Atheist family and friends?

As an atheist, I am wondering if any of you have family members or close friends that are atheists. If so, what do you think about them? Do you often argue over religion? Etc.

I guess I do, though I think most of my friends are agnostic-lite. Me and my friends have an agreement. We don't talk politics or religion. Actually, we do talk politics but because we all agree in this view. Religiously not so much. Most of my friends are just against the institution they see as controlling Christianity and not opposed to Christianity or God or anything, but the modern churches are repulsive to them (and frankly most of them are repulsive to me also).

We occasionally will take snipes at each other on such topics but its never really an argument. If they asked me I'd answer them but I don't feel compelled to witness to them or anything. When you are around people for long periods of time your presence can often be a witness in itself.

I haven't really gotten into it with my non-believer and nominal believer relatives. I guess if I had a kid or some close friend whose beliefs not only contradicted what I know to be Truth but also had obvious ill-effects on that person, then I might debate but...I don't think you can really argue somebody into becoming a Christian. I could be wrong, though.

i have several that i work with and some i serve with in the guard. i dont push my views on them or bring them up. if they want to know they are free to ask.

its common sense, i dont go up to the athiests or agnostic or others and say hey sinner come to christ. how about establishing a friendship first then let them ask or when the time is right present. i work with a friend who i was into the same things at one time. eastern thinking. though i never did get heavily into that.
