my brother used to post videos of apologetics on you tube.i use that sight for entertainment. there are other sources that can be legit and I simply posted that. the dea one didn't work. I don't know why.

I have also used that for science stuff but that was from a link to a legit museum or school and didn't have anything to do with evolution. just on how aviation lungs work.

when I was in HS dudes would put heroin in pot and smoke it. I don't know if thats super common though. The only time I did heroin I snorted it. I popped a lot of pain pills way back when.

I grew up in that world and I'm here to tell you, a doper will smoke anything. I've seen it, I've done it. It's as common as putting gasoline in a vehicle.

Your most out of sync with this current conversation as it applies to opiate addictions in the U.S. While it's true that heroin and oxycotin all the other opiates can be smoked, that's for the recreational drug abuser and not necessarily the transformed addict. it's about bang for the bag and the biggest bang is IV usage and the lowest Bang is smoking. Very few addicts start out as IV users and in reality, most heroin addicts started out innocently enough with what they thought was a harmless prescription from the doctor. Once addicted, heroin is cheaper and easier to attain.

My brother died 4 years ago as an IV opiate addict. We are all plagued with addictive personalities. He broke his arm and leg while hiking and was prescribed oxycontin. Once his addiction controlled his life he became a small heroin dealer. His profit from his monthly sales were consistently around 5 to 7 thousand dollars. Most of the profit from his heroin sales went to purchase his preferred drug, which was oxycontin.

Choice... For some, its complicated. For an addict in recovery, choice is fundamental. A gal I know puts it this way. I simply don't open that door. I shut out all those old thoughts.

A person with an addictive personality has a physical disadvantage when it comes to consistently making the better choices. Environment also plays a huge role in how a choice is made. Put a person in an abusive or neglectful environment and sustain that environment and then throw some alcohol, meth and an opiate into the room and the reward system of the mind will choose the drug many times.

Take them out of the abusive or neglectful environment, and you'll separate the addict from the abuser because the abuser will only go through the physical withdrawal and rarely, if ever crave the drug again.

I've been praying and trying to figure out a way for several years. When I lost my brother, I was too emotionally frozen to continue thinking how to help addicts. When I lost my daughter, I promised I would not give up what God put on my heart many, many years ago.

can you show me that we aren't sinners without the need to show me the sin first? we all sin, some will sin in one way and another way for another person. while drugs has never had any power nor hold over me nor would it . I have been one the outside of social interactions and while im not immune to peer pressure. I figured if I must used drugs to be cool then I must have a problem . so I decided when I hit to the lowest point of my life prior to the cross to try jesus and that is what I did pray.(though worded differently). for you gay urges is likely foreign to you. I had my first urge at age 10. never touched, kissed any boy nor was a I raped. it just was there. can it be the same with some drugs? some have the disposition to have it and unknown to them until it happens that they feed it and trigger it.

I am not so sure, Gary. I want to agree - but I have seen it in my own brother.
I think there is evidence that addiction could be a form of mental illness. Perhaps not in ALL cases, but in some.
