Another Reason NOT to Play in Las Vegas

I have no interest in Las Vegas or casino's in general, but this caught my attention when they were talking about it on a local radio show. A roulette wheel in Vegas hit Red 19 a stunning (and suspicious) 7 times in a row! This is said to have a 1 in 114 Billion chance of happening! And if that's not crazy enough, Black 20 came up 4 times. All of that happened in 16 spins!

Biased wheel or random chance?
It’s a question worth asking after a roulette wheel at the Rio in Las Vegas came up Red 19 not once, not twice, but seven consecutive times late Monday night.
Poker pro Jeff Romano tweeted a picture (see below) of the roulette board, which reveals the previous 16 spins. Half of the spins were Red 19 and four of them were Black 20. The other four numbers: 0, 5, 15 and 23.
So, 12 of 16 spins (75%) on a wheel with 38 numbers landed on two numbers just one numeral apart.
If you think it’s random, consider this: The odds of the same roulette number coming up seven consecutive times on a fair wheel is 1-in-114,415,582,592.
That’s roughly one in 114 billion.
The whole casino thing is shady to me, and this makes it even worse! Even if you don't think gambling like this is sinful, why would you go to a place where this has happened. Doesn't it seem rigged?

What place can possibly be as sleazy as Las Vegas?

They don't call it "Sin City" for nothing. However, while visiting Vegas I found that there are other things to do there besides gamble. Just have to be careful on the Strip where prostitution is legal and they approach you to hand you flyers and stuff for their services. Yuck! I believe New Orleans is another demonic city filled with witchcraft. I honestly believed the city flooded because of that.

I've played penny poker with friends, but for fellowship purposes. Other than that, gambling is of no interest to me. I'm a full believer in grace, but other than buffets an visiting the pawn shop from "Pawn Stars" I don't have any desire to go there. There's gotta be something other to do there but they sure don't talk about it.

Good call about new orleans too. I lived there for four years, and there are things I like about the city. But the sleaze and overall decadence of the city is beyond comparison in the US. Of course, I haven't been to Vegas, though.

I've never been to Las Vegas or New Orleans, but as far as I know, it isn't legal to sell sex in New Orleans. I have no idea how they're able to pull that off! How was that law passed?

I'm also stuck on this roulette thing. I don't know jack about roulette, but I think someone could (legitimately) spin the wheel every minute for the next 1000 years and not hit one number 7 times in a row. People who go there expecting to make money are like people who play the lotto for the same reason. They all failed math in high school.

Could you rephrase this?

the legal age is 21 there but on bourbon st if you can reach over the counter you can drink. seen it myself.

Far be it from me to defend Bourbon Street. It's definitely hedonism. But good grief, this kind of stuff happens in cities all over America. Look at your own Fort Lauderdale or Daytona Beach when the spring break crowd invades.

Las Vegas - legalized prostitution, the American Original cesspool of gambling, organized crime, drugs, and "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas" marketing. There are some very bad places in our country.

a players ball is where the pimps rent a theater or what not and sell their products. they dance etc and well..

ah yes ft.lauderdale. what a crap hole. i did some guard duty there. not all of it is bad theres the two churches that i listen too and one of them is pastored by billy graham's grandson. the others is pastor bob coy. my chaplians home church is down there. its florida. sun and girls that well is going to have some of that going on. to my knowledge few floridians go to daytona for spring break. why would we? i live on the beach and can be on the shore within 10 minutes.
