aliens...O_o

I know its season one that she did. and that was the pilot episode.

Oh okay. Anyway my two cents' is that she looks nice in both pants and in a skirt, as per link, above; doesn't seem a big deal either way, really.

Blessings.

I wouldn't say that I believe in aliens but I'm open to the possibility. If there were aliens I'll bet they know Jesus. I've always wondered what this verse meant:
john 10:16

marina sirtis is a blond and doesn't have as big of breasts. she is also has stared in gargoyles as an evil gargoyle. I think she was Ramona. not sure.

jasoncran: Yes, well I was concentrating exclusively on the pants/skirts aspect, and not other ones, really.

Blessings.

if you notice, unlike the old trek the female characters on st:tng that were regulars weren't as attractive. that changed with dax, seven of nine and tpol.

jasoncran: Well, I don't know about hierarchies of attractiveness or anything like that, but to me anyway Uhuru was typical of the original Star Trek. (She didn't have to wear pants, either, like they now seem to.)

yes, well unhuru was of the time. she wasn't really that deep of a character. unlike troi, or dr.crusher/picard.yes they married and have a son rene.

jasoncran: Uhuru looked like a very typical lady from the 1960s.

Which both places her and dates her in a sense, although retro 60s has become fashionable as well, I guess.

Blessings.

farouk , for the record. I didn't watch trek for the women and yes I did notice them but the story line . the new movies suck. they have destroyed what Roddenberry wanted.

jasoncran:

In the 1960s, they wanted to portray the spaceships of the future. Now they want to have sitcom-style psycho-analysis, I suppose.

As a bit of social history, the 1960s editions can be interesting; for example, some states had just emerged from segregation and the fact that Nichelle Williams played Uhuru shows that integration was quietly being promoted.

its nichelle Nichols btw and no, he was an atheist and humanist. theres a reason he went to khan and eugenics, the idea of that war to unify the earth. Starfleet in the show has little of that military that I adore but in the books it does.

I disagree with his utopian views but it makes good material to teach with.roddenbery is also a ww2 air force pilot.

jasoncran:

Oops, of course; I knew it was Nichelle Nichols; my mistake. Hard to believe she is now 80; in the episodes she seems like a typical 60s young lady. How the years go by!

Blessings.

yes, of that crew, only her, shatner, nimoy, takei, koenig are alive and well majel barret.

Yes, the decades just seem to hurtle by, don't they. (Psalm 90 is relevant here, I think.) When it comes to dress customs and fashion, however, they seem in a measure to be cyclical; coming and going, out of fashion; back in fashion; hems down and up and down and up; there's nothing really new that happens, but a 60s production is a cameo or snapshot of what prevailed at the time.

Blessings.

true, while I like the st:tos, and always will. I don't like how they viewed the female officers and enlisted. a yeoman is an enlisted person. its outdated and was in use in the 40's and up to the 80's today I think that is a title that is no called something else.

jasoncran: I know what you mean; I think Uhura was an officer though. (Sorry, I spelt the name wrong before.)

Blessings.

uhura was a communication officer. she held the rank of captain in star trek v, and vi. I was talking about yeoman rand. I found her more attractive but she was enlisted!

I think Aliens could possibly exist...we will never know till we can ask God. By saying no it's not possible we are limiting what God can do. He is FAR beyond our understanding.

What we DO know is that life does exist on other worlds...granted, it's microscopic. :)
