I wish we (all of God's people) would only teach what we know of God. What we know is in His Word, once the speculation starts the truth gets lost.
^ This.

I haven't won any way near the number of people to Christ that he has... have you? God is blessing his ministry. Satan is attacking. I'm on God's side :) I hope you are too. This man is a man of God.
If you think this whole thing is a competition on who can win more souls for Christ, then you are sadly mistaken.

This brings to mind the question, do reptiles love?

My Issa loves me...at least, I think he says he does. He said just the other day he loves me 'cause I taste like chicken. :p

Reba...:thumbsup...When you hit the nail on the head, sister...it is well and truly hit.

Gazelle, is there anyway that you can reconcile this idea of someone who prophesies in the name of the Lord...has it fail to come to pass, and we are to still listen to them as a prophet/preacher/teacher for the Lord with Scripture? What Scripture are you drawing on to a: listen to those who make prophesies that fail to come to pass, b: encourage others to do the same and c: rebuke those who go against them?

Lindsay, Van Impe, Camping and others...these three are by far not the only ones who have done "much" in His name. But we know that there will be those who do prophesy in His name, cast out demons in His name and even do miracles in His name that He states He doesn't know. It seems to me that a very basic way we can protect those whose faith can be shipwrecked by false prophets would at least be able to say..."Since his prophesies do not come to pass...don't listen to him."

Perhaps you've never met anyone whose faith was shipwrecked because of guys like these...folks who have lost a great deal of money, but even worse their faith because they believe in these false prophets, only to find that they were...false. I have. It's a hard, hard thing to see. Real people, real souls that suffer real loss when they find they have been duped.

As for winning souls...I mentioned this before but this has been a pretty busy thread so I'll mention it again...we "win souls" by preaching the Gospel...only the Gospel has the power to save. And, when the truth of the Gospel gets muddied by prophesies that fail to come true...how is that helpful?

Well, there was going to be a disaster, and many professional techs will tell you ...and they'd share how many countless hours they worked to keep it from happening. (Our computers weren't prepared to handle the century change. This should be easy to understand even for a non techie, since many of our old clocks don't reset properly for our time changes, esp now that they changed the change time date. :rofl

So, if I read you right, you are disappointed that Ninevah repented and changed as well?

computers dont need to know what time of day to work they clock all operations by several methods and the clock is a simple quarts crystal for one method

even some said cars would do this. well then i am trained in that and didnt even believe that as when one scans a car for live data or codes no time is given. the clock is again set by the pulses of quarts crystal.

basically thats a beat unique to each shaped crystal that every computer has and each one its own unique drumbeat.

Yeah, I was working for a computer manufacturer at the time leading up to Y2K...From 1995 to mid-2000, so I was in the thick of it. We were definately dealing with the issue...lots of techie stuff needed to be adjusted, but no one could possibly understand why everyone thought that the world was going to come crashing down around us. SNAFU'S and irritating glitches, yes...but the whole of modern civilization collapsing? :shrug

One should never underestimate people's propensity to make a buck out of these kinds of things. We have a neighbor who made a ton of money selling overpriced generators, water purifying kits, and survival kits to folks, exploiting the fear that the world was coming to an end. He claims to be a Christian too, but somehow felt totally justified in selling things at inflated prices if folks were stupid enough to buy them.

Well said.

what irritates me the most is that atheists say we are fools and often it seems that way. god never SAID faith in me must exclude the beaner!it works and use it. faith is logical and some giant oh i dont know if hes real. its i see him and i know this to be reality! live it!

Are Jack Van Impe's predictions Biblical?

I answered honestly, yes.

I even tried to offer enough data so those who truly didn't know could make a good decision.

If there are those who are still accusing this Godly man of being a heretic, then that is on you, before God. You have accused him and even after I shared how you are going after a Christian, you continue to attack. You have been warned. What more can be said about that?

Christians know that it's only Biblical, that if you have something against another, you take it to them. NASB (©1995) Matthew 18:15.
"If your brother sins, go and show him his fault in private; if he listens to you, you have won your brother.
I would hope you would do this.

However, I have done my part in steering you correctly. I can't help it if some don't seem to want the truth, but a lynching.

At this point I feel the way Paul felt about Alexander the blacksmith. (2 Timothy 4:14 NASB (©1995) Alexander the coppersmith did me much harm; the Lord will repay him according to his deeds.) If you've done no wrong and your heart is pure, then you have no problem before God in this matter.

I'm done.

Prove me wrong G List the thousands of Jack's published predictions that have come true.

LOL@Gazelle
I'm done.
Well, I see you have adopted Jack's penchant for the dramatic, too bad it comes out so funny.

guys/gals I've been watching this post. As I said I have not watched or read much for Jack.. as a matter of fact.. very little.. But there seems to be some serious bashing in the tread about him. Since he's not here to defend his actions "words". Well I'm curious since all of you seem to know him better than I, well can you llist the prophecies that he has predicted.. curious..

Thanks Dora and as Hitch said well said...

Freeway.
The man made failed prophecies. How is it bashing to state the fact of failed prophecies? Read the thread... this one is about y2k

.Jack: Rexella, I was going to make this video next year, around February, March. But the Holy Spirit awakened me a few months ago and warned me as to what was coming and that I should warn you. And I'll tell you, this is perhaps the most important video you'll ever receive concerning your own survival and what to do to prepare for what's coming.

Reba..... thank you.. but is that a prophecy... Our Goverment says over and over things are going to get better... But somehow I still don't find any comfort in that. Sometimes I don't agree with the way they TV preachers seem to put money first, but they have to pay the light bill... and rolls royce ;) ....sorry had too....

When someone says God woke them up in the middle of the night to warn him and for him to warn us about an upcoming event...that's a prophecy. This particular warning was about the horrors of Y2K...

You know, when everything was going to come crashing down January of 2000.

Van Impe is mainly a TV guy and I'm sort of scrolling through some videos about him...You've asked a fair enough question, one that deserves an answer and I'll try to pull something together for you to show why I, in my own opinion, reject him as a valid preacher/teacher/prophet of God. It just takes me a little longer when it's video, because I usually prefer the written word.
