Any Trekkee's out there?

Good news about Grace finding God in the article. I always liked her too.

I rather liked the changes in technology in the different series, and thought Majel did a good job producing the Andromeda series.

Hmmm. I do believe you're right brother. :)

Wow. She passed? So sad.

I think most red blooded males had a crush on her especially during the first run of Star Trek TOS. They were beginning to, but in those days only a few attractive 30-ish women revealed as much skin** as Yeoman Janice Rand (Grace Lee Whitney / Mary Ann Chase). Admittedly it was the actual first appeal of the show to me. Later I got hooked on the Treknatiousness of it all (the geek in me was hatched).

**Of course in later life as I grew in the Lord I realized such exploitative pursuits wasn't good for anyone. A life long struggle of mine.

I read of her faith in Jesus... she was Jewish*. As I recall virtually raised on stage in the post Vaudeville era.

*may have been a proselyte conversion
also may have been an atheist at one time
but ended up in Christian faith

The REAL starship enterprise (interior)

The center line of the original bridge was offset because having a door to the turbolift directly behind the captain's back didn't play well for television. But this was a better design which would have accommodated all:

Their design seemed quite short-sighted compared to today's designs. But we have to remember that the designers of the original enterprise thought of it as super humongous because at the time space travel meant being crammed into a cone-shaped capsule the about the size of the three central posts above (8,9, & 10).

Man went to the moon decades ago, and hasn't been back since. We seem to be going backward.

Um, much as I love a good sci fi show space travel really is not in the cards for mankind. We are prisoners of our big blue marble.

The universe is anthropologically based centered entirely on this one world (as hard as that is for people to grasp). Going out into space would be like going out among the mechanisms which make sustainable life here possible or throwing away our lives here to die in some sardine can equipped to sustain us up to a point. Even generationally reaching another star / planet (if the gravity problem was solved) only to find the ideal perhaps the only idea planet is what was left behind.

In a single lifetime zero G would reduce people to wheel chairs and in generational transits blobs.

UFO's are increasingly hard to deny. If there is anything to them (including the wheel in the sky in Ezekiel which may or may not be a description of the throne of God), IMHO are trans-dimensional vessels hauling fallen angels where their stripped abilities can no longer take them.

Brilliant people spend a lot of effort to pursue their fantasies / hopes of what they WANT the evidence to indicate... like Jacob's ladder was a transporter mechanism of some sort for transiting to spaceships... but the vision (unlike the rainbow bridge of Thor and others) is about the link between heaven and earth being Christ.

One example: analysis of moon rocks indicates that a Mars sized planet's vector intersected with the early earth. This pushed much of earth's early Venus like atmosphere out into space, leaving our current pleasant atmosphere.

The evidence of a Venus-like atmosphere?

I haven't heard that. if that was around, oddly the the creations sites would be talking about that.

...darkness was over the surface of the deep... Genesis 1:2b NIV

Which suggests the entire creation at that point. The first command is literally in the Hebrew "Let light be!" Let light exist. And there was light. This was not the removing of a veil or canopy over one point such as earth.

I have heard that there was prior to the great flood a water vapor canopy above the earth like there are canopies above Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, and Uranus (none of which are water vapor canopies but are canopies nevertheless).

As you noted, there are thick clouds around all of the other planets with earth mass or greater. Mars has a negligible atmosphere because its mass is not enough to keep O2 and N2 molecules near its surface.

Something happened to remove the Venus/Jupiter/Saturn like clouds from around the earth.

The Bible gives the frame of reference for the Genesis account. Specifically:

...the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters. Genesis 1:2c NIV

IOW, the frame of reference for the account is from the point of view of someone hovering over the surface, well below the cloud layer.
