A Wake-Up Call for the Lukewarm (new rapture theory)

A WAKE-UP CALL FOR THE LUKEWARM:
My New Rapture Theory in a Nutshell
.
I wasn’t a writer when I finally answered the Lord’s call, but nevertheless, after I got saved in the summer of 1989, the Lord told me I was going to write. He didn’t say what, how or why, just simply that I was going to write. I couldn’t type then and I didn’t even know what Bible prophecy was, but you just never know where your journey might lead. Some might get sent on a mission to Africa or some other country, but there I was, a new Christian silently praying, offering to sing for Him, if He would take my shyness away. Then, immediately, out of the blue, and totally unexpected, I heard a still small voice inside say, “No, you’re going to write.” Naturally, I was stunned, but very excited as well. Even though it would be quite a while before I finally understood those few words. But sure enough, He slowly began taking me down this path. At first, I was thinking that instead of singing, maybe I would write songs? Little did I know.
.
About a year later, a friend shared his exciting book about the rapture. Wanting to know more, I became keenly interested in the rapture, which led me to reading more books about it. Then later, I found myself searching His Word diligently, looking for more hidden clues. I must admit, though, that I never intended to create my own rapture theory. That thought had never even crossed my mind. With all of the different theories, I was merely searching for the truth. In fact, I didn’t even realize I discovered a new theory until after my book was finished. I was proof-reading the proof copy my publisher sent me for my final approval, searching for typos and errors that might need to be corrected. And that’s when it hit me! All of a sudden, I realized there is no other theory like it. Wow! Not only did God keep His promise from over 20 years earlier, but He actually led me to create another rapture theory, and without me even knowing it. I was so shocked! What a surprise! I couldn’t have ever done this on my own. He’s so much more than faithful! Praises and glory to His mighty name!
.
No doubt, it was a long and very slow road, well over two decades. And there were plenty of times that I didn’t think I would ever reach my destination, but I just had to keep pressing on and trusting God. I can’t begin to tell you how relieved I was when I finally reached the finish-line. It felt like a great weight was lifted off of me! It seems kind of funny in a way, I mean, with all of the different rapture theories and beliefs. After all these years, the rapture has become very controversial, and practically no one is looking for a new theory. Many believe they will be raptured. Some believers’ don’t even believe in the rapture. Others think they will be martyred. Many others believe they will be protected until the second coming. But the question is: Which of these beliefs is correct? Hold on to your hats, folks! The shocking truth is, all of the above, depending on their reward when the Lord returns. Yes, believe it or not, in this new theory, all of these things will happen to believers.
.
I was breaking down Christ’s answer to His disciples’ question in Matthew 24, verse by verse, about the sign of His coming and the end of the age. Most scholars end their study at the end of chapter 24, concluding that it’s about His physical second coming to the earth. They believe this is God’s judgment of the world. But hold on, not so fast! They have ignored/neglected His parables. We can’t just throw them out, just because they are hard to understand. Christ wasn’t yet finished answering His disciples’ question in chapter 24. His answer included all of chapter 25 as well; so I continued breaking down His entire answer, right on through His complex series of parables. And that’s when He opened my mind, so I could understand them. And did it ever blow my mind! Long story short, I discovered that there are three different types of Christian. I like to think of them as (cold, lukewarm & hot). In the last chapter of the Bible, the Lord said He is coming quickly, and that He is bringing our reward, to give each of us according to our work.
.
Revelation 22:12“And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.”
.
Some are so set in their beliefs they don’t want to even consider another view. Others are quick to claim this is a salvation by works message, but I’m not talking about initial salvation here. We’re all saved by believing and accepting what Christ did on the cross and confessing it with our mouth, but that in no way nullifies the fact that we will each be rewarded for our own works. Of course, I don’t expect you to take my word for it. But, these are not my words. These words are His, and the apostle Paul’s also:
.
2 Corinthians 5:10 “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.”
.
Don’t worry, this is not a salvation issue. But if you are still unsure about it, you can take comfort in knowing that all three types of believer (cold, lukewarm & hot) will be saved in the end anyway, although, some will be smelling like they just went through the fire, while others will be overcome by the beast (see passages below).
.
1 Corinthians 3:12-15“If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, 13 their work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person’s work. 14 If what has been built survives, the builder will receive a reward. 15 If it is burned up, the builder will suffer loss but yet will be saved—even though only as one escaping through the flames.”
.
Revelation 13:7-8“And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. 8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.“
.
Okay, that’s the nuts and bolts of it, so let’s see what it looks like with all of the pieces put together. If you remember, I said there are three (3) types of believer (cold, lukewarm & hot), and each kind will be rewarded accordingly when the Lord returns, but not necessarily at the same time.

