I just got a brand new Dell, dual core 2.60 GHz, 2 GB memory, Windows 7, Home, Vostro 220's series computer. Would have rather had the Windows 7 Pro, and a 64 bit instead of the 32 bit, but I can upgrade that. But anyway I am playing around with it now, to see what's up with this thing, and I like it so far, got it for 391 bucks brand new, including the taxes.

Nice work! Sounds good. Have fun with windows 7, apparantly its absolutely awesome. Just like XP in terms of its expected acceptance, popularity etc.

I reckon you should upgrade your memory, though to about 3G, but I"d do 4G. But it depends on what you're using your computer for.

How much hard drive capacity have you got?

It's a 120 GB Nick and I am going to take the memory up to 4. And also a terarbyte external drive.

Nice one! :thumbsup

What do you use the computer for, btw? What are your graphics specs?

Video Card

Integrated Video, Intel® GMA X4500HD, and FSB is 800

How big (mb) is the video card? I'd go for at least 512mb. The GeForce and Radeon ones are pretty good, too.You may find that later down the track you'll want to upgrade from an Intel graphics card. But that's probably only if you're into gaming and video production.

It is 256 MB's Nick, and I also went out got a Memorex DVD recorder today.

You buy it from a store or privately?

A store, the tower only.

Sounds good. Unless you're gonna be playing games etc, I think you'll be fine for a while.

Good luck with it all, mate. :)

I've got a desktop and a notebook. The notebook has better specs:

17" widescreen, 500G hard drive, 4G ram, 2.6GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 512M Radeon video card. Off the top of my head. It's a Toshiba Satelite P300.

Here is what mine looks like.

lenovo. Pentium Dual cpu at 2.16 ghz and 984 mb of ram. A laptop is what i have. Though i have a gateway desktop.

Might want to upgrade soon. Are you running XP?
