ABC to Air Outrageous Pilot!

ABC (no surprise here) has definite plans to air the pilot of this new show still in production. The name of the series is the same as the book that it is based on. Obviously, as a Christian, I take issue with this title. It's rare that you have a Christian portrayed in a positive light, but the notion of a network coming out with this title is outrageous.

If any faith group will be subjected to shots like this, it will be Christians. We seem to be fair game for anything. I can't think of too many Christians portrayed in a positive light, unless their faith depicted is so watered down, they are no longer "Christians". Michael Landon comes to mind as an example.

Does this shock you? Does it upset you? What are your thoughts on Christian characters or actors in TV?

Just like the book, this is a show by Christians, for (mostly) Christians, to enjoy a little prime-time self-deprecation,†Los Angeles-based entertainment expert, Jenn Hoffman said.

Yeah... I love self-deprecation. I do it all the time...NOT

all the more reason i dont watch tv. i would like them try that with islam.

ABC is just one big bully. Those producing this show (about gossiping Christians) are out right bullies!

They would never do this to Muslims, because they would receive death threats and even attempts on their lives. Since Islam is their bully, the secular world turns around and bullies Christians knowing that we are called to forgive and bless.

This is why it will be awful on the day of judgement for them. God may say: "My people showed you love, forgiveness, mercy, and blessings when you mistreated and slandered them, what have you to say?"

What could anyone say? :nono2

This is disgusting. You'll never see a show about the Christian church that ministers to prostitutes, or the missionaries who put their lives on the line in Communist China or the Middle East, or Christians who dedicate their lives to those in aids ridden Africa.

May God have mercy on their heads, because they are sowing the seeds of evil, and their harvest will be evil multiplied.

This is sick! But I expect nothing less from this society, which is rapidly declining. I don't watch TV either, and obviously I'm missing nothing.:nono2

I don't have Cable tv or satellite tv - it's because of THIS kind of outrage that I won't support that industry.

Last summer, I finally got fed up with what passes for TV programming here. With only a few exceptions, such as Californication and Desparate Houswives, most of the material isn't anti-Christian, as such. It's mostly just boring. Even when I had cable with about 70 stations, there was often nothing good on. I sat down and did some math (my favorite thing to do in my spare time). I figured I was spending about 600 - 700 dollars a year on cable. That's a lot of money when you're not getting anything good for it. I went to amazon.com and checked how much TV material I could buy for that price. When I saw their prices, there was no question of what to do next. I ordered some old TV shows that I remember from when I was growing up in Oklahoma, and now I have my own TV schedule.