The first group (cold) will actually disqualify themselves before the Lord appears in the clouds. The love of many will grow (cold) and they will fall away before the Lord even appears. Unfortunately, many have itching ears, and they have been taught what their itching ears wanted to hear, that they will be out of harms way long before anything bad happens in this world. Yes, it seems that all is well when life is easy, but many of them will fold when life starts becoming more difficult and persecution comes. This group has a much weaker faith than the next two groups.
.
Matthew 24:9-12“Then they will hand you over to be persecuted and will kill you. And you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. 10 Then many will fall away, and betray one another, and hate one another. 11 And many false prophets will rise and will deceive many. 12 Because iniquity will abound, the love of many will grow cold.”
.

2 Thessalonians 2:1-4“Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, 2 that ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. 3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4 who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
.
Then after both, the abomination of desolation, and immediately after the great tribulation (Matt. 24:29-31), the sign of the Son of man will appear. He will be coming in the clouds, where He will send His angels to gather His elect (rapture). This is when He will render His judgment of both, the hot and lukewarm. This is also where, two will be in a field, one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding in the mill, one will be taken and the other left. They are also the ten virgins (both wise & foolish). Many assume that because they didn’t have oil, which they also assume represents the Holy Spirit, that the foolish were never saved. But His parables are very clever. You can easily take a wrong turn, especially if you try to take every detail literally. He said the wise will understand, but the foolish will not. You see, the clues are hidden and mixed in with several stumbling-blocks as well, so everything may not be what it appears at first glance. I give a full breakdown in my book, but there’s not enough space here to do that.
.
First, I’ll cover the elect (hot) that will be taken (gathered). They are hot because they had oil to keep their lamps burning. For those who are ready (elect), those days will be shortened (rapture). They will be kept from the hour of temptation (Rev. 3:10), otherwise no flesh would be saved (rescued). These faithful servants will be rewarded when He comes in the clouds and taken to the wedding supper and/or given meat in due season (see also Luke 12:35-48). They will rule over all that He has and be counted among the greatest in the kingdom.
.
Matthew 24:21-22“for then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.“
.
Revelation 3:10“Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.”
.
Revelation 3:15-19I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. 16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. 17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: 18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. 19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.“
.
On the other hand, while the elect are taken, the lukewarm will be left (see last passage above). Unlike the elect who were ready in the first two passages above, Christ will spit the lukewarm out of His mouth, and they will enter the hour of temptation to be tried like gold (purified in fire). Even though they won’t be ready, they will finally surrender and be purified, after they are killed for refusing the mark of the beast. They will then re-enter His kingdom, because their works (rewards) do follow them (Rev. 14:13), but they will be counted among the least in the kingdom. God will not avenge their blood until the last martyr is killed (Rev. 6:9-11). So the lukewarm will not be ready for the wedding supper, but they will be present for the marriage ceremony, and they, too, will be dressed in white. And after the last martyr is killed, only then will the bride be ready (Rev. 19:7).
.
Revelation 14:13“And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.”
.
Revelation 19:7-9“Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. 8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.”

.
When Christ returns, He’s coming to judge. These are two separate events, one in the clouds (Matt. 24:31) and the second on the earth (Matt. 25:31). These two coming’s are two separate judgments, the first judgment is for His servants, and the other is for the nations (world). The judgment of the nations will not come immediately after the rapture, for it will begin after the wedding supper in heaven, after the hour of temptation, and after the last martyr has been killed, because these martyrs will also be returning with Christ at the second coming.
.
1 Peter 4:17-18 – “For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God, and if it begins first with us, what shall the end be for those who do not obey the gospel of God? 18 And “If the righteous one is scarcely saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?”

