I was into Naruto for about a year. Well, I move on from series to series very quickly. The interest I had had in Dragon Ball for the last two years is beginning to die down now.

edit: if you like Naruto, you might really like My Hero Academia too

Currentttt series is....my brother has me watching what I guess is a sort of moe series right now. It's called New Game. It's about a group of girls who work professionally in game development though, which is unusual.

Also watched Mob Psycho 100 recently, which was very good and is getting a season 2 this year. It has an unusual art style, and was written by the same author who wrote One Punch Man.
Also recently watched My Hero Academia (or Boku no Hero Academia, if you're like the rest of the internet and for some reason insist on not translating the word Boku). Which is also getting another season this year. Actually, several of the series I either have loved a lot, or that I'm very interested in (Persona 5) are getting new seasons this year. It's a good year for anime.

Oh yes. My brother also loves JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, which means I'm made to watch it too. The "bizarre" part of the title is veryyy fitting, as this series is ri-dic-u-lous. But in a way that makes it even better, because it's over the top entirely on purpose. It's like it knows it's stretching things, but it does it in a way that it's awesome.
JoJo (the series) is very violent and gorey at times though. When the manga first began in the '80s, according to what I read on wikipedia, it originally ran in a shonen (boys) magazine, but then just got too mature and violent, so it was moved to a seinen publication. (Seinen is aimed at ages 20 and up.) Also, a lot of the protagonists in each arc are either delinquents or hot heads, lel.

Currently for games/visual novels I am finishing up the routes in Clannad. Clannad was my 2nd anime and pretty much solidified my interest in anime (because I wanted to find other stories just as deep as that one), so when I heard the visual novel (which is the original) was coming to steam I was very excited. A friend actually bought it for me last year, and I played all the way to the true ending. There were about five or six routes I never completed, so I'm doing it now.
If you've seen the anime and enjoyed it, you NEED to play the visual novel. The anime is good, the original is 300x times better and more satisfying. It's around $40 on steam, less if you take advantage of one of steam's numerous sales.

Awesome. I need to catch up on Jojo, I have the first 2 arcs on DVD and need to see the rest. I love how zanny and how many hard rock and metal references they throw at the audience, I'm finally watching Berzerk because I'm an Oldtaku and after taking advantage of some sales over the holiday I'm reliving my anime child hood. Plus Hulu has Gundam Wing now so I'm going to rewatch that guilty pleasure.

Pretty boys with problems YEAH!

Oh yes, I found a list of all the music references and was surprised at how many I didn't even catch. XD I heard the author likes Western culture a lot, so I guess it makes sense. (Maybe that's also why the first two arcs take place in Britain, US, and Europe.)

Im a huge 80s metal and classic rock geek so when I heard speedwagon’s Name the first time I had to pause the show and laugh for a minute. X3

Right now I'm watching Yona of the Dawn (Akatsuki no Yona). It's very good, I'd like to check out the manga. Especially since I'm nearly done with the first season of the anime.
I also am watching Library War. A friend of mine let me borrow her manga of that series, and I liked it, so when I heard there was an anime I wanted to check it out. (I don't like that they changed the protag's hair color for some reason, lol.)

My brother keeps wanting me to keep up with seasonal anime. I'm giving a couple a try, but I do best when I can binge series instead of watching several weekly.
He also wanted me to watch Blend-s. I only have three episodes left.

I'm so far behind in my watching. I'm trying to rewatch all of Gargoyles and I've fallen out of Anime. I also just got Outlaw Star so I'm defiantly watching that.

Right now for seasonal anime I'm keeping up with Darling in the Franxx and Takagisan. (I actually don't remember the full title of the second one.)
Darling is a scifi. And Takagisan is just a slice of life about a girl teasing the guy she likes lol. But it's cute.
I'm also watching Pop Team Epic as the simuldub comes out, but mostly because my brother wanted me to. It's sort of a weird one.

I think I mentioned I started watching Shakugan no Shana? It's a good series, more than a decade old and with an art style that reminds me of 90's anime honestly. But I am enjoying it, not very far in though.
Actually, I've been distracted by The Future Diary (Mirai Nikki). Thaaaaat's a very M rated and violent one, lol, haven't watched one of those in a while. I'm about halfway through already though, it's definitely engaging.

