Hi. So recently I have been trying to better my relationship with God, but I’ve been seeing a lot of videos about God comibg soon and the world ending and stuff. It’s been really making me scared the thought of the workd ending and my future going to uni and havung a family is gone. I know I should be happy the day Jesus arrives but I can’t help but worry about my future and my family because none of them are truly religious and I worry anout them going to Heaven. Then I start to worry about if I can even get into Heaven because I’m not the perfect Christian nor am I baptized because I don’t think my parents will let me. It makes me scared and anxious which is what I’m not supposed to be. Please if you can, I need advice to help. And go easy on me, I’m just new at this.

- a very anxious teenage girl.

Hey Milavan1229,
Wondering is right. My post was meant for you. Sorry about that wondering. I'm not just bad with names in person. Now I'm bad with them online. Getting old is not all fun and games. Keep walking everybody. May God bless,
Taz

Hi Milavan, hope you are doing well.

A lot of wonderful advice has been given.

Recently I've been reminded of God's grace and how wonderful and amazing it is.
We are saved by grace, not by our work, not by how good or close to perfectness we are - it's all done by His perfect love for us. It truly is a gift we did not deserve, but it's ours.

And when we start to grasp how amazing His love, His grace is, we can't but help fall in love with God - and wanting to follow and obey Him. We will stumble from time to time, but we have a faithful God who has given us the Holy Spirit as a guide.

As for baptism. It is ideal and recommended to be baptized, but, it's also ideal and Biblical to honor your parents (get their blessing). A "no" from them at this time is not a "no" forever. There's been a number of testimonies regarding your situation (parents say no, but later say yes). It'll be God's timing, you don't need to force it.

In regards to the videos you've been watching (about the end of the world), I'm not saying they're bad, but perhaps not the right time to watch at this stage of your Christian growth as it only brings fear.

If you do like watching videos about Christianity, there's a lot of wonderful videos out there, old and new (I recommend watching some really old ones, too, you'd be surprised how relevant the teachings are even for today - it's based on God's word, it will always be relevant).

All the best in your walk with God!

If you do like to watch videos to help you in your Christian walk, I can suggest a few,

1. Pastor Matt Chandler and his series on "A Beautiful Design"

2. Pastor Rick Warren on prayer

3. Peter Jackson speaking on The Father's Heart of God

Other notable speakers that I could recommend;
- Francis Chan
- Derek Prince (oooold school, but great, sound teaching of the Bible)
- Heidi Baker (more life stories than teaching, but they're amazing stories)

subjects that I would suggest looking into
- the Father love of God
- our identity in Christ
- the Holy Spirit

anything that can help strengthen and deepen your relationship with God

Update: its been a few days now and I’ve been doing a bit better managing my anxiety. I’ve been praying still snd doing my daily worship. Today though another video about the raptyre coning in 2023 ended up on my feed again and I am feeling a bit more anxious again. I think I just need some reasurance.
Hi Milavan,
Sorry I didn't respond sooner. Been really busy with visitors.

You know, looks like we're all anxious about one thing or another.
So there's nothing unusual here, except that if you have anxiety problems you have more to deal with.

Maybe you could start listening to teachers/pastors that are nice and teach us good things.
Have you ever listened to Mike Winger? I like him a lot and have never heard him say anything strange.
I'll put a link down below.

Thank you. I really appreciate the help. I’ve always been an anxious person even ss a kid. The most little things can send me in an overthiniing spiral. But I’ve been praying recently and trying to put my trust all in God and trust that he’ll let me live a beautiful joyous and full life. Trying my best.

I'm not sure where your relationship is with your parents. You could talk to them first. If it's a no and they are angry you could wait til you were 18. Slowly bring the subject up and see how it goes. You can still read using a Bible app and keep praying. Jesus knows the situation and He will help you find a way. I will keep you in prayer. Hugs.

Hi, I do not know who I am addressing, but I know if advice is correct or not.

If anyone wanted to be ready for when Jesus returns, ( no such thing as a rapture, all is done in the blink of an eye, the day of the Lod comes as a thief in the night, not when they have already seen Jesus, that would speaking against faith.