.
2 Timothy 4:1“I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom:”
.
Verse 31 is key in both chapters. Matt. 24:31 = Rapture – -> Matt. 25:31 = Second Coming.

Now back to the cold, who will disqualify themselves long before the Lord appears. The falling away is not a judgment of God. Rather, it is a condition of one’s faith, so they must be judged also. And since they no longer live the crucified life or obey His teachings, those who fall away have forfeited their positions in the kingdom, and they will be judged along with the nations (sheep & goats), during Christ’s second coming. However, since they accepted Christ once upon a time, God will still save them because He must keep His promise. They are weak, but He is strong.
.
Therefore, those who fall away will have to survive until the second coming without taking the mark. If they take the mark they are doomed, and God will not have to honor His promise. They will be the only group of believers that will endure God’s wrath on the earth, after the last martyr has been killed. Life on earth will be so terrible then, that they will want to die, but death will flee from them (Rev. 9:6). These are the sheep, that will be separated from the goats at the second coming. They will be subjects in the millennial kingdom, as the saints that return with Christ will reign with Him in glorified spiritual bodies, but the sheep will remain mortals and re-populate the earth.
.
Lastly, I want to briefly mention the goats. The goats are the beast and the false prophet, the kings of the earth and their armies, and everyone who takes the mark of the beast. These will all be cast into the lake of fire.
.
A Summary in Order
Cold
= (Matt. 24:9-12, 25:31-46) Those who will fall away – depart the faith (sheep)
.
Hot = (Matt. 24:31, 40-42, 45-47; 25:10, 21-23) Ready – will be taken – rapture (gathering of the elect)
.
Lukewarm = (Matt. 24:40-42, 48-51; 25:11-12, 26-30) Not ready – will be left – martyr (hour of trial)
.
Now as for the timing of the rapture, I would classify my view as post-trib/pre-wrath. As the scriptures say, the sign of the Son of man will appear immediately after the tribulation of those days (Matt. 24:29). Scripture also says we are not appointed to wrath (1 Thes. 1:10, 5:9). And it should be obvious, that if God waits until the last martyr is killed to avenge their blood, His wrath won’t come until after all saints have reached heaven; especially when we consider that the saints will be returning with Christ (Rev. 19:14), so this includes both, those who are ready (rapture), and the martyrs killed afterward. However, the martyrs killed before the rapture, they will be raised (resurrected) first, with the dead in Christ.
.
Many will claim the end of the tribulation is also the end of the age, but it most certainly is not. We know that sometime after the abomination of desolation, the beast will be told to continue for forty-two months (Rev.13:5), which Daniel called “a time, times and a half a time” (Dan. 7:25, 12:7), and the two witnesses will prophesy during that same 1260 day period (Rev. 11:3). So we can be sure the great tribulation will run for 3 1/2 years. But that still is not the end of the age, because Daniel said these wonders would end after 1290 days, and then he added, “Blessed are those who come to the 1335 days” (Dan. 12:11-12). So there’s an additional 45 days left until the end, which is plenty of time to fulfilled the rest of the end-time prophecies.
.
Here’s another important piece to the puzzle that usually gets overlooked. Just as Christ fulfilled the spring feasts in the first century before He ascended back to heaven, He must likewise fulfill the fall feasts when He returns (Feast of Trumpets, Atonement & Tabernacles). These feasts are the Lord’s appointed times, and all three of them will begin within a 15 day period. All three fall feast’s occur in the month of Tishri (Sept.-Oct.), which is the seventh month on the Hebrew calendar. The feast of Trumpets is the only feast that no one knows the day or the hour it will begin. This feast begins when the first tiny sliver of the new moon appears. It’s a two day feast, because the moon does not always appear on the first day. Here are the dates for the fall feasts:
.
1 & 2 Tishri – Feast of Trumpets (new moon)
10 Tishri – Day of Atonement
15 Tishri – Feast of Tabernacles (full moon)
.
I believe the rapture (sign of the Son of man) will occur on the feast of trumpets, which will also signal the end of the times of the Gentiles. All the tribes of the earth (scattered Israel) will mourn for the one they have pierced when they see it. And they will look up and know their redemption draws near. I believe He will save the remnant in Israel on the Day of Atonement. Many believe the Lord’s second coming will be on the Day of Atonement, but it may also happen five Days later on the Feast of Tabernacles, but another 30 days will still remain after the Feast of Tabernacles begins, according to Daniel’s timeline, so it’s hard to say exactly. But I’d expect the world to witness the rapture, Israel being saved, and His second coming during these fall feasts.
.
Why are these days important? They allow for the fall feast days to be fulfilled, and they also allow the days to be shortened for the sake of the elect, otherwise no flesh would be saved. In other words, if the elect are not kept from the hour of trial (Rev. 3:10), then there would be no Christians left alive to be raptured, because the beast would then overcome all Christians (Rev. 13:7-8). But God cannot allow all living Christians to be killed. Some (those who are ready) must be included in the gathering in the clouds, because Paul’s prophecy must also be fulfilled (1 Thes. 4:16-17). These additional 45 days allow the necessary time to fulfill all of the foretold prophecies, including God’s wrath. This is how the days will be shortened for the sake of the elect, without shortening the appointed 3.5 years, 42 months and/or 1260 days of the great tribulation. Therefore, the end will still come at the appointed time.

