I had signed up on a forum basically for moms and basically to share/discuss/get encouragement in homeschooling the kids but also to just chit chat when I had the time. It wasn't a Christian site and believe me... the level of intolerance for Christians was pretty astounding. Anyone who was vocal about their faith was spammed with some pretty horrific posts. One Christian woman who consistently shared simple videos of an encouraging verse and hymn was spammed with some pretty vile stuff...all under the noses of the mods and in full violation of the rules.
I had made a fairly interesting observation... the worst of the spammers tended to be the moms who were noted for having higher education. It was interesting to talk with one of these moms... She had several educational and psychological degrees and worked extensively in school and could talk intelligently about the issue of bullying. Once, she had posted a particularly vile, blasphemous picture in a thread in which one Christian woman had shared a praise to God and I talked with her about it. About the irony of here she was a professional, highly educated woman who spoke often and eloquently about the negative effects of bullying and she was bullying this other woman. She simply could not see her actions as bullying or wrong in any way. Her excuse was that Christians are oppressors of women, homosexuals and are "almost always" (in her opinion) racists and bigots and therefore any Christian posting any of that "god @$%*" deserved to be treated like a troll. She seemed incapable of seeing her own bigotry.

My first thought would have been to tell her she was doing the bullying but, she would likely be "smart" enough, at least in her own mind too explain it away as a good thing, defending minorities.
I think people like that, while maybe denying God even exists or at least that he is the way, show their fear of God and that they without a doubt believe he is there, they just don't want to follow him. That's why they fight so hard against him. If they didn't think there was a God or didn't fear him, there would be no reason to bother fighting him or the people that represent him. They are scared.
I've seen people get so angry and vindictive on the subject, it has to boil down to simple defiance of something they know deep inside they cannot deny is there. And the basics of that is people want to do what they want to do and choose to pretend they can do that and be just fine. Messing with that pretend world can be like messing with a hornets nest.

If the Christianphobes are "small in number," as this study suggests, then for some reason I encounter a weirdly huge percentage of them in my little corner of the world. I have a number of friends who fit the demographic profile described by the authors of the study ("white, wealthy [or at least solidly middle class], well-educated and non-religious") and, even though we are genuinely good friends, they are 100% violently opposed to Christianity. What is particularly interesting is that two of them are solid New Age characters (one quite famous) who would cheerfully listen for an hour if you wanted to discuss your worship of Krishna's third cousin or the visions of the Earth Goddess you experience with ayahuasca, but the conversation comes to an immediate halt if you even hint at Christianity. As one epitome of New Age tolerance said to me, "I don't even allow a Christian in my car." So while this study is interesting, my real-world experience tells me Christianphobia is more pervasive than the study suggests. On the other hand, I think a lot of the Christianphobia can be explained by the "rebellious teenager syndrome" - those who favor positions that are opposed to traditional Christian values (e.g., gay marriage) are on a roll, and they are having their fun by "shocking their elders" with over-the-top anti-Christian hostility. I also think that those of us who are over 40 and haven't been in school for many years really have no idea of how completely the younger generations have been brainwashed by the academic elite and how completely differently they view the world. For many, Christianity isn't merely "rejected" - it never even makes it onto the radar screen of their lives.

Weighing in with another observation I've made over the past few years that fits in with this subject:
Whenever ISIS or the Taliban or extremists in any other religion commits some atrocity, many people will either a: be quick to point out that Christians commit plenty of atrocities as well (generally, they pull out things that were done 500 years ago, but no matter) or b: state that ALL religion should be wiped out because ALL religions are violent.
Yet, when it's a Christian ... for instant this current Josh Duggar scandal... then it's not ALL religions, nope. It's Christianity. If ISIS burns Christian children alive, then they are not to be considered representative of the entire Muslim population: but if Josh Duggar messed with girls when he was a teen boy, it's because ALL Christians are nothing but hypocrites.

Why should Christians be "concerned"? We were told over 2,000 years ago that this would be precisely the way it is. The "powerful elites" crucified Christ, martyred His apostles, and persecuted the churches centuries ago. The word Christ used was "hatred", not "phobia".
No, Christians should not be *concerned* (read fearful, cowardly, cowering, nervous, etc.) , but speak out against sin and evil in the churches, the schools, the government, and society in general, while proclaiming Bible truth and Gospel truth.
There is nothing more powerful than the truth. Even Gandhi knew this and used this weapon. The Sanskrit word is "Satya". All that the "elites" have are lies. Pontius Pilate did not want to face the truth so he dodged the issue by asking "What is Truth?" That's exactly what "higher eduction" does today.

I just participated in an nco school.we spent time on hate groups.Christians weren't mentioned.I didn't say there isn't an issue.just I don't see it in my unit.we had chapel service .the former battalion cdr is a believer.the hq Co is also a christian.the new battalion cdr supports the chaplain.my chaplain refused to council gays.he has received no recourse.it's allowed.

This article interested me. My parents work at a local university. Egos and pretentiousness are rampant. Anyway, there's plenty of people there who I think have a serious problem with Jesus...and they're influencing lots of young people who will fill various roles in society in years to come. Its crazy. Think about it this way...professors aren't usually wealthy, but they have a lot influence over people, both inside and out of the classroom. So...the way they think about things will have an effect on the rest of us, usually sooner, rather than later.
The pagan school system is on an anti-Christian crusade. The more years that people are exposed to the system's propaganda, the greater the effect. The K-12 pagan system is raising the nation's children, and is doing its best to teach them to be pagans.
