Any Other Jews of the Flesh Here?

I'm a Jew of the flesh.

And I mean the whole 9 yards.

Circumcision...Bar-Mitzvah....Jewish parents. In fact my mother is a full on Isreali who came to England in her mid 20's and met my Dad

Having said that my family was very liberal about Judaism when I was growing up. We only went to synagogue for big holidays really. Friday night dinners were usually more plush affairs but we didn't really do the prayers or any of the ceremonial stuff.

Just wonderin' if theres any other Jews here who have found the love of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ?

Side note: Funny thing happened in my shop today. 3 isrealis came in and I got chatting in Hebrew to them all friendly like and they asked me how come I speak Hebrew and I said...'I'm Jewish...(they're eyes light up)....well....actually I'm a Christian but I'm a Jew of the flesh' (They look like they've seen a ghost and leave shop quietly)

I guess that experience was what made me post this. Feelin' like a lonely Jew at Christmas.

Doc.

Cheer up there Strangeglove.

Perhaps your just reminiscing the past? Any messianic Jewish organizations there where you are? What do you think of them?

Lolz..I'm not really lonely bud. That was just a South Park joke.

Um...no....theres barely any Christians where I am in SE Asia let alone Messianic Jewish organizations.

What do I think of them? They are Jews that believe in Christ, I guess thats all I know about them.

Do they have any basic doctrine that differs from mainline Christianity?

Not really. They hold to the same basic truth that I hold, which fits well within the pail of Christian Orthodoxy. Which is to say that I believe that Christ was God incarnate; that he came to earth to rescue his people, and that he died for the sins of man. Those who accept him by faith receive salvation through their faith by the grace of God.

i was not raised in the temple but my lineage is and my dad was and also his relatives.

yes i can relate sl as my kin would disown me if i mention his name but if i talk about gay rights or new ageism its ok. yet the torah is against that.

:sad

I don`t have any Jewish blood in me but I would love to have it!!! I think it would be wonderful. As for the Messianic churches, like Protestants, there are various branches. Some keep all the OT holidays and eat kosher and others don`t. Some have the beautiful traditional Jewish music but with words that praise Jesus. Others just have the mainline Christian music. Some keep the Sabbath like regular Jews and some don`t. There is a Messianic church near my sister`s house and she said they worship and fellowship all day long. They eat, sing, and praise God on Saturday from morning till the sun goes down. But another Messianic church in her neighborhood just has regular church services. My husband is a part of a Messianic type fellowship and what he likes about it is for the first time in his Christian life he can clearly see how the OT and NT are tied together so tightly. Everything in the NT is a reflection of the OT. He clearly now sees how Christianty is Judism to its fullest. To be a part of a Messianic fellowship is truly enlightening and really helps one understand the NT more. So he enjoys both worlds the gentile and Messianic church! The teaching is the same but the angle of looking at things is a little different. The Messianic church tends to look at the NT from a Jewish/OT perspective while the gentile church tends to look at the Bible from a NT/gentile perspective.

You are in Asia. Do you have concerns or thoughts about the current Korean situation?

Thanks guys....interesting to see theres some members with Hebrew heritage and ancestry here.

I was specifically looking for anyone who has come out of the Judaic system though.

Is there anyone here who was born and raised a Jew? Called themselves a Jew and went through the usual stuff like Bar-Mitzvah or Confirmation and went to sunday school and raised in a Jewish household with Jewish parents? The whole deal?

Any proper Jews here who came out of that faith and turned to Christ?

Come on I can't be the only Jew here? :shame2

A good starting place to look is Jews for Jesus - http://www.jewsforjesus.org/ Jews for Jesus. They even have a forum! But there are many many other places to find real Jewish Christians even rabbis who have come to accept Jesus as their Messiah! God is definitely not through with His beloved people!!! He is still knocking at the hearts of the Jews and Jews are opening the doors of their hearts all over the world!

I would really love to meet some Messianic Jews and fellowship with them! That sounds wonderful. I was just telling the Lord last night how I wished to see more of how the OT/NT reflected each other.

Some of my clearest understanding of Scripture has come from the teachings of a Messianic Jew.

Not only that, but they understand Hebrew tradition and history in a greater capacity than we the adopted sons of God do. I love hearing about what the people of the OT were like. I once heard a teaching on pregnancy and Hebrew women. When I am blessed with my own in the future I plan to follow their lead!

I completely agree there is such a wealth of knowledge to come from Jewish Believers and when they expound on the scriptures, the scriptures come alive! You just see things in a whole new way, and don`t even get me started on Hebrew. My goodness, when you have a Jewish Believer starting to explain something to you from their own language it is eye opening! And it is not the same as when a gentile who took a few courses in Hebrew during seminary explains it. Of course, not all Jewish Believers have studied Hebrew or even know much about Judism, but those who have studied Hebrew and really know their Jewish roots, they are a major blessing to all who have the priviliege of spending time with them. You WILL be blessed with the knowledge they have to share!!!!

well i cant talk about christ to my grandmother on that as she wouldnt listen about christ. my bro has told her. i let him do that.

Funny thing though. When I was talking with the Lord one summer day, about seeing this scantily clad woman walking down the street, and how I used to lsut after such, and I asked if He remembered when I used to do that....His reply to me was...." NO! "

That caught me by surprise, so I queried Him further, saying.." Lord, you must remember when I used to do that?" His response.... " No son, the man that did than is dead, you are a new creation in Me! "

My former life before my New birth, is gone. The man who did those things, is dead, he died with Christ, was buried with Christ, and arose a new creation in Christ. The old things/ways are gone, not even remembered by Him, and yet we still want to cling to who we were before?

Paul said, " It is no longer I, who live, but Christ, who lives in me!" If one died with Christ, then who are you? Our ancestry changed the day we were born of Him. Paul said, " from this point onward, I know no man after the flesh!"

Just my two cents.

I would agree that our citizenship changes but the prior knowledge and experiences we had before becoming Christains follow us and God wants us to use this knowledge and experinece for His glory. Before we may have been using it for our own gain or for sinful purposes, but now we are expected to take that knowledge and do something fruitful with it. I don`t know if you are suggesting that a Jew should throw out their ancestry once they follow Christ? But if that is the case, I think you are mistaken because as gentiles we are more grafted into their ancestory than vice versa.

I spent some time in a Forum run my a Messianic Jew. There seems to be as many variations within the Messianic community as there is in gentile Christianity.
