A new vision for a better community of believers.......

I would think that would be right. I know I sought a Christian community that would leave me feeling elated and buoyed by the spirit that was nourished in time spent here. I attended a forum once that imparted that very thing. It is something that I have always wanted to feel and share in ever since.
God's protection, mercies, and peace surround this forum , the owner , and all who serve to keep us in community. Amen.

That's very troubling indeed.
So that those who may not know the import of that observation, I offer this scriptural background link.

They sold to an atheist because the owner was diagnosed terminal. Yes, an atheist. They postured as a Christian to get the site and then they opened various dual-accounts on the site that caused conflict on purpose.
It ended up losing members and eventually closed from last I heard. It was on the old site carried by EZBoard. It's since changed too to some other company I don't know.

The lack of discussing politics in churches has been a huge part of the decline of the USA
I prefer church be church.should I be allowed to openly criticize my pastor if he held office in church and I work for the city he is mayor off.I live in a small town where I can through your paper ,talk to you minutes later while reading your meter.I have fought and won paper missed complaints when I tell my boss that I started at 2106 abd tossed their paper closer as a favor .they have told me ,dint you throw my paper?

I have a route of that type tommorow. I would be jobless if I openly stated my opinions on things here.plenty go to church that claim christ and do crappy things.
I usually pick wisely my positions to debate.

We've allowed this thread to continue to ask questions and for clarification about the recent announcements. We'll be cleaning up this thread, but please stay on this topic. Do not openly talk about other members.

I have to say that I sometimes have not understood why some threads close down. It's almost as if the mods are closing them down BEFORE they really need to; as if they're just afraid it'll get bad even though it isn't at the moment of the closing.

I sometimes don't see the discord that they do. It's almost a preventive measure, IOW. Seems totally unecessary to me -- but, of course, I don't know what the mods know.

As you suggest, there is often more to the story than it appears from the member's perspective. You can always PM a mod who's assigned to the forum or anyone on staff if you're not sure who it is and more information can be given.

As part of our commitment to transparency, we're trying to communicate better in the thread when we close it to explain why it is being closed. I know how frustrating it can be as a member when you're engaged in a discussion and it's closed with no real explanation.

There used to be a television show and song about the unknown stuntman/hero that makes others look good....
That's us.
We try to stay out of sight...and details of people's behavior isn't something we broadcast like the National Inquirer does.

I like this new rule. I had a small problem some time ago but handled it with the mod. I do agree that a reason should be given when a thread is closed or when a post is deleted because, frankly, I didn't understand what I had done wrong. Turns out it was deleted due to another post. That's really all the information that one should need... The rules are plain enough.
