Accepting Of Me

I want to thank all of you who have been accepting of me on the forums so far. I was on a different bible forum and they hated my guys just because yes, I admit it: don't go to church. They were banning me from posting until I went and I felt it to be wrong. If people don't go, then so what. It's their choice. Anyway, that's why I am thanking you for accepting me the way I am: imperfect. You guys are the best.

Yeah, the people here are very civil and friendly. I've been banned from several christian forums for funny reasons (having two accounts, trolling, being for Obama during the 2008 election, being impolite, not believing in predestination, joking....). But getting banned for not going to church? That's crazy. A forum banning you for something you do in real life is just nuts. Heck, banning someone for making a mistake on the internet is already crazy, since we are all imperfect, like you say.
I've never actually seen anyone get banned during the entire year I've been active here.

Well hello and my apologies for not saying Hi earlier! We're glad your here and I hope you continue to run into compassionate and understanding Christians to help you as we build each other up in Christ. We're trying really hard to make our site a warm and comfortable place where we can all just be Christians and support one another. We're not perfect, but we have a vision and a hope for this place, and we're glad that your a part of it!

I likes me my church. But for only one reason - to share and to recharge. If I wanted a rock, I'd go to a quarry, right?

IN any case, welcome and it is my hope that the Lord will bring you to all those whom He loves so that you too may find joy thereby. View attachment 3686 There's lots of room here, room enough for Growth too! And you never know, where we are weak? There is HE strong. You could be an instrument of change. It could happen as we follow it's normal to just toss down those things that so easily beset.

Status: Running to Him.
Thought Bubble: . o O ("Oppsie! That hurt")
"Ok, this is normal. Got it."
Status: Running to Him (renewed and refreshed)

Keep on running but now without that thing any more. Good to be among others who know about and expect healing as well as change, isn't it?

Welcome again!

Cordially,
Sparrow

Thanks guys for the warm welcomes to the forums. I REALLY am glad that you are accepting me. I accept you all for who you are. I would never ban anyone of you for trivial things like what some of us are banned for. You are who you are, and if these forums can't accept it, then they don't deserve us as members.

Here is the forum I was banned from. And I will never ever go join again.

Let us then bless them and wish them well in hopes that they would win some for Christ so that the past might be left behind and we continue to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus because unity isn't uniformity and we all belong to the same body.

Be blessed!

Again, I want to say thank you for accepting me for my flaws. I'm certainly not perfect as you saw. But, you guys have been patient with me. So, thanks for accepting me. This forum is the best one I have been on so far. And I mean that from the bottom of my heart.

Welcome and while I would never and others on here likely won't be mean for you not going to church, I would certainly encourage it ;)

None of us are perfect and since I have to live with myself I know personally how imperfect I am, so I couldn't fairly expect perfection from others. :)

banned for liking Obama? wow, never mind, im sure that forum wouldn't like me because I don't believe in futurism.

It was a little more than just liking Obama, but the liberalism was definitely a part of it since I was very outspoken about it, although not being an American myself. That wasn't very wise.
However that forum doesn't exist anymore now. It's a bit sad because I have some fond memories of it, too.

People are nicer in real life. I do not know why, but writings somehow miss this important face to face aspect.

Exploding debates do not happen in real life, people are more apologetic, and more concerned about feelings. And yet, when they log in, they miss a lot, as I think. We just need to discount for that, and pay particular attention to our hearts.

If it was not for the hearts, we would be dead, as I think.

With love.

Yeah that's one aspect of the internet anonymity. We are safe and distant behind our screens and don't have to face the same social consequences of our misbehaviour that we would in real life. For some people (those that suffer from social anxiety) that's extremely helpful, but for many others it's like a free ticket to do whatever they want. Also, as we don't see the other people's face and their reaction to our words we don't empathise as much as in real life. Thus we are less "nice" on the internet, because we don't resonate with the other one's emotional state. It's all pretty much down on an informational level. Realising that the others are people with feelings, too, often requires some extra cognitive effort while in face to face conversation it doesn't - we'd naturally see that the other one is a person with feelings.
