We just checked out Elio's tiny car that gets 84 MPG and only costs $7,300 — here’s what it was like

Stability is going to be an issue.imagine hitting a slippery spot or loosing traction with that rear one wheel pushing wheel.

LOL! Before I read your post I looked at the engine and I was thinking of a custom Wish-Bone Hartley Frame so a small radiator can be mounted between the wish-bone fork limbs. With it extended about twelve inches and a small amount of Drive Shaft engineering and a Suicide Shifter mounted on the right side of the tank it would be a young girl magnet.
 
Been following the news on this company for 3 plus years now. Potentially disruptive, especially if they come out with a 4 seater. I was tempted to put in an order when it was $6800. and way less than 10,000 orders. Front wheel drive should dispel traction issues, but 3 wheels will make it a little bumpier ride. Nevertheless the price and the mileage is awesomely eco-economically friendly.
 
Not sure if any of you watch Counting Cars on the History channel, but there was an episode recently where a friend of theirs was building a motorcycle with four motors in it. The thing was huge.
 
A 10-year-old girl was walking down the street when a big man on a big-old
motorcycle pulls up beside her and says, "Hey little girl, do you want to go
for a ride?"
"NO!" says the little girl as she keeps on walking.
The motorcyclist pulls up beside her again and says, "Hey kid, I will give
you $10 if you hop on the back."
"NO!" said the little girl and proceeded down the street a little quicker.
The motorcyclist pulls up to the little girl again and says, "Okay kid, I
will give you $20 and a BIG bag of candy if you hop on the back of my bike
for a ride.
At this point the little girl turns to him and screams angrily, "Look Dad,
YOU bought a Honda instead of a Harley, so, YOU ride it!"

No doubt. Kind of like a mini Boss Hog. The 3 banger in the Elio will run it about 100mph. Don't know how much more a stripped frame hard tail could climb but it would have to be somewhat higher I'd expect with substantially less weight.

That will depend on the final Gear Ratio. Using a Shaft Drive with a 90 degree wheel drive there will be a variety of Gear Ratios and if you go for off the line, using the much larger wheels but lighter it should top anywhere between a Hundred and Two. Any good highway ratio, shaft, chain, or belt drive will result either in one monster front wheel kisser to it just gliding off the line, it all depends on the set up. If I wanted it multipurpose I would go with a Chain drive, it is simpler and much faster to change the rear tire already mounted on another rim with the proper rear sprocket and if you do that, the longer or shorter chain is in your tool box, ready to go get in the wind.
