Armageddon or Harmagedon: Revelations 16:16. "and in the Hebrew language it is called Armageddon."
There is no word "Armageddon" in the Hebrew language; the word Armageddon is a contraction and mistranslation for the words,"Mount of the Congregation Zion".

Ar / ma / ged / don. Also: Har / ma / ged / on.
Har / edah / siyyon.
Har: Mount or Mountain.
Edah or Mowed: Assembly, Community or Congregation.
Siyyon: Zion.

Revelations 16:13-16. And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and that beast, and out of the mouth of a false prophet.
14. For they have evil spirits, working miracles for the rulers of the earth and the whole world, to gather them togather to do battle against God Almighty on that great day.
15. Watch, I come like a thief. Blessed is he that keeps watch, and keeps his cloths, or else he will walk naked, and people will see his shame.
16. And they gathered them together to that place, and in the Hebrew language it is called; Mount of the Congregation Zion.

Isaiah 29:8. So will it be with the hordes of all the nations that fight against Mount Zion.

2 Kings 19:31
For out of Jerusalem will come a remnant, and out of Mount Zion a band of survivors. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this.
Psalm 2:6
"I have installed my King on Zion, my holy hill."
Psalm 14:7
Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion! When the LORD restores the fortunes of his people, let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad!
Isaiah 31:4
This is what the LORD says to me: "As a lion growls, a great lion over his prey— and though a whole band of shepherds is called together against him, he is not frightened by their shouts or disturbed by their clamor— so the LORD Almighty will come down to do battle on Mount Zion and on its heights.
  • Isaiah 34:8
For the LORD has a day of vengeance, a year of retribution, to uphold Zion's cause.
  • Isaiah 59:20
"The Redeemer will come to Zion, to those in Jacob who repent of their sins," declares the LORD.
Hebrews 12:22
But you have come to Mount Zion, to the heavenly Jerusalem, the city of the living God. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly,

1 Peter 2:6
For in Scripture it says: "See, I lay a stone in Zion, a chosen and precious cornerstone, and the one who trusts in him will never be put to shame."

Revelation 14:1
Then I looked, and there before me was the Lamb, standing on Mount Zion, and with him 144,000 who had his name and his Father's name written on their foreheads.

Terrific post! :clap I didn't realize that Mdo757. I knew it was a gathering place but not...Mount of the Congregation Zion. God's elect are that congregation. Some of us are the spiritual mount Zion the nations fight.

  • Revelation 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

That remnant is mount Zion and in that remnant is Christ. He abides in them.

Thank you for gathering these Scriptures and teaching what you have. :-)

Armageddon comes from har-megiddo--har means "hill" or "mountain" and Megiddo is a city. Nothing more.

Megiddo is a valley in Israel. Besides that, there is no mountain called Megiddo, nor is there any relationship to Armageddon or Harmagedon. There is no such Hebrew word, ever. The word is misspelled. There is no reason for Christians to gather in the valley of Megiddo to worship God.

Yes, Megiddo is a plain or valley, however, the Bible does not say that it is a place where Christians will gather to worship. It is a valley where battles took place and it makes sense that it's usage in Rev 16 would point to a place where armies would gather for battle. And note that it is a valley which means there are hills or mountains around. It could refer to a mountain of Megiddo or even Mt. Carmel, which wasn't that far away.

Do armies come against mountains or people? OK then, let us see a picture or documentation of Mt. Megiddo.

har is similar to the persian(pashto) word ghar meaning mountain that area in israeal isnt just a mow hill, more like a small mountain

Look at the context:

Rev 16:14 For they are demonic spirits, performing signs, who go abroad to the kings of the whole world, to assemble them for battle on the great day of God the Almighty.
Rev 16:15 ("Behold, I am coming like a thief! Blessed is the one who stays awake, keeping his garments on, that he may not go about naked and be seen exposed!")
Rev 16:16 And they assembled them at the place that in Hebrew is called Armageddon.

The armies are gathered together at Armageddon. Likely referred to here:

Rev 19:19 And I saw the beast and the kings of the earth with their armies gathered to make war against him who was sitting on the horse and against his army.

There is no mention in scripture that nations will come against Zion in Megiddo.
  • 2 Chronicles 35:22
Nevertheless Josiah would not turn his face from him, but disguised himself, that he might fight with him, and hearkened not unto the words of Necho from the mouth of God, and came to fight in the valley of Megiddo.

    Zechariah 12:11
In that day shall there be a great mourning in Jerusalem, as the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the valley of Megiddon.

ISAIAH Chapter 18
1. Woe to the land of spinning wings, beyond the rivers of Cush;
2. That sends ambassadors by sea, in wooden vessels upon the waters. Go quickly you messengers and speak to a tall and smooth skin people, to a nation violent from their beginning onward; a strong and conquering nation, whose land is divided by waters.
3. All you inhabitants of the world living upon the earth; Look and listen when he lifts up a banner on the mountain, and when he blows the trumpet.
4. Yahwah said to me, I will remain silent, and I will consider in my dwelling place like a heat wave in the sunlight, and like a cloud of dew in the heat of harvest.
5. For before the harvest, when the blossom is gone, and the bud is ripening into young grapes, He shall cut off both the sprigs and cut down the branches with pruning hooks and take them away.
6. They shall be left to the gathering birds of the mountains, and to the beasts of the earth; the birds shall summer upon them, and the beasts of the earth shall winter upon them.
7. In that time a gift shall be brought to Yahwah Almighty, by a tall and smooth skin people, from a nation violent from their beginning onward; a strong and conquering nation, whose land is divided by waters, to a place named for Yahwah Almighty, Mount Zion.

I believe this is speaking of America. The "scattered and peeled people," [KJV] that you refer to as "smooth" are the house of Israel. They are the scattered ten tribes that Christ was sent to. They/we are today's Christians. Being peeled means being obstinate and independent. The United States of America! Where it is written....."To the place of the name of the LORD of hosts, the mount Zion," I see as to the spiritual mount Zion and that doesn't mean our Jewish brothers. His elect are His mount Zion.

You are correct, it is speaking about America as the land of whirling wings. Although those Hebrew words can be translated as "scattered and peeled," the correct translation would be "smooth skinned" which is the opposite of being callous. Smooth skinned is the opposite of being callous, and that is why it means "meek." And the meek shall inherit the earth.

Been down this road once or twice: Armageddon = of Hebrew origin (2022 and Mgiddown 4023); Armageddon (or Har-Meggiddon), a symbolic name:--Armageddon.

$4023 = Mgiddown/meg-id-done' = (Zech. ''abdan' (12) or Mgiddow {meg-id-do'}; from 'gadad' (1413); rendezvous; Megiddon or Megiddo, a place in Palestine:--Megiddo, Megiddon.

The mount of Megiddo.

Does scripture say that the worlds armies will gather against Megiddo, or Zion?

Who's Zion? Is that descriptive of a place or a people?

I agree. People. Thus the body of Christ are the true Israelites then.

Gal 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. Gal 3:29 And if ye [be] Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
