anime

The English and Japanese voice actors for Goku at a Q&A panel. Cool, huh?

I forgot how fun looking up con panels could be.

My friend showed me the first episode... I then bought(I don't usually buy most anime) and pulled an all nighter till it was done. One of my favorite anime by far, the movies were awesome as well. Thanks for sharing that video, very interesting.
An anime that could be said to be similar, probably, is Code Geass. It's set in another world where the Britanian empire controls the world, and a character who was born as a Britanian prince gains a power where he can control people, and he leads a rebellion by creating a terrorist organization. Another character, who was the Britanian princes's childhood friend, believes in changing the system from within.

I have seen it on Cartoon Network way back when. Didn't catch my fancy however...

I really don't look forward to similar anything when it comes to Anime or Manga. I like original ideas and the creative way its expressed. Also the art style is a key point as well.

I kinda took a break on reading or watching anything. I told myself I would focus on the Bible for now.

Well I don't know about the fandom at large, but about three episodes in and I really like Dragon Ball Super so far. So far it seems to be a retelling of the movie Battle of Gods. I loved that movie, and one thing I liked about it was the mix between slice of life and action.

I've watched a whole lot of InuYasha with my wife, and she watched every bit of Fullmetal Alchemist with me. I watched a good chunk of Attack on Titan and I have seen a lot of DBZ. Besides that I haven't seen very much! Fullmetal is some of the best TV I've ever watched though.

Fullmetal Alchemist is a masterpiece IMO.

I'm reading the Inuyasha manga currently, a friend has a lot of the volumes.

So, this weekend at the suggestion of someone on another site I began watching an oldie called Saint Seiya, and a newer spinoff manga based off of it except the main character is female. I think it's also known as Knights of the Zodiak?
I like the old animation actually, kinda nostalgic.

I recently powered through all of Tengen Toppa Gurran Laggan and Kill La Kill. I have to say that both were emotional experiences. Neither are for children though. Plus I'm rewatching Cowboy Bebop and Space Dandy while waiting for the 2nd season box set to release at the end of the month. Can't wait.

Ah, Kill la Kill! I watched that on Toonami! I saw Gurran Laggan on there, too, but got bored about five episodes in. I should try to watch it another time.

Watched No Game No Life recently, mainly because someone wanted me to watch it with them. It was cool.

Lets say that Gurran Laggan finds its footing around episode 10. From there on out its a ride. O.O

Well Goku is officially part of my "most favorite characters ever" crew, and I think he's there to stay.

....so, take a guess as to what movie I'll be seeing this weekend.
I liked this movie so much that I pre-ordered the DVD release that's coming next month.

I'm seeing that the dubs of Free! and DuRaRaRa x2 are out now...both of them I was waiting for the dub release. DuRaRaRa because I watched the first series in dub and am used to that, and Free!...well, my favorite voice actor landed a role, so that's my main reason.

Hey, Milk-Drops
I will probably watch GT sooner or later. Which would be better, dub or sub? I prefer dubs when available usually, but in the case of Dragon Ball I dislike how they changed the dialogue in their earlier dubs. Is the GT dub close enough that it's not a big deal? I heard one mistake in the dub is they have Goku gone for 10 years at the beginning, when in the original it was only 5.

Two years since I posted here. Wow.

Well, I'm still very much into anime. Aside from just Asian cartoons, I now have an interest in jrpg games and visual novels. Well, I did have an interest in jrpg before. But now I'm actually able to save up for some, so the interest is keener. And I've discovered more series since then.

I just finished playing a visual novel called Narcissu. It's free on steam, it's been around since 2005, so you can get the first two free. But buying the rest is pretty inexpensive, especially during steam sales.
It's a series of visual novels that deal with terminal illness. Right from the start, I thought the concept was interesting. Literature lets you walk in the shoes of someone else, you get to see the world through their eyes. And, Narcissu is beautifully written. I like the way the words flow. The VN does an excellent job, at giving the words life.
It's not meant to make you cry, or even make you feel sad for the characters. Though, I did cry at the very end.

The 2nd one, is a prequel to the first, and also deals with terminal illness. One of the characters is a "former Catholic", and this plays a big part in the story. I appreciated how that element was handled, to be honest. (As the story takes place in Japan, usually when they think of Christianity they think of Catholicism.)

The first two novels are free, so I'd highly recommend giving them a chance if you have a steam account. They can be run on just about any computer since they are the point and click type of games. There's even a port version for thr iPhone, apparently.