Aside, I finally was able to buy a PlayStation Vita today. A couple weeks ago my neighbor had actually bought me the game I was going to get because she wanted to do something nice for me, so..... One. More. Week. :biggrin My Vita will be here by next week and then I'll be playing Persona 4 Golden after three years of pining for it.
I also eventually plan to buy the Neptunia games released on the Vita.

I don't think I ended up talking about it in this thread, but
Erased
EXCELLENT anime. 12 episodes. Short, but riveting and very well written. One of the very best in recent years.

I'm also rewatching Death Note cuz I recently bought the full series on DVD for $20.
I didn't realise it before, the first time I watched, but Light doesn't have a slow descent into a god complex at all. He's pretty much a sociopath from the beginning, thinking to himself about potentially killing a classmate with no remorse. The guy was bullying another student, but still. My impression before had been that absolute power corrupts absolutely, but I'm getting a different impression this time.
But I'm still very early in.

And Takagisan is just a slice of life about a girl teasing the guy she likes lol. But it's cute.
Takagisan ended up being fun. I'm sad that it ended at 12 episodes.
It's cute and innocent. I don't know how a series pretty much just built around the premise in the quote ended up as entertaining as it was. I suppose the innocious romantic subplot definitely helps, but I'll just chalk it up to a talented writer.

Edit: hmmm, I actually don't know if the romance could be considered a subplot or not. On one hand, the girl (Takagi) has a crush on the boy (Nishikata) and that's an essential element. It's also stupidly obvious that they become a thing at some future point. (There's a spinoff manga already where they are married and have a daughter.)
On the other, the plot, at least what's covered in the anime, doesn't really focus too awful much on the romance aspect. It's there, but it's more subtle and less in your face.

Well, back to this thread again.
Currently I'm watching Assassination Classroom. The basic plot is.....the students have to kill their teacher before the end of the year, or he's going to blow up the entire Earth. Two seasons, I'm about 6 episodes from the end. It's not what I was expecting from the outset, but it's very good.

My brother also has me watching The Disastrous Life of Saiki K. It's a comedy about a psychic who's just trying to live a normal life and keep his powers a secret.
Asideee from that, there's also.....I was watching season two of Mob Psycho 100. (Another show about a psychic.) I still have three episodes left, and have yet to finish it. It's very, very much worth checking out though!
And season 4 of My Hero Academia.

I made an anime list on Anilist to get an idea of how many series I've watched.....apparently, less than I thought ^^;
Soooo, what I ended up with was around 141, including series I either have yet to watch or dropped entirely. And some of them are listed multiple times because they're counting other seasons as a separate thing.
You can take a look if you want:

Just finished an anime called Your Lie in April. Romance anime, sad ending.

Also watching K-On!, which is about high school girls who start a band in the school music club.
And the second season of Fate Stay/Night Unlimited Blade Works. It's ..... Interesting

I recently finished an anime called K-On!. It had two seasons, plus a movie. It's about high school girls who are in an after-class music club, but they are very lazy. That's the entire plot. The anime is very slice-of-life, and there are no major overarching conflicts. I enjoyed it though.

Also finally finished My Hero Academia season 5. MHA is a very good series with excellent writing and world building. This season got incredibly dark in its second half though, I don't think I've ever seen a shonen go that much into horror before.

I love MHA because of its exploration of how super powers and heros/villains would work in a realistic setting. I love the world building. I need to binge season 5.

Lately been watching Fire Force. Some fan service, but it gets pretty interesting after you get past the 10 episode mark. It's not.... bad before that, there's just some stuff I find hard to believe.
Also, the second opening is a metal song. Haha!

Umm, other than that..... well, here is my "currently watching" list on anilist:
1644121184594.png

Also, my friend from church recommended a short, 12 episode anime called Horimiya.

Whoo, been a year and a half.

Still watching Haikyuu, just finished the first season! I take forever to watch things.... because I'm working and have little energy outside of work I guess

It's a beautiful depiction of the world of volleyball in a highschool team, I think. I love how fiction has the power to let us see other people's worlds and perspectives
