yes, but those I thought mention aren't native to florida and well that is off topic, we have myriads of palm trees. I have three different species of palm trees in my yard. and those in that pic aren't called palm trees but palm frond trees. they are native to florida, the palm tree is a bit different and those in that pic are edible. the heart of them is what is eaten and some do use the seeds for medicine.

When I graduated from UH I moved to third ward to be close to my job downtown. When I want to Christmas out of town I came back to a totally empty apt. They even stole my silverware and all the food. Not one single item left. The police told me I didn't belong there cause I am white. I moved pretty quick. I lived on Palm and Almeda. Down the street from the the mortuary with all the colors on it.
LOL! It was like that in the fifties also, we just had nothing for anyone to take. My birth-father was a Yellow Cab driver that rented his cab and that was the family car. When my mom remarried we moved into fifth Ward where the theft was a little better because the Laura Koppe Gang demanded their cut from all thefts. Then as I was growing up to follow the life examples of my mom and my older brother, Tiny Roman took an interest in seeing me not go to prison, hand cuffed me to the bed a time or two, took the stolen Caddy tai l lights back once and talked to me about going into the Army for thirty years.

Thanks to my stepfather, dad, and, perhaps, the biggest cop in the world, I took the better path. And I have wandered into Third and Fifth Wards when I go looking for a new Fedora. But the last time I ended up by paying fifty dollars on line line from the creator of the Harrison (Indiana Jones) Blocked hat when they wanted $175 in Third Ward for a copy made from the same Triple Beaver material.

archaic French, they cant talk to the French, but the French Canadians yes. but not all Cajuns speak French. many these days don't. I used to live in that part of louisana.

The French spoke in Quebec has its own accent as well. When we're in France, my wife's French is easily understood. In Quebec the Canadians have to struggle understanding her.

Actually not all Fench Canadians. The Quebecoises have a different dialect than the Acadiens (Canadian cajun). So I guess Acadians and Cajun can understand each other better than Quebecoises or European French.

Also in the Acadians of New Brunswick in Canada have developed a funny mix of English and French that is called "Chiac". I laugh my ass off every time I hear or read it.
Those are the example sentences on wikipedia:
  • "Ej vas tanker mon truck de soir pis ej va le driver. Ça va être right dla fun." (I'm going to fill up my truck tonight and take it for a drive. That will be lots of fun.)
  • "Espère-moi su'l'corner, j'traverse le chmin pi j'viens right back." (Wait for me on the corner, I'm crossing the road and I'll be right back.)
  • "Zeux ils pensont qu'y ownont le car." (Them, they think they own the car.)
  • "On va amarrer ça d'même pour faire sûr que ça tchenne." (We will tie it like this to make sure it stays.)
  • "Ca t'tente tu d'aller watcher un movie?" (Do you want to go see a movie?)
  • "Ej ché pas...so quosse vous faites dessoir?" (I don't know. What are you doing tonight?)
  • "J'aime ta skirt, j'aime la way qu'à hang" (I like your dress, it fits you well!)
  • "Ton car et-ti en pretty good shape?" (Does your car look good?)

You got an Italian connection too, right?
Not as far as I know. I lived in Italy for two or three years when I was a toddler since my mom was in the navy, but related to them I'm not--not as far as I know. My ancestry is very mixed, though.

Oh you lived in Italy, that's right.

Was she on a ship, your mom?

Blessings.
