April's Second Annual Virtual Hawaiian Luau Party!!

Interesting fact: in ancient Hawaii, men and women were not allowed to eat at the same time. King Kamehameha II ended this practice by initiating the now famous feast that allowed everyone to partake at the same time.

Its good that King Kamehameha II got rid of those pagan temples. It probably helped Christian missionaries to better preach the Gospel there, without so many influential pagan priests to oppose them.

Have any of you ever seen the movie Hawaii, based on the novel by James A. Michener? About missionaries in Hawaii.

I think I might have, a long time ago. I don't remember much about it. I might even be remembering a different movie on the same topic. I don't pay much attention to Hollywood's version of things. Hollywood tends to get things all mixed up.
