Growth Are there any examples / scenarios to illustrate where a person blasphemies a believer who has the indwelling of the Holy Spirit?

It is written in Matthew 12:31-32 the following: -

Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the one to come.

It is my understanding that all sin and blasphemies done by a person can be forgiven and those who speak a word against the Son of Man are also forgiven. When a person speaks against the Holy Spirit, whether to another Spirit-filled believer or to himself or herself who are filled with the Holy Spirit, the person is not forgiven, in this present life or eternal life, which is to come.

Are there any examples / scenarios to illustrate where a person blasphemies a believer who has the indwelling of the Holy Spirit?

Basically, this is referring to attributing to the Holy Spirit something that would be of Satan, or vice versa. In otherwords, if you say the Holy Spirit tempted me, or lead me to sin, that would be blaspheming the Holy Spirit as He does not and will not do that.

Context is king. The context of this passage is high ranking Jews, who supposedly knew God or should have, seeing Jesus' miracles and attributing it to the devil.

I don't think it's a stretch to say this is something no believer would ever do. I am also cautious, never jumping in on the bandwagon of folks decrying this or that televangelist, for example. There are other ways of avoiding bad doctrine, without the need to run others down. I think it's a good idea to stay a million miles away from any possibility of violating the principle here, and I find it really easy to do.

I have met situations like this one in 3rd John....

3John 1:9 "I wrote something to the church; but Diotrephes, who loves to be first among them, does not accept what we say.
1:10 For this reason, if I come, I will call attention to his deeds which he does, unjustly accusing us with wicked words; and not satisfied with this, he himself does not receive the brethren, either, and he forbids those who desire to do so and puts them out of the church."

Deotrephes would, in my mind, be guilty of attacking the Holy Spirit Who was indwelling in fellow Believers.

Matthew 5:22 But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to his brother, 'Raca', is answerable to the Sanhedrin. But anyone who says, 'You fool' will be in danger of the fire of hell.

You will not see me calling out other believers and saying they are absolutely wrong. I do have my "test the spirits" googles on, but won't make judgement on people.

But, I have had my own sister basically call me "a fool" (more expletive language though). She really hates me.

1 Timothy 1:13 Paul (Saul) was a blasphemer and even persecuted Christians to death, but was a blasphemer out of ignorance in unbelief for he knew not Christ or the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. It wasn't until his conversion on the road to Damascus that his spiritual eyes and ears were opened, to understanding, Acts 9.

Those who walk in unbelief are just that being nonbelievers and are none of Christ like Paul was at one time. Those who have walked in truth given them by the Spirit of God (Holy Spirit) John 14:26, are those who have also turned back to the flesh just as the foolish Galatians who walked away from faith in Galatians chapter 3 are those who blasphemy the Holy Spirit as they knowing the truth have walked away from it as their hearts become hardened.

Matthew 12:31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. 32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come. 33 Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.