In Rev.11:15
We see that the kingdoms of the world, become the kingdom of Christ.
Christ reigns here on earth.
Rev.11:18
And Thy wrath is come, give reward to the prophets, and to the saints....
This is after the tribulation of Satan.
2 witnesses were killed.
There is no left behind theory...
The wrath only affects those whom receive the Mark of the beast.

The gathering takes place at this time, Rev.20:6 as above scriptures...
He makes us priest and shall reign with Him.
As 1Thess.4:14 indicates, God will bring those with Him, those whom are deceased in Jesus..
He is coming here to reign...gather us to reign with Him in His kingdom here.

Also sometimes kill, death, so forth can mean spiritually, kill the soul...
I also believe in Rev.3:10,
When it states He will keep them from the "hour of temptation", to me it sounds that they are tempted.
But I will be kept away from being tempted because I will not find Satan tempting, but rather an abomination...Matt.24:15 standing in the Holy place..
As 2Thess.2:4
Satan sitting in the temple of God, claiming to be God...
Also I believe that the time has been shorten to 5 months..
Rev.9:1-11
The angels of the bottomless pit , were to torture man, spiritually, for 5 months..

Deception is how Satan works, as he deceived Eve.
Don't be deceived!

Something to ponder...
Have a good day

Should we believe Jesus Christ's disciples were only lukewarm Christians since they were martyred?
No, not at all. The martyrs killed before He appears will rise first, then those who are alive and remain. Only those who aren't ready, they will enter the hour of temptation, where they will be overcome by the beast.

The shocking truth is, all of the above, depending on their reward when the Lord returns. Yes, believe it or not, in this new theory, all of these things will happen to believers.

I appreciate the book peddling. It reminded me of a couple of motivational speakers who drew on all past presentations, then packaged as much as they could from everyone else and sold it again.

The simple litmus test I run to tell if any believer is accurate or not stems from Matt. 4:4 and Luke 4:4 where it shows that "man" shall live by every Word of God. Not just some Word for some believers and some for others. If we fall into parsing it brings harmony issues that can't be resolved. It is actually much easier to say, as you do, that everything will happen, but that claim breaks down when you parse, applying Word to certain types or not to certain types. The claim then is circular. So, no, not all of these things will happen to believers. Some things happen to some believers and some things won't, by your own admissions. And that won't cut the scriptural mustard of Matt. 4:4 and Luke 4:4. <- This standard is a tough gig to understand, remedy and harmonize. It can't be legitimately done by parsing. But that's what everyone tries and fails at. So it's really nothing new.

Will all who enter the hour of temptation be overcome by the beast?
No, the lukewarm saints will be overcome, this will be their purification, just as gold is purified in fire. After all of the martyrs are killed, then the bride will be ready.
But there will be other believers who will survive without taking the mark, those who fall away and depart the faith. After the martyrs are killed, they will want to die, but death will flee from them (Rev. 9:6). God will protect them. They will be the sheep that will be separated from the goats.
And there will also be the remnant Jews and the tribes that are still scattered in the nations of the world. I can only guess at this, but I would imagine that many Jews will take the mark, but God has always saved a remnant.

