light;
The lights will diminish.
It shall be one day
Which is known to the Lord—
Neither day nor night.
But at evening time it shall happen
That it will be light
Zechariah 14:1-7

I understand all of that and the prophetic of it, but the only part I have yet to figure out is where in the revelations of John does Jesus literally plant His feet on the mount of Olives in Rev 19 when everything He does is done while He is in the air.

I could understand it if you were to give the scriptures I have asked you to give that say there are two resurrection at two different times, but you have yet to show me them.

You couldnt even understand the first resurection.

You obviously would not understand the last.

You are to rapped up in judgements to hear anything God had to say about the first resurection let alone the last.

No need to go any further.

Jesus gathers His people from the four corners of heaven and the four corners of earth as He returns for the resurrection and rapture, in which He will remove the wicked and return to Jerusalem to take His place upon His throne as King over the whole earth.

He leaves heaven to return to Jerusalem, to reign as King over the earth.

This is the Day of the Lord; The Day of Christ.

I know all of this, but where in scripture does it say Jesus will literally step foot on the mount of Olives when He returns. The scenario of Rev 19:11-21 is that Jesus comes down to the air from heaven and destroys the beast and false prophet by the brightness of His coming as He only needs to speak their destruction. Then He destroys the remnant that followed after the beast and false prophet.

During this time of His second coming the saints are caught up to Him and Satan is bound for awhile as not to interfere with those saints who are still alive at His coming that are will meet those in the graves they will be joined with in the clouds to meet Jesus in the air. Satan is loosed for a time to try and destroy the encamped saints that are no longer on the earth. The Great White Throne judgment comes then this present heaven and earth is made new again and the New Jerusalem is ushered down.

Where in all of this does Jesus actually step foot on the mount of Olives as I do not believe in a literal 1000 year reign on earth before it is renewed. If judgments are finished and those not written in the Lamb's book of life have been cast into the lake of fire, what would be the purpose of a literal 1000 year reign on this present earth?

I know all of this, but where in scripture does it say Jesus will literally step foot on the mount of Olives when He returns.

I am talking about two separate resurrections done at the same time per John 5:28, 29 being done on the last day when Christ returns. The two different judgments are they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation as all, which means saint and sinner laying in their graves, will hear the voice of Christ calling them to raise up from their graves.

I just can't understand why you can not simply give me those scriptures that state two different resurrections at two different times. How can we teach if we do not give others the scriptures so they can go and read them.
