Yeah, I agree ... I apologize to Armor of God.

But I'm doing it because Dave Slayer asked me to. Contrary to what some people think of him, Dave's one of the most humble guys I know, and that's why he's one of my best friends now ...

Armor is only saying what needs to be remembered. The staff offer Dave numerous chances to calm down just a bit. We too all tried to keep Dave around and in the end he decided to leave.

Did Dave add some thought provoking threads, sure.

Did Dave add hundreds of topics with no real point at all, yes he did.

This is not to say all topics need to be serious, but it is to say that it does open questions of character and motive. We cannot ignore the borderline spamming regardless of his no doubt decent character.

I got to know Dave a little. I think he's misunderstood quite often. From what I could see, his motives are pure and he has a heart for God. So maybe he didn't follow forum etiquette quite like some would have liked, but I think we should look at the man behind the posts and see that he really is a good person.

I'm new here, but I can say I'm glad I got to see Dave's videos.
We all have our faults, but his heart comes through loud and clear.

We do take ourselves way too seriously at times and people like Dave can remind us of that.

Dave sure wasn't perfect, yes he got more than a little annoying, but he does have a pure and humble heart even though he can be a little silly sometimes.

Didn't follow etiquette is an understatement, Jojo. We all know Dave is a good guy at the end of the day, but he admits that he cannot control himself. I can't personally think of one staff member who did not reach out to Dave with advice and encouragement on how he would be understood better or how he can continue to be who he is with a less offensive nature.

In the end, when the staff had decided he needed some boundaries, he decided to leave. If Dave came back we would not mind at all, but if it's business as usual than I can only imagine it being a shorter return.
 
I didn't have a problem with Dave personally. Seemed like a nice guy. But I did have a problem with 19 threads asking stupid questions on the first page and another 20 on page 2. Dave's a good guy, no one is really arguing that. But this is supposed to be a community and all those threads piped over pages of the forums just started to seem like someone yelling look at me, it drove others threads into oblivion. That was annoying. I came here to get to know people and have good discussions, and let's face it sometimes things are serious, and there is nothing wrong with that. I stopped reading the forums for sometime till recently I stopped by to check things out and saw it was a bit more calm.

That being said I'd have no problem with Dave coming back if the useless stupid threads stopped appearing. But the moment I saw a thread labeled is it ok for Christians to eat rocky road Ice cream or something equally as useless I would leave and not look back. I had my limit with those threads.
 
I got pretty fed up with the silly threads from time to time if they were too numerous, but now there's just no silliness whatsoever......that ain't good either. :gah
