Some animals use “tools” to perform tasks, but these phenomena are far simpler than the tool-making abilities God gave to people.

AIG misses the point:

Further, arguing that humans are not special because animals make tools too is specious. What makes humans special is not our ability to make tools, do math, or solve puzzles. While it is clear that man possesses many abilities that animals haven’t come close to attaining, what makes man special is that he is made in the very image of God (Genesis 1:26–27). While theologians have long debated the exact meaning of this, one thing the image of God entails is the ability to have a direct, personal relationship with the Creator of the universe, something no animal, chimp, or otherwise, can ever attain.

If it was to become known that some other animals, or alien beings from another world, were to be able to have a personal relationship with God, would that somehow degrade our relationship with Him to the point that it was no longer "special?"

I don't see how.

Many things in science can not be explained if there is no actual proof, especially when it comes to the things of God.

Whether their are actual aliens or not as nothing has ever been proven, but in theory only, just like the animals and humans were all created by God. IMO I think animals, that also have souls, do have a personal relationship with Christ in a way that we can not understand as it is not revealed to us. It is God that breathed life into them making them a living soul just as He did man. Genesis 1:29-30; Ecc 3:19-21; Isaiah 11:6

I don't know one way or the other, but I hope so. I would be so happy to see my old friends again.

Each relationship with Jesus is different then another's as none of them make us special, IE: animals or humans, as we come to Him in various ways. God's grace is sufficient that we are made a royal priesthood with Him.

Seems a reasonable conclusion, given the world we have, and the scripture He gave us.