But there will be other believers who will survive without taking the mark, those who fall away and depart the faith. After the martyrs are killed, they will want to die, but death will flee from them (Rev. 9:6). God will protect them. They will be the sheep that will be separated from the goats.

Are those the cold believers? If they fall away and depart the faith then how are they still believers? Why would they refuse the mark if they've fallen away? Why would they be sheep instead of goats if they've departed the faith?

Yes, they are cold. They received Christ once upon a time, but they are carnal Christians. Their faith is weak, but God must still honor His promise to save everyone who calls on His name. He cannot lie, which is why they cannot die, as long as they don't take the mark. If God allowed these to die, the only resurrection left would be the resurrection of damnation, but they received Christ so that is not an option. The resurrection of the just ends when the last martyr is killed, so that will no longer be an option. This is why God must protect them through His wrath. These are those saved, yet only like one escaping through the flames (1 Cor. 3:15). And these are also the servants who receive many stripes (severe punishment) in Luke 12:47. They will be subjects in the millennium.

To characterize and express what smaller is trying to get across I look to the Scribes and Pharisees for my example. In order to better understand, when you read the following scripture, how do you perceive yourself.

Matthew 23:13-15
But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in. Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows 'houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation. Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.

When you read those scriptures condemning the scribes and Pharisees, did you think of yourself right there by the side of Jesus standing in condemnation of the scribes and Pharisees, as if you were Jesus himself?

Or, when you read those scriptures condemning the scribes and Pharisees, did you receive the condemnation as one of the scribes and Pharisees. The word that was given was meant to be received by the hypocrites. If you were one who stood in condemnation of the hypocrite, then you did not receive the word God that was intended for you to live by. And by this, smaller would say that you are not living by "every" word of God.

When do they finally die? Do they live throughout the millenium?

It's good to put ones self in the position of the "hearer/receiver/doer" of the Word, not as "The Speaker." When reading that is.

Jesus gave "us" all some warnings about hypocrisy-> because the flesh will always sit in that seat, by nature.

As to the new and different rapture theory, you have to buy into the general premise to begin with. Orthodoxy for example and large bodies of Protestants don't even go there. It's not like the rapture as it is commonly proposed, pre/mid/trib is the only way to see things. The rapture theories have been so ridiculed by the mainstream it's almost a hindrance to witnessing i.e. unbelievers can see it as media hype for cash to the promoters, which it has become, sadly. Think of the "Left Behind" scare mongering. While it is true that Jesus is Love in the Pure Spiritual sense He is also scary to the flesh without the need of the rapture scare of "don't get left behind." "It's not too late."

It's never too late. Today is always the day for Him.

When do they finally die? Do they live throughout the millenium?
Honestly, I have not studied so much about life during the millennium, so I can only tell you a little about what I believe, without searching for the scriptures that support it. But I believe when Christ returns, the curse will be lifted from the time when Adam & Eve fell. Everything will be restored, so yes, I believe their life spans will expand again as well. Adam lived over 900 years, so I would imagine they will do the same in the millennium. Here's a pretty good article about that time: https://bible.org/seriespage/15-second-coming-christ-and-millennial-kingdom

That curse was lifted 2000 years ago. Christ has now become the curse for us.

Romans 5:18
Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

1 Cor 15:22
For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

Galatians 3:13
Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree.

All of mankind is dead in Christ, whether they believe in him or not. This is the first resurrection. Christ has been made death for us. The free gift of grace is justification to life through faith. This is the resurrection to life in Christ. But not all accept this free gift, and therefore are not justified to life, but they continue trying to obtain salvation through the works of the law, these are in part those resurrected to damnation in Christ. They are dead in Christ, yet they do not live in Christ, they remain subject to the second death.

Christ has overcome and taken back the keys of death, hell and the grave, and He has redeemed those who believe, but all of creation is still waiting to be liberated.

Romans 8:18-23 - "I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. 19 For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. 20 For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God. 22 We know that the whole creation has been as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. 23 Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies."
