A matter of YES or NO

Does this scare you at times that making heaven is a matter of YES or NO? At times I get so worried!!!

it reminds me of this verse Matthew 7:21 “"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.”

<O:pas of now , we just need an assurance of salvation to battle that feeling....:thumbsup</O:p

That's great. Eternity is such a horrible word. If you are in, you are in with the Lord forever. However, if someone is out (a NO or misses it), he/she is out forever. The strange thing is: condemned forever, or in everlasting peace.

That could also pertain to those people who cry out in God's name AFTER they die. I mean, who wouldn't? If someone died, and was sent to hell, the first thing they would say would be "God help me!" Would God help? Clearly no according to this scripture that you have handed out.

In addition to that, as long as you have faith you don't need to be fearful. If you trust in him, he won't let you down. He won't forsake you.

I cant see how it applies to those who havent heard the gospel. As God wishes that non-should perish but all come to faith I assume those who havent heard will get the chance.
In the context of the whole Matthew 25 chapter (and indeed in line with the whole NT) this must surely be about those who think they know God but simply havent believed. The people who call themselves Christians but dont believe or seek to live out what Christ taught. Liberal Christianity? After all the NT is specific that Christ taught to seek to do all He taught.
Of course it could also mean something to do with how people, or nations treat the Jews and Israel.

You are wrong, I believe. When we disobey a commandment, we are disciplined. When we repent of our sin, there is nothing left to discipline us for. It will be like that forever.

It's very simple as yes you will be with the Father for eternity if you have been Spiritually renewed by His Spirit through confessing our faith which is Christ Jesus we are saved by grace unto the inherited promise of eternity with Christ.

Entering heaven is not a matter of "yes" or "no" if, by that, you mean whether you "did good enough" or not. It is simply a matter of faith. Do you trust Jesus Christ as your Savior, who died to pay the penalty for your sins, a penalty you could not pay because, if you do, you are sentenced to hell? If that answer is "yes" then it's a done deal. There are no worries.

Some have expressed the same thing, but this is well worded.
:thumbsup

Yes, I get scared when I think it would be like to not get into heaven and be separated from God. There have been many times in my life when I sinned and separated myself from God and it was horrible. I would not want that for eternity...

It really helps me to stay in the straight and narrow gate, concience of myself and sin...t is so easy to sin but when you walk with God you are reminded every day and have the gift of repentance and forgiveness. I friend told me that every night his last conversation is with God in case he does not wake. He said to me, wouldn't that be great to have your last conversation with God? I now do that, too.

Don't worry...:)

A big thanks to you all. I'm delighted.

I'm not trying to be overly worried but I have this anxiety whenever I remeber people like Moses and Paul etc. Moses was a perfect man, I would say. He was so meek and friendly, eager to help. A single disobedience...and it was all over. All he fought for, all his effort, his great labor, his indebt desire - everything he hoped for - was messed up by his disobedience (hitting the rock and not speaking to it).

I'm glad the Promised Land isn't heaven. :) Moses is in heaven tho he missed the Promised Land.

Assuming the Promised Land was the real heaven.... (we can now understand why I'm worried :shocked)

Saul (Paul) was like a terrorist. He dealt treacherously with the people of God. But at the end what happened?

The world is already a mess! Not God's fault. Human beings have done abominable things. We all know of evil people in this world who at their dying minute made peace with God. What is their fate? Their sins are washed away.

How about these other people who were persecuted and murderd. How about the numerous ones that were made to lose faith and were also murdered? All they have worked for, every dream and hope and desire was messed up the time they forsook God. I know such people, I honestly do.

Sorry if I'm sounding so strange. At the end God would say: Welcome home (YES) or depart from me (NO). This is the scary part.

Someone gave me this chapter, Psalm 51. I used to recite it everyday. I like the way David prayed. It was an honest prayer...it can guide one the rest of the day:lol

I almost memorised the whole chapter...and it was like a comforter. Tis Like I will go back to it ;)

As thisnumbersdisconnected has noted....

The only question that really needs a "yes" or "no" answer is whether or not you BELIEVE with all your heart, soul, and mind that Jesus is your King and Savior and died for your sins. If you answer "yes" to that question, then the one proposed by you, Classik, becomes obsolete.
