Yes
Hey, I'm not the kind of person to play jokes like this, I know it sounds weird, but something really weird just happened and It kinda shook me up.
I was just walking up in the woods around my house and thinking about my bible lesson today and I had a thought about Satan, suddenly my foot slid forward and made me kneel, and I felt sick to my stomach. I don't know if it was just a coincidence or what...

It could be just a slippery path...or you could have felt a physical attack from a spiritual source...either way is possible.

Yes, it can be rather scary when it happens...but, we are not given armor for nothing. Just keep in mind that greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world and that you are more than a conqueror.

Various people have various methods, perhaps gifts would even be a better word, in how to deal with this kind of thing. Myself, if I feel I am under spiritual attack, I simply withdraw to Christ and ask for His protection and help. That's the shield of faith and it is highly effective. :yes

I don't know where you are in your walk, a veteran or a baby Christian. If you've never done so, please do read Ephesians 6:10-18...a must read for all Christians.

I don't believe in "coincidences" myself.

That your foot slipped could have been because of the pathway, yes. But that you felt sick to your stomach, that's not from the slippery ? path. Satan hates us, let's face it. While Satan isn't everywhere (he's not omnipresent like God is) he does have 1/3 (or less) demons available to do his work against believers. I absolutely believe you could have felt this as an attack.

What I know to work when being in the presence of a demon is to speak aloud regarding the blood of Christ. They cannot stand to hear it. :) I won't give any particular phrase because it doesn't matter as long as it's truth and you believe the statement... claim the power of the blood of Christ and they will flee.

If you find continual attacks, you may wish to claim protection for yourself, and your family, your home, pets etc. This is real warfare that generally only those of us who are active in the battle experience. (Satan doesn't bother--and might even reward inactive believers--he has them right where he wants them!)

May you continue to proclaim the Good News of Christ!

Paths can be very slippery and it could just have been the shock of the fall that made your stomach upset, but none the less Satan's dominions just love to distract us when we are reflecting on the Lord. Just claim Psalms 91 as I do when you walk through the woods as to me there is no better place to reflect on God when you have so much of his beauty in creation around you. I love taking walks in the wood and am surrounded by them where I live.

@handy, thanks for your advice, that's one of my favorite passages!

@gazelle, thank you for your thoughts and advice, right after it happened I immediately asked Jesus to protect me, and started feeling better right away. I didn't think to speak to the (possible) demon. It's strange that you mention that Satan only wages war against those who are engaged in battle, I recently started attending a "bringing the Gospel home" class at my church, and was thinking right before I slipped about the lesson I had just been to!

@for_his_glory, Psalms 91 is one of my all time favorite passages! I usually go into the woods when I really think about God, it helps to see Him better when all that's around you is His creation!