1 Corinthians 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

1 Thessalonians 5:2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

Then we already were told in 2 Peter 3, what manner of conversation we should have, in holiness and godliness. Ephesians 5 shows this is us being holy and without blemish, as 2 Peter 3 continued to say the same, we are to be diligent to be found of Him in peace, without spot and blemish, for us to be sanctified wholly ( cleansed of all unrighteousness) for our whole spirit and soul and body, to be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Philippians 2, tells of obedience, and how we are to work out our salvation with fear and trembling. God to work in us to do of HIs good pleasure. To do all things without murmuring and disputes, ( to be found of Him in peace, holiness and godliness..) to be blameless and harmless, the Sons of God without rebuke, which is by holding forth the word of life so we have not run in vain.

Ephesians 5:27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

Philippians 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
14 Do all things without murmurings and disputings:
15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;
16 Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.

1 Thessalonians 5:23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

2 Peter 3:14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

It is important to be vigilant, as there are many false prophet/teachers here now, but they make their mistake by saying many words, because the scriptures are wiser then they are, such as how we strive according to the good working of God in us, is working mightily, warning every man in all wisdom ( anything else is foolishness of this world) to present every man perfect in Christ Jesus. ( blameless, harmless, in holiness and godliness. Complete in all the will of God.) For the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, to make us perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. )

Hope from Peter for us, for the God of all grace, who has called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after we have suffered a while, makes us perfect, establishes, strengthens, settles us.

Word from John for us, that we have known and believed the love that God has to us. God is love; and he that dwells in love dwells in God, and God in him, herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as He is, so are we in this world.

Colossians 1:27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
28 Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:
29 Whereunto I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily.

Colossians 4:12 Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.

Hebrews 13:20 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,
21 Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

1 Peter 5:10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

1 John 4:16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.
17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

You have been given good advice and I will just add this. There are thousands of videos and thousands of false teachings and for now with you being so young in the Lord and in age God does not want you to worry about end times, but for you to draw closer to Jesus by faith that you are building upon as you trust Jesus for everything in your life and the relationship you have already begun with Him. Pray for your family and allow the light of Christ shine through you that they will see and feel your joy in prayers and hope they all will come to Jesus. Pray and ask the Holy Spirit to lead you to a Church that will help you grow in the word.

The world is going to get worse and worse until the last day when Jesus returns and we are then caught up to meet Him in the air and will be in glory with Him for eternity, John 15:18-27; 1 Corinthians 15:50-58; Colossians 3:1-4. I find in my spirit great joy that in God's timing we will never have to deal with the affairs, but to be in the beauty of His bosom, Revelation 21:1-4. It will be a day of great rejoicing :sohappy

2Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Keep studying and keep praying and please use the Question and Answer forum as we will help you with any question you might have. God bless you :)

Hi Milavan
Sure it's true - because that's what they think about all the time.

It's not anything that should concern you.

Keep your attention on Jesus and think about what needs to be done today.

Tomorrow we'll handle tomorrow.

Define "a lot".
Three?
Ten?
and that the signs are here and people have been ahving mass dreams and such. is this true?
Not at my house.
What did Jesus say about His return ?
"For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be." (Matt 24:27)
His return will be known by all men when it happens.
Live everyday like it is the last one, in honor and truth.

Remember, Jesus is the answer to your anxiety and not the cause. The prospect of His coming is a wonderful answer to all the pain this world offers. No more fear. No more tears. Get baptized when your heart yearns for it and not out of fear. Live your life as the Lord would have you......out of love.....not fear.

Hey All,
This topic comes around every so often. Here is what Jesus said.

Matthew 24:35-36 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

So don't waste time worrying about it. It'll happen whenever. Can you imagine how the world would be if Jesus said I'm coming back 9/29/2023? The world would be in complete chaos right now.

Plan your life as if Jesus is not coming back in your lifetime. Live each day as if He is coming back tomorrow. Keep walking everybody.
May God bless,
Taz
